Jason and his crew came out and fixed our sagging front porch. They were very down to earth and took pride in their work. They wanted to ensure that the areas they fixed would last for another 25 years. Very professional and fair.
Description of Work: Rebuilt rotten posts on front porch, fixed poor roof drainage, replaced rotten wood.

I had previously contacted another handyman (not through Angie's List) to do this work and he did not bother to show up or call and these were issues that had been bothering me for a while. They showed up when expected, were professional and courteous, and I was very pleased with the results. I will definitely keep Jason's contact information handy and call him as needed for projects around my house.
Description of Work: Jason and his helper took down a lattice atrium cover that had broken and was hanging down. They also fixed my front gate.
Got a call about an hour before they were to be there to let me know that they were on their way. They came in and I explained what I needed & they got right to work. It appears that everything was done well.
Description of Work: I had purchased a $89 coupon for two hours of handy man services. Since there were two men, it was a hour of work. I had them replace the metal mailbox on its wooden post, change out a bathroom door knob, repair a kitchen drawer that had fallen apart, repair a bathroom exhaust fan that was rattling, fill in a small hole in the wall near sliding patio door, and I asked questions about some other concerns that I had & they gave me info about what I might do.

What I appreciated most about Jason was his honesty. He told me that he could do all of the projects that were on my list, but without doing the foundation first, we would be throwing good money after bad. Jason and his assistant were professional and knowledgeable. After tackling the foundation issue, we will definitely call them to help us with the remodeling projects for our home.
Description of Work: Trimmed some doors, adjusted back door - I wanted to have Jason repair some cracks in the walls, but he told me that it would have be redone at a later date because we have foundation problems - ugh!

It went well. Jason called about an hour before his appointment and said he was running ahead of schedule. He could come now or wait till the appointment time. I told him to come on now. He arrived about 20 minutes after he called and got straight to work. I cut the doors and hung them within 20 minutes. Then he hung the house numbers and flag holder. I had to add to my list of what I wanted him to do. So he cleaned my dryer vent (wow, was it full lent! I feel like he prevented a fire and cut down my electric bill) Then he hung a shelf in my closet I had been intending on doing myself. He was quick, cleaned up after himself and performed the work professionally and well. I am fussy about work done on my home and was very pleased with Jason and his work. I will use him again..
Description of Work: Cut off two bi-fold doors and re-installed, mounted house numbers on brick, mounted flag holder on brick, cleaned dryer vent, hung shelf in closet.

Jason was great from the get-go and communicated well from start. He even saved me money with suggested project alternatives. He even got a deal on a storm door by noticing it didn't have hardware in box! Job was done in promised time frame. He and assistant were friendly and helpful and just good people. Will hire again for next round of repairs/upgrades.

I purchased this deal from Rapid Remodeling, Inc. for Two Hours of Handyman Services on July 21, 2014. I paid $89 for this service. On the following day, I received a voice mail from Rapid Remodeling Services indicating that they are not interested in the project because I had given them a couple of "B's" on their performances in a previous project that I hired them for. He indicated that he finds the grade offensive. I thought that the grade was relatively good. UPDATED RESPONSE: In March I purchased 2 hrs. of handyman service. I gave this company a B because he was mediocre compared to the other providers I had used. He called me back and was very rude to me because of the grade I had left. So I cancelled his services. I purchased another deal his company posted in August and I wanted to give it another chance. He called me a little after I purchased the deal and told me that he wasn’t going to do anymore work for you unless you give me an A rating. He left a nasty message and told me to get a refund for the deal. He also harassed me in text messages. I just feel like his customer service is very unprofessional and extreme. I feel that people really need to know about my experience with this company. I’ve never experienced anything like this with ANY contractor.

I'm sorry But to respond to the rating, please don't think the "b" grade was the reason. The reason was that you booked time with me and then cancelled the time slot which was for an entire day. I did consult Angie's list and they advised me that this was best for this particular job. I'm sorry I hope you can find another contractor to perform your tasks.

