He arrived much earlier than anticipated and we ended up texting because I was indisposed.  He went ahead and started before I could get out to the garage.  He was done in 15 minutes.  Very professional and efficient.  Would definitely call again if needed.

Mike suggested I try turning off power to garage door opener, then retry. Worked great. Will always call them for repair from now on.

David called ahead of the appointment and showed up on time.  He introduced himself, inspected the damage, and gave a description of the proposed work and the estimated cost.  He proposed the simplest and least expensive option and explained the reason that part was vulnerable to damage and how the proposed solution would resolve the issue. In less than 30 minutes, the garage door was operating.  It is quieter than it has been in years. He re-set one of the remote control devices before he left. Great experience. Highly recommend this company.

Excellent!  Received the call, responded to the call, came out and did it exceptionally good and fast and reasonably price service.  As well as provided knowledge ahead of time that the only thing that might come up with this because of the age of this but due to the only cause about that and they put a sticker right above my door opener.  I was quite impressed how the professionalism and response and the speed  and seemly performance of the service.

They took my credit card on the phone, went and installed the new door in South Austin 78745 area, fixed the door opener for no charge while they were there, and supplied a new remote control.  They couldn't have made it easier for me, or done it faster or better -- jsut perfect!  And, what a deal; amazing price for all they did.
I used them once before at my personal residence as was similarly impressed then.  I wouldn't consider calling anyone else.  When you find the best you stick with them and I am happy to refer my friends, family, and acquaintances with confidence as I know they will be treated right.

My garage broke at 8pm on a Sunday, locking my cars in the garage! I called and they were out in less than an hour! He can in and fixed it in less than 30 min ( I thought the whole garage was ruined!) $100 for after hours AND the repair?!? He was soo nice and helpful!

My wife hit the last panel of the garage door while backing up my SUV and the door got stuck half way. I called Mick to come and have a loot at it. He showed up promptly within an hour (with a freeze temperature outside), fixed it temporarily and gave a quote to fix it. Worker showed up promptly and did an excellent job in replacing the entire garage door for a decent price. I am overall very impressed with the work done with Mike and his team.

I called other garage door people who gave us ballpark pricing on the phone. The office person at AMS was very kind and helpful, so we asked her to schedule an appointment for their rep to come see us. Mike told us we could wait until the spring broke and then call their company and said they would send someone out immediately--even at 3:00 in the morning. Since we'd had a garage spring break in a previous house, we opted to do preventative maintenance and asked him to bid for replacing the spring on the double door and installing a spring on the single car bay. He had the materials with him and did the work immediately. In addition, he gave a tutorial on upkeep, and did a tune-up of all the equipment.  Fantastic.

Ok on Saturday morning bright and early, just before we were to have a bunch of people out to the shop behind our home for a club meeting my teenager accidentally shuts the big commercial garage door on the shop on a table. The whole big, heavy door twisted and crunched and the drive train etc for the automatic door opener twisted. It really appeared that the door panels might fall off at any moment and we were in significant danger. I called AMS on their "emergency" line expecting to leave a voicemail and hope someone called me back - NOPE! Mike answered the phone, asked what the problem was and moved us first on his schedule - on a Saturday morning no less. He was at the house in less than 15 minutes and had the whole door straightened out and working in very short order - it was amazing to say the least. AMS doesn't charge extra for emergency after hour calls, and the workers were polite, very knowledgeable, honest,  and fast. The repair charge was only $110 - and considering we had been bracing for a very large repair or even replacement we were floored that the repair was so inexpensive (and so quick).
While they were there they inspected our 3 regular garage doors and pointed out problems with them and suggested we have someone come back and service them as they were in need of a good tune up. The technician (Mike) took the time to point out exactly what was wrong & why it was a problem but didn't turn it into a whole selling push - he just pointed out the facts and left it at that.
On Monday I called and scheduled an appointment to have them come back and fix the three doors as well as install a safety button on the main commercial door so my teenager wouldn't be able to do a repeat performance on our shop door (a recommendation from AMS). We specifically requested they send Mike again and he showed up with his assistant on time (actually just a little early) and they serviced all three doors, put the new switch on the commercial door, and inspected our automatic gate. Again they did just a fabulous quick job and the bill for all of that was also very, very reasonable.
If I ever need any garage door work ever again there is absolutely no question that I will call AMS---If i could give these guys more than one happiness award I could...just an awesome experience.

