My project was for a fired rated door. I dealt with Angie, who was very professional, in scheduling Aron to be at my house Monday morning (2/22/16) to get the necessary measurements before getting materials. After speaking with Angie at 9am I was assured that Aron would be on his way soon to come take a look and take measurements that they were having a very busy morning. Eleven in the morning came around with still no call and no show. I called Angie again, and after apologizing, she let me know that Aron was at Home Depot getting materials and the store was having issues with their system. I asked her if Aron was actually getting materials for my door and why, since he had been to my house to take a look at the original door and take the necessary measurements. She guaranteed me that Aron knew that those doors were standard and that he had purchased a 36" door and would be at my house shortly. I let her know that my door was almost 34" and that a 36? would be too big. At the same time I let her know I was not happy how this was going because he should have been here earlier to measure first. She apologized, again, said I was right, and had no idea what was going on and would have him call me right away. Aron called and assured me that I would benefit from a 36? door because it would be easier to move items in and out of the house. I asked him how he planned on installing a 36? door in a frame that currently fits a 34? door and he said he would explain once he arrived. Once Aron finally showed up, close to noon, he took a look at the door and I let him borrow my measuring tape so he could see the actual width of it. He suggested, again, that I would benefit from a 36" door; however, I voiced my concerns about the current door actually being 34?, to which he replied that he would cut into the dry wall and make the entrance bigger. That was obviously not an option and I told him so. He then suggested a 32" door, but again, I let him know that it would obviously be too small. At this time, he was a little irritated and asked me what I wanted because it was obvious to him that no matter what he suggested, I was determined to dislike. By this time I was already frustrated and after his comment I said that I wanted a door of the same size and continued to tell him that I had already spent half a day waiting on them, that I had taken time off from work to be there and that he should have been at my house in the morning to measure, as agreed with Angie, and THEN buy the necessary materials, not the other way around. He finally admitted that he did not have me on his schedule and that it was not his fault. I told him that he needed to take that up with his scheduler, not me. That's when he said he didn't need this kind of stress and for me to find someone else to fix my door and walked out of my house. About 30-45 minutes later is when I received an email from Angie. She did apologize, once again and stated that ?this is the construction world and timing is never perfect? and that ?we do use the Outlook Calendar and for some reason your appointment did not sync to his calendar. Technology is also not a perfect thing.? However, none of these things would have been an issue had there been proper communication beginning with my 9am call instead of getting filler remarks about a busy morning and issues at Home Depot. Her email concluded with ?as stated on the estimate & invoice you were emailed and that you also sent a signed copy to us along with your deposit is our cancellation policy, which reads: "If you cancel within 48 hours of your project start date, there is a first hour charge of $125." Since we spent well over an hour traveling to Home Depot, purchasing material, and traveling to your home you will be refunded your deposit of $243.25 minus the $125 cancellation fee for a total refund of $118.25. It will go out in the mail today.? My unfortunate dealings with Shannco, did not end with me cancelling the project. Aron clearly stated he DID not need the stress and walked out. I did not, at any moment, ask him to leave. I only put in a call to Angie to let her know he had walked out and that I would need my deposit returned. They should have NEVER gone to Home Depot first to purchase any materials since they had not even looked at my door, or taken any measurements. I find this to be very bad business practice on their part and is unfortunate that they have to steal $125.00 from me this way. I genuinely wanted to give this small business an opportunity but this is what I got in return. What a SHAMECO!
Description of Work: The company didn't do any work. They walked out.