I wanted to have my old recessed can lights retrofitted with new LED kits. I telephoned Jason prior to purchasing the Big Deal in order to determine if he had ever installed any retrofit recessed LED's. He assured me that he had installed many of these retrofits so I purchased the Big Deal of 2 hours of labor well knowing it would probably take more than the 2 hours. Jason and his helper, Josh, arrived on time and immediately began working on the retrofits. They knew exactly what they were doing and wasted no time in completing the retrofit of all of my can lights as well as three spots. I also had them install a new ceiling fan in our study. They completed the job in 2 hours and the final price included 2 additional hours of labor since there were two laborers. Overall, I am very happy with both the services provided by Rapid Remodeling as well as the price and do plan on using them again for other projects. After utilizing their services, I can honestly state that you won't be disappointed if you hire this firm.
Description of Work: Provider installed 10 recessed can LED retrofits; 3 eyeball spot LED retrofits: removed/installed new ceiling fan.

I've learned the hard way that it is very hard to find a contractor that follows through with their sales pitch, and that actually exceeds your expectations. Fortunately I found Jason Gravitt and Rapid Remodeling after finally sucking it up and joining Angie's List rather than relying on Google reviews (which I am now convinced are all plagiarized by the actual contractors). From the very beginning I knew Jason was the real deal. We went through a remodel in the same bathroom less than 3 years ago which turned out to be a complete disaster...but when Jason came in, you could easily tell he knew his stuff. After getting a few competing bids, we chose Jason because he was not pushy at all, seemed very knowledgeable, and was competitively priced. Aside from that, he level of communication and response time is unheard of based on my previous experiences. Now the best part. I didn't have a $20,000 budget, but Jason made me feel like I did, and made it look like I did. In sum, he ripped out my old sheetrock behind the shower and tub, replaced with waterproof board (probably got the jargon wrong, but you get the point), retiled around everything, replaced my floor tile, and redid the baseboards. I have a very odd shaped bathroom so the tiling was no easy task, particularly with 18' travertine. But, not only did he literally get it all smooth as water, but around very difficult edges and corners he NOT ONCE actually cut the tile into separate pieces. He actually took the time and effort to cut perfectly into each individual piece to make it fit. Additionally, my prior contractor had completely messed up the frame-less shower I had installed the last time around. Jason salvaged the glass and actually put it all back together perfectly! I did not even expect this and had just given up on a perfect shower because I couldn't bring myself to buy another frameless set up. No need - Jason made it look brand new and perfect. He even fixed things that I didn't ask him to do that were previously done in a less than perfect manner (improved the line where my carpet met the tile, added some extra details to the tiling, etc.).And here's another of the best things. I'm picky, and I'm kind of a supervisor. I find things throughout the job and leave notes for the contractor (I'm never home when the work gets done), and almost always have to ask for things to be fixed after the fact. Never did I experience this with Jason. As I said, this is the first time my expectations have been exceeded by such a wide margin, that I'm still in shock. I'm just so used to "living with" a less than perfect product. No more...I will NEVER use anyone but Jason and Rapid Remodeling again, for anything (and yet one more excellent point - Jason is SO much more than just bathrooms. The guy does and knows just about everything). If there's anything he doesn't do (such as AC), he is upfront about it and doesn't try to "learn on the job" as other contractors will and probably has a referral. I also asked him to replace some carpet for me and he said while he could do it, just to go to Home Depot because he couldn't match their price on labor. How awesome and refreshing is that kind of honesty these days?I couldn't be happier to have found Jason because I have a lot of work to do (and to re-do from previous mistakes in contractor selection). A final point - the guy is trustworthy, and I'm not a trusting person. A day into the remodel, which took a total of 6 days, I just gave him a key to the house. If you do not at least shop Jason for any projects you may have, you are doing yourself a disservice. Thanks for everything, Jason! You are in a league of your own!

