I hired Hill Country Painting for a whole house interior painting project because they had 5-star reviews and claimed that they were available to get the job done prior to me moving into my house. Their quote was on the high end, but because of the timing, I went with them. The house was vacant with no furniture except for kitchen appliances, so this should have been a relatively easy job. Because there are so many issues, I will just list a few: The quality of the painting is terrible. There are paint drips and paint blobs all over the house. The lines are uneven. The cutins are sloppy. There are places with a lack of coverage where you can see the old paint beneath because they apparently had a dry roller. Some places there were so little paint applied that it is difficult to tell if they even attempted to paint the surface. They were too lazy and/or cheap to cover anything properly. There was oil-based paint sprayed all over the kitchen: the fridge, ceiling fan, multiple areas of the floors, windows, countertops, cooktop, oven, glass doors, doorknobs, blinds, light switches, motion detector, etc., were all coated with paint spray. In an impromptu visit to the house during the project, I saw that they were not properly masking and I raised the issue with the painters. I also raised the issue with the project supervisor (who of course was not there). Apparently they just did not care and continued to spray paint indiscriminately. With respect to the floor, I can tell that they tried to clean it up, but you can see where it is smeared around and the tile is cloudy. The rest of the spray? They just left it there. The prep before painting was incompetent or not done at all. The urine all over the toilet seats in both bathrooms is just another indication that they were not professionals and simply did not care. After I was sent a text by the supervisor asking for full payment because the job was *complete*, I went to the house to review the work I was shocked not only by the condition of the house but because they did not even finish the job. When the supervisor showed up for the walkthrough and saw the condition of the house, he changed his tune and said the job was not complete. He acknowledged some of the issues, made excuses for others, and offered to schedule a day to do *touchups.* He asked that I give his painters another chance so that he would not have to fire them (a tacit admission that they botched the job). I told him that I needed time to identify all the issues and decide my next steps. To make sure my expectations were reasonable, I had three professional painters come to the house to review the work and let me know how difficult it would be to fix all of the screw-ups. Each of the three said the work was incompetent and that it will be more costly to fix the botched job than if Hill Country Painting had done nothing at all. One asked me for pictures so that he could use them as examples of a bad paint job for training purposes. Hill Country Painting requested payment multiple times during the week period when I was having the other three painters come out to review the job. Hill Country offered to send their painters out for *a day* to do *touchups* so that they could get full payment. About a week after the walkthrough, I sent Hill Country Painting a letter outlining the issues and asked for a refund of my initial deposit. I informed them that the issues go well beyond anything that could reasonably be referred to as *touchups*, and I would not let their painters come back in the house because I have no confidence that they will suddenly become competent or care about my house. It has been a week and I have received no response.

We had our laundry cabinets and all the trim in the house painted. We are having them back to do the exterior of our home.

Good experience however, left a lot of splatters on the floor and drips on the walls. Ended up having to buy a plastic scraper in or to get the paint splatters off the hardwood floors.

We gathered quotes from several companies and chose to go with Hill Country based on their pricing and professionality. Would absolutely hire again. The contractor was responsive and helpful, crew was quick and efficient, and their pricing was very competitive.

Gave them a strict deadline and they got it done! Great crew - super responsive, polite, and respectful. Very competitive price. Detail orientated, prepped very well, and always cleaned up everything well. I would definitely hire them again and highly recommend them!

Moved my outdoor furniture, protected my new roof, my home looks much more bright and new.
