It was going very well until I was " pushed" to pay my balance in full before job was completed. I paid my balance IN FULL and I never saw Gary or Mike ( co-owners?) again. I was forced to take action on my own after waiting several days for my problems to be fixed by It's Your Floor.
I was left with a Master shower and two bathroom room sinks that were completely stopped up. I was forced to call my regular plumier to clear all my drains and correct problems ( at my expense ).
ALL, the electrical plugs in both sides of bathroom did not work ( a total of 10 ). Again, I was forced to call my regular electrician
to correct problems again ( at my expense ).
I was assured the painter would be back to touch up all newly painted areas damaged during remodeling.
Today, a month later I am still waiting for a painter.
After several stains on my Master Bedroom carpet I was told by the supervisor ( Sergio ) that my carpet would be cleaned and all stains removed. I am still waiting.
BOTTOM LINE-- DON'T PAY IN FULL UNTIL JOB IS 100% COMPLETED. I was so disappointed in this company I was so sure I could trust them and they would make things right. :(
I believe a company should be judged by how they take care of issues rather than how good of a job they can do. Anybody can do a great job. The true character in a company is how well they take care of their customers when issues arise.
I contracted Its Your Floor to replace approximately 130 square feet of granite in my kitchen. The finished work looks great. The backsplash is amazing.
I had asked Andrew, my salesperson, to be sure and have the guys cut the cooktop outside of my home. Research told me you should request this as it is very dusty to cut the granite inside the home. Unfortunately, this did not get relayed to the installers. Hole was cut in the kitchen area without anything being covered prior. Dust is to be expected for construction of this type, but some extra care could have been taken to minimize this and was not.
Within 2 weeks of the completion of the kitchen my stove just quit working. It is an electric flat glass cooktop. I was mad at myself for not replacing it at the same time as the granite due to the cutout issue. I attempted to reach Andrew to ask about possible troubleshooting ideas, and also wanted to order granite for my master bathroom. After leaving 4 unanswered messages, I went to the store in person. By this time I had already discovered that the electronics in the stove were burnt, therefore no need to burden Its Your Floor with this issue. I did order my granite December 8th from Danielle, but have not heard from Andrew still to this day. The granite was scheduled to be installed on the 15th of December.
I purchased a new cooktop for $850 which was a lesser model than the original Jenn-Air at $1500. Upon removal of the original cooktop it was discovered that it was not wired properly at the time of granite installation. Both black and red wires were not secured within the wire nuts. Heavy burn markings were present on the wires and housing. Fortunately, the breaker worked properly and tripped ? keeping the home from catching fire. I took photos into the store to show Gary (says he is the owner) the issue. He then tells me he is not responsible because he did not charge me to hook up the stove. He then proceeds to tell me about how they did not price the job correctly to begin with and cannot warranty stuff he does not charge for. Gary tells me he will check with his installer to inquire about how to handle this and get back with me by Monday.
Gary called me back to explain once again that they he cannot afford to do too much for me, but will offer me my vanity countertop for $200 off. I politely asked about the possibility of just splitting the difference with me. I was shocked at his response by stating, ?This is a take it or leave it offer.? I was unable to speak to him as he would continually cut me off. He also would not give me his insurance information, therefore not sure if he has it. All I needed to hear was an apology (which did not happen) and I may have accepted his offer, but his tone and arrogance was a complete turnoff.
He also explained to me that Andrew is hardly ever in the store, therefore it is very difficult for him to return calls. Andrew was readily available to me when I was considering the purchase of $4500 worth of countertops. When a business owner allows this type of excuse from his/her employees it should be a good indicator of the type of customer service future customers can expect.
Again, anybody can do a good job. The character of a company will always show in how they handle customer service when expectations are not met.
If I had just one criticism, it would be on the clean up after the job. There was some of the leveling cement on the paneling that had to be removed by us and some of the adhesive was not completely removed from the floor surface.
