It broke within a day and half. They lied to me about how many copies the ink cartridges would print out with the original printer. They told me it would print out 500 copies. It only printed about 40 before it ran out. I couldn't even print anything out black and white. The 3 color cartridges were empty as well. Then I received another printer, and the box was open and someone had stolen stuff out of it. All that was in it was the printer and the trey. I tried to use that with the disc I had from the first printer, and it still wouldn't work. It was giving error messages so I had to send it back again. I got a 3rd printer and the colors are not correct. I also purchased 3 color cartridges that are supposed to print out 750 photos per cartridge and I have printed out 21 copies and checked the color cartridges and there was only about 2/3 left in each cartridge. So I sent them back to get a refund on $81.00 that I spent. Their corporate office is less helpful than the people that work at Dell. I would not recommend anybody to buy any Dell products, because of their pitiful customer service. They seem to lie about everything they sell. Everytime I buy something from them, I have to send it back and get my money back because they lie about what it is supposed to do.

While ordering the printer, I was informed I did not need additional cartridges because the cartridges provided would print 500 pages. After I printed 50 pages, three cartridges were empty. I then needed to pay $81 for three cartridges. After receiving the cartridges, the printer broke. To resolve the issue, they stated they would send me a new printer which I am waiting on. However, they only sent 1 cartridge. They have the worst customer service in the whole world, in my opinion. I've had to wait on hold for at least half an hour in many instances, only to either been disconnected or transferred to a closed department.

Overall very good experience. Contacting Dell Support was a little frustrating, but once I got to the correct group everything was handled quickly. The initial representative took my information (name, address, computer serial number, and additional contact info) on several occasions and then placed me on hold for several minutes while he diagnosed the issue. I knew what the issue was, but he finally realized the issue could not be corrected over the phone and told me I would have to talk to Technical Support. He transferred me to them and I had to give the rep my information and explain the situation all over again. He could not explain what the initial rep did with all the information I gave him. The Technical Support rep quickly stated the laptop would need to come back to Dell for service. They would send me a computer box via overnight mail, which I would use to pack my laptop in and return via Fedex. Everything was prepaid and the shipping box arrived in 2 days, as promised. The service repair for replacing a motherboard was estimated at $560 and included all shipping costs. If something more was needed on the laptop, Dell would contact me for authorization to proceed. The laptop was returned to me completely fixed - with all files still intact - by Dell within one week! I had originally taken the laptop to a local computer sales and service company immediately after to drink was spilled on the laptop. This company kept the laptop for several weeks and ultimately said they could only offer to send the laptop to Dell for service. This would cost $560 PLUS $175 for shipping and handling by the local company.

