. We were told it would take 5 week it took 19 weeks. Mark had us pick out stuff and he would install something else (e.g. door knobs) He told us the flooring we had chosen was out of stock and would be weeks before it came in and we had to pick out some thing else. We went to the store he used and there were 180 boxes of the flooring we had picked out. The painters got paint everywhere on the fireplace brick the newly finished patio and patio furniture and kept using the recycle bin as a trash can it is clearly marked recycle only. This company would be ok if you only have one thing for them to do. Their lack of organizational skills is astounding.

I've been waiting 6 months to write this review. 1. Job quoted to be complete in 6 weeks...actual time exceeded 21 weeks. 2. Very poor project management by Mark. Very little time spent inspecting the job site. 3. Left the cleanup to us. 4. Had to pickup and pay for material that was part of the estimate. 5. Now haggling over the final bill which was delivered before the job was completed. We've had more correspondence with Mark about paying the bill than getting the job accomplished. 6. At week 9 Mark met with me and said he was embarrassed by their progress and proceeded to take another 12 weeks to finish. 7. Average work time in a 40 hour week was 5-10 hours 8. For those considering this contractor for any work...buyer beware
The painting crew at Lancaster Brothers are awesome. I've used them before on 2 previous jobs and they don't disappoint. The same group of guys have been working for or with Lancaster Brothers for years. They will perform the job to your specifications and if you aren't sure of something they will provide some input, such as when we were deciding on the texture type for the walls and what sheen of paint to chose. They use Glidden paint and have a good rapport with the staff at the Glidden store on Edmonds Ln in Lewisville. (I went over to the store to pick some colors). Note: the Glidden store doesn't sell samples and is a store really for professional painters, however the manager there gave me some free samples anyways. Overall I'm very satisfied with this teams quality. Communicating with the whole team was easy (I got the lead guys direct cell number), everyone speaks english (no offense to non-english painters!) so we were on the same page during the whole job. A majority of Lancaster Brothers business is apparently insurance repairs, however I've only ever used them for home improvements.
Description of Work: Texture and paint the kitchen walls and patch the kitchen ceiling. Paint the baseboards in the entry, dining, living, hall and kitchen. Install new threshold at front door, re-install threshold at garage door. Re-install brick above arched window that had fallen out, patch mortar on outside of house where cracked. Replace wood sill and paint under kitchen window.

Lancaster Brothers Remodeling have done a lot of work for me in remodeling my whole house during different kinds. They've done such a good job for me, I don't even bother shopping around for another contractor, because I know the kind of service that they give and the quality of work that they do. I have nothing bad to say about them. They're very conscientious about the work that they do. They guy that does their painting for them is the same painter we used the last time we did the remodeling. If you can keep someone who's really good still working for you almost ten years later in a construction industry, that speaks a lot about their integrity and the way that they treat their employees. My project manager was different than the one that I had the other two times, but he was just as good as him. He was very conscientious about the work level that he wanted to see and what he wanted to have done and how he wanted to have it done. He would come in and check throughout the construction period. I ended up working at home at the time, so I was there while the work was going on. I'm very happy with the quality of their work.
Description of Work: They remodeled my bathroom. They took out the bathtub and put in a complete, walk-in full tile shower. They took out the vanity and built me a new vanity. They built a medicine for installation during the wall. They did all the plumbing. I had a huge mirror that we cut down and did two framed mirrors. They didn't have to do the flooring, because they did the flooring on one of their previous jobs with me.

There were two different teams, one for the newly built cabinets, one for the countertop. Both did excellent work, were very personable, really listened to my requests and explained things very clearly. I was amazed at their promptness and fair price. They were all related to each other, and for me (the customer) that meant they were accountable to each other, expecting top quality work from the other and quot;kin.and quot;
Description of Work: Due to kitchen leak under cabinets, I had to have lower cabinets replaced and new countertop/backsplash put on.

The Lancaster Brothers Remodeling were excellent and fabulous. They were at my house everyday and I was in touch with the project manager multiple times each day. They were superb in everything they did and the work was exceptional and timely. Their pricing was reasonable.
Description of Work: We had a foundation leak and so Lancaster Brothers Remodeling did the drywall while they were doing the carpentry and the floors and all the renovation work inside the house.