I purchased a deal from Rapid Remodeling Inc back in the spring. Jason, the owner, agreed to come out for the two hour gig. The day of the appointment, in late March, Jason called me to say he had been waiting and no one was home. He said he had been waiting 45 minutes. I surmised that my brother did not hear the doorbell from his bedroom. Jason drove away and then, lo and behold, my brother called back. It turns out Jason had arrived 30 minutes before the scheduled time and that's why he had waited 45 minutes. Jason had had to wait 15 minutes past the start of the appointment time--not 45 minutes for my brother to get to the door. It wasn't our fault he came super early and then had to wait more. Regardless, the appointment was for 2 hours so waiting 15 minutes past the appointment start time, though it is annoying, shouldn't have been a problem for Jason's schedule. Jason said he had already driven away and wasn't sure he would reschedule because his base was 45 minutes to get to us and he said it cost a lot of gas--something we feel he should figure into the cost of his business and not have agreed to take us on as customers if he felt that way. We had talked to him before he came out, so he knew where we lived but had agreed to come anyways and had not told us in the beginning it was far for him. How could we know that? Since he didn't want to return to our house to finish the 2 hours time slot that day, he said he would try to arrange to come back a different day in the next couple weeks when he was in the area. But he thought we should just contact Angie's to get a refund so he didn't have to come back. But we said we would like the work done so we said we would rather he come back. Had I known how hard it would be to get a hold of Jason I would've requested a refund immediately. My brother called him repeatedly in the ensuing days (I have screenshots of the days and times calls were made to Jason), with no response. Finally Jason arranged to come back out. But then Jason cancelled the second appointment (not us) & said he would have to reschedule. As you can imagine, with how difficult it was to schedule with him, he did not try to reschedule. Jason told us the following month that he was having issues with Angie's List. He didn't want to deal with AL and said our deal was expired, which it wouldn't have been had he responded to our many calls in the month before it expired or had he stuck around for the first appointment or not cancelled the second appointment. He told my brother he would deal directly with me and do a refund. Ok... We knew at that point the Angie's List deal we purchased was a waste. Then 2-3 weeks ago, he said he would refund us the full amount because he didn't want us to post a negative review on Angie's List but he didn't want to deal with A.L. anymore. He cited that we had missed one appointment and cancelled another (not true) causing him to lose money on gas a travel. At that point we said we just wanted our money back since he is so difficult to communicate with and deal straight with. I thought at first he meant AL would refund us. Then he said he himself would send us a refund check so as to avoid whatever problems he was having with AL, which he didn't explain and that's fine. We thought it was odd for him to write the check since I paid through AL, but I thought he was saying he had cut ties with AL so his check was our only option. We waited two weeks for his refund check. Today marks 2 weeks since he said it would be in the mail. I checked with him today again and Now he has changed his mind and said he never sent us a refund check because he wants Angie's to pay their portion so he gets his portion and doesn't refund us the whole amount. Again, poor communication on his part. I am getting fed up with his run around and don't know what to believe anymore. I do want our money back, as he didn't complete the job and it was not an expired deal when we had him come out and he hasn't been forthcoming or transparent. I don't know what our options are and I'm not trying to destroy his business, though after all his run-around, I'd like to write a review on AL. Regardless, he didn't do the work I purchased, I don't have a refund,I'm not clear on whether he is even still active on AL. I would like a refund but I don't know what is going on. Do I ask for help from Angie's List or do I have to deal directly with Jason if I have any hope of getting a refund? I don't know what his relationship is with Angie's List now. I don't know how to get our money back. This is first time we have run into something like this using Angie's List. Thank you sincerely and sorry for the long explanation and trouble

We strongly disagree with the contents of this review. I made 3 appointments and already invested 3 hours of drive time and 4 hours of appointment time and I still offered you a refund you didn't deserve it good luck any future contractors with this lazy you have to meet and continuously change appointments on last minute so you end up losing not only revenue from the job but also time lost for the day.

Jason, with Rapid Remodeling, was knowledgeable, friendly and conscientiousness. He and his assistant showed up every morning, worked all day, and completed the job in eight days. He gave us wonderful ideas and suggestions for the overall look of the bathroom. One ingenious suggestion he had to make better use of the space, was to extend our counter top beyond the 36" sink base to the adjacent wall. It looks marvelous, as does the entire bathroom, making the rest of my home feel more beautiful too. He worked hard to ensure we had use of our only shower for as long as possible. I highly recommend Rapid Remodeling to anyone needing handyman/remodeling work, and will be using them again for any future projects.

I purchased an Angie's List Big Deal for this service. He was right on time, did what he said he would do and did not try to up the price or anything. This handyman was excellent and very knowledgeable about a lot of different things. He could not have been any better.
Description of Work: I used Rapid Remodeling to change a lot of light bulbs that were too tall for my husband and I to reach. The person who came out also changed out a lot of door knobs I had bought and hung a picture. He also fixed the metal strip of edging under one of my doors so that we would not have dirt coming in the door or air conditioning going out.