Description of Work: It all started in july or august of 2010 when they talked me into backing up everything on my computer to set it back to factory settings. I told the technician in the software department 10 times to back up everything on my computer. I stressed to him to back up everything 10 or more times.Emails are on my computer and i had over 500 non replaceable emails on my computer. after he backed up some of my computer and reset it. there were no emails because he did not back them up. I said to him why didnt you back up my emails and he said you didnt tell me to. after that he quit restoring the rest of my computer. I had to call back for 4 months to get my computer fixed they kept hanging up the phone on me and transfered me to the wrong department. and transfering me to closed departments for 4 months everyday i called back at 1 time i spent 29 hours straight on the phone with them that is 1 day and 5 hours. About 1 month after that my display screen was going off and on and giving me a error message. the software department tryed to fix it but could not. Then they started coming to my house which i paid about 43.00 according to my hardware contract. they came out about 10 times between december 2010 and april 2011. The 2 nd to the last time they came out between that time. They replaced everything in the computer except the cd drive and the hard drive and the speakers which have nothing to do with the moniter screen not working. I even had 2 hard drives and it would not work right on both hard drives. after they replaced all those parts the problem was still there. Then i called the hardware department and told them it was still broken. The technician told me they never replaced the video card. Then i started yelling at him because i told them to bring everything to fix the problem. Then he said he would send out a video card. The technician camr to my house and said why am i here because he asked me didnt i replace everything last week. And i said yes. I asked him what did he bring he said a mother board. I said you dont have a video card and he said he was sure the video card was installed in the motherboard. But he would have to take the whole computer apart to be sure. So thats what he did. then he told me the video card was inside the mother board which he thought. So he replaced the mother board again. the motherboard was replaced between 7 and 8 times in those few months. So that was not the problem. In less than 12 hours the computer broke because they sent out a defective refurbished motherbord. so they broke my 1,200.00 computer. Then I called the hardware department again and spoke to A man named Gouhar and he said he was a manager. He was very incompitant and tryed to sell me everything. He told me He would give me a windows 7 computer instead of my windows vista computer which he would give me 6 free software programs but he said i had to buy a 239.00 software warrenty for them to install the software programs. So i paid the 239.00 which i could not afford because i have not worked in 6 years. He was so incompitant he put the software warrenty under someone elses name and address and phone number and wrong email address. The only thing he did right was he put it on my credit card. He said the 6 free software programs didnt come with the computer But he would give them to me because of all the problems i have had with the company. The 6 software programs were Microsoft office 2010, System mechanics for 1 year, malewarebytes anti maleware, Mcaffee, and 2 back up programs. When i got the refurbished computer it was all scratched up and had dirt in the computer between the keyboard and monitor screen. It broke in less than 24 hours. So they sent me another computer. Then they told me they couldnt fint the 6 free softwares the manager promised me. I was talking to the corporate office and they would not help me. one manager in the hardware department found the 6 free softwares and installed system mechanics but it was only good for 8 months not 12 months so i got ripped off 4 months there. Then i talked to someone in the corporate office and i told him that i didnt want 5 of the 6 free softwar programs because they lied to me about half of the or more. 2 of the 6 software programs were installed on my computer 2 weeks before my original computer broke. And Malewarebytes was not made by malewarebytes corp. like i told him i wanted. I can istall a free version of malewarebytes by malewarebytes corp. everyday of the year free. So i told the person in the corporate off ice that i would trade him the 5 software programs for 1 trend micro anti-virous titanium version for 3 computers. He said if i send you this will this make you happy and i said yes for this 1 issue not counting the 4 months they owed me for system mechanics. When I received trend micro it was only good for 1 computer not 3 like we agreed upon.. Then the beginning of september i called to have them look at my windows live mail to find out why i could not send a picture with my emails. The man in the software department was so incompitant he set my computer back to a previous date when it was working right. it was taking some time to restore it but the computer said do not turn off the computer whilew this is in progress. He wouldnt wait for it to finish. before that he turned off my anti virous and anti spyware program and didnt turn it back on before he reset my computer to a past date. then after a while he told me to turn off my computer manually. I told him it said not to do this but he insisted me to turn it off. So i turned it off and ever se-ince then the computer hard drive was getting ready to crash. then i called the hardware department and they checked my hard drive and said it was going bad and need to be replaced because they told me not to turn off the computer when we were doing what we were doing with the computer. So the incompitant person in the software department broke my computer. Then they send out someone to replace my hard drive. before that i call the software dept. to back up everything on my hard drive. they backed up most of it but he said he couldnt back up my system mechanics. And i kept telling him i will have major problems getting it put back on my computer because of what happened in april. and thats what happened. I called and talked to a manager and he said he would not do anything .. So then i told him i wanted to talk to the corporate office. They called me and was very rude and would not cooperate with me. I told them they broke my computer so they need to put back on my computrer the programs that came with my computer. Why should i be without programs when they broke my computer. they constantly want to transfer you to a different department which is always the wrong department of its a closed department. i have asked for someones name ans employee id number and at least 20 of them hung up the phone what i want is what i was promised system mechanics for 8 more months or a 30.00 refund. and i want my trend micro titanium version for at least 1 computer because in april or may they were supose to send me 1 for 3 computers and it was only good for 1 computer. And i want someone from the highest level department to fix when my computer hibernates. i must tell you they will tell you that i already got a refund for system mechanics. That refund was for 1 i bought in january 2011 and cancelled in january 2011 and refunded in jan. 2011 along with everything else i bough from them because i was so p***** off at there company. in april i was suppose to get system mechanics for 1 year from april along with 5 other free software programs my service tag on my computer H44PRP1 joe berning 1030 thunderbird ave cincinnati, ohio, 45231 513-522-7654 home 513-319-0636 cell only call this if i am not home

When our old computer died we used Dell Inc. to purchase a new one. We are very happy with it. We had very few problems. When we did have a problem with the screen, it was still under warranty. The issue was resolved in three or four days. Overall the experience was good.

Computer arrived and two letters on keyboard stick and fan on keyboard makes a terribly loud noise. Called tech support to request a technician to come out since I paid for the extra support where they promise a technician will come to the house and was told I would have to take apart the computer and count the number of screws. When I told them that I would not take apart the computer and it was impossible to fix a sticking keyboard key over the phone I was told that they would call me back. Still waiting!!!