I called their number one Sunday evening expecting to leave a message and was surprised when someone picked up. I made an appointment for the following morning. The representative arrived on time and completed the work within thirty minutes.
I couldn't be happier with the experience.

No one had worked on the garage door / opener in the 5 years I've lived here.  Like most people, I wanted to avoid something like being stuck in my garage and needing to get to work.  I was mildly irked when no one arrived at the 9:00 appointed time.  Dave called, however, at 9:05 to say he was in route and would arrive by 9:30.  He arrived at 9:25.
Dave quickly assessed any needs, and explained that I should not expect any issues except for the spring on the door.  Given the age of the house and estimated life, he suggested that this may happen in another 3-5 years.  He also gave age expectations on the opener.  I had to ask him what a spring would cost; this was far from any kind of sales pitch.  Personally, I liked the information he provided.
He stated the cost for the tune-up - the same as espected, which included tax.  He estimated 20 minutes to complete the work.  Dave went to work and did exactly what I wanted.  In fact, this tune-up fixed a few things I had just taken for granted were normal.  I found this experience very professional and pleasant.  I will certainly recommend this company to others.

Mike came out and rescued our jammed garage door.  He got it "working"
so our stuff would be safe, but said that the door needed to be
serviced, and the motor gears needed replacement.  We have that
scheduled, and I am confident he will get the job done right.

Found AMS Garage Doors both on Angie's List and in our neighborhood recommended businesses list.  Called about 9:30 AM 1/28 to see if they could come repair broken garage door spring. Office staff very professional: quickly got the info she and I needed, in an efficient yet friendly way.  We were able to set up an appointment for 11 AM on the SAME DAY.  David arrived right on time, quickly assessed the problem, answered my questions, gave me an estimate, and went right to work -- he had everything with him.  He did the work efficiently.  Afterwards, he spent a few minutes educating me about the parts, their expected life, the need for scheduled professional maintenance, and the ongoing maintenance we should do ourselves.  He was very courteous and informative, but he didn't bombard me with a sales job, which I appreciated.  In answer to one of my questions, David told me that AMS is a family business, too, which I also appreciate and want to support.

After attempting to do the repairs ourself and making a real mess of it, Mike came out and gave us an estimate of $150 to $200 to repair both doors.  I thought it was very reasonable and was relieved to hear that was all it would cost.  The trip for the estimate was at no charge (that is a rare thing these days!).  Mike came back out the next day right on time, made the repair, was pleasant even though the temperature that day was over 100 degrees, had everything working perfectly and then charged $144.  How often does someone charge less than they estimated even though they know you have agreed to a higher price?  AMS is a company of the highest integrity.  There was no high pressure sale and no attempt to talk us in to any added on service we didn't need.  I highly recommend Mike and AMS and would not hesitate to call them again.

We called Friday and they said they came out Monday morning.   Im sure before I tried to work ont he door myself it would have been a very easy fix.   The door was really messed up and I figured the entire track system was going to need to be replaced.  (I bent it very bad.)

This company has clearly defined pricing on their website and according to what I thought we needed the repairs would total to over $700.  Mike and his assistant were able to not only save my door, but they straightened out the tracking (you can't even tell I trashed it) and fixed the bends in the door.  They also adjusted some tension and tuned everything up.  The garage is not as noisy, opens and closes better than ever!

This company could have easily stuck me with a bill for over $700 but they saved EVERYTHING for just over $100!

AMS garage is a professional and trustworthy company that will do great work, at an incredible priced.   They were also very friendly, through and professional.  I would not hesitate to recommend AMS Garage doors to anyone with an issue, big or small...they'll save you hundreds over the other companies that I have no doubt would have sold me a new system instead of tryign to save the old one.