They started in December and already have done a bathroom. They did a fabulous job on the bathroom and won't be done for another three or four weeks. I love them; they are fabulous and I am more than thrilled. After I called him he called me back and then came to see me the next day; he was very prompt. They have been here at 8 every morning. I already referred this company.
Description of Work: I got a quote from Lancaster Brothers to clear out my laundry room, build a new pantry and put wood floors down. They also are going to paint and fix wall board; tons of stuff. They are putting my house back together.

We are still waiting for them to come and do the work. The fire happened in late October and they came and said that they would work up an estimate for the repairs and as of this day they are yet to give us an estimate to get anything repaired or help us along the way with various emergency repairs in the house. The house in unoccupied and there is a hole in the roof. In November I was demanding them to get somebody up on the roof and check the hole because it literally was raining in the house. They failed to take any action at all and I had to hire another contractor who has already been out and doing things. Unfortunately, they are still sailing to even provide a necessary estimate so that my insurance company and my new contractor can move forward. I am extremely upset with them because they have been unresponsive about everything. They were to make an estimate because the insurance company uses that estimate to determine the scope of what all needs to be repaired. Noting moves forward repair wise until that is done. I am guessing that the insurance company made this up, but in this case they were expecting their preferred contactor to do this. They were also to patch the roof properly. I told them that I needed that repaired and 12 days later I sent them an email telling them that I no longer was interested in using them and I was hiring another contractor for that. I have complained to the insurance company about the complete failure about their preferred contractor. All they have been able to do is apologize for not getting the estimate. It has been a real bad experience, and it is costing me money. I spoke to the guy named Jeff and had a discussion and arrived at either using a piece of metal to secure the roof or glue around to keep the water from going in. 12 days later they had still not done anything. We were under the agreement that they would fix the roof. A day after I sent an email they said they would have somebody come the next day to do the work on the roof. They did send a person and that visit went smoothly with the alternate contractors. They have at least been polite and for that I would not give them an F. However, they have been completely unresponsive. They have looked at the roof for two months and still have not been able to provide me with an estimate. I have argued repeatedly with them about not doing something and I have got apologies, but I have not got any legitimate excuses. They just never did anything. They only thing they have done is walk through the house with me and discuss the repairs. I would never use them again. They have with the insurance company prevented us from getting anything done at the home. Lancaster Brothers have not contacted me at all. If I call them, they will take a message and not call me again.
Description of Work: My father had fire damage at his house and the insurance company had recommended a preferred contractor which was Lancaster Brothers Remodeling. They are general contractors and they were to repair the upstairs portion on the house. There was a fire in the upstairs bathroom. There was smoke damage and the fire men's water damage and the entire upstairs had to be repaired which included three bedrooms and two bathrooms. I last time I contacted them was three weeks ago.

Response from Lancaster Brothers Remodeling
We appreciate the opportunity to respond to the above members report. At Lancaster Brothers, we strive to treat each and every customer with respect, dignity, and integrity. We have upheld this way of doing business since 1987 and will continue to do so moving forward. With deepest regret, we are sorry the above member feels this way about our company. Rather than defend the statements made above, we are happy to present the following facts in regard to the above mentioned complaint. Our file for this job reflects the following: We conducted 14 (fourteen) inspections of the home, including 4 (four) inspections with the above member. We were at the home the day after the fire occurred and we coordinated the dry-out and cleanup with the restoration company hired by the above member. On October 20, 2011, we were advised by the insurance company claim representative not to begin ANY work at the home until the cause and origin investigation was done and the scene cleared. On October 26, 2011, we received a phone call from an attorney representing the insurance company and were advised under no circumstances were we to begin any repairs in the home until the scene was cleared. During an inspection of the home, we were advised by the cause and origin expert not to go into the upstairs master bedroom or the upstairs master bathroom or “risk facing charges of tampering with evidence”. We followed up with the insurance adjuster in regard to the scene being cleared on 11-9-2011, 11-11-2011, and 11-17-2011. We were notified by the insurance company on 12-6-2011 that the scene was cleared and work could begin. Once we received clearance for repairs, we promptly contacted the above member and scheduled an inspection with him and the insurance company claim representative to agree on the scope of the damages. When we arrived at the home, another contractor was present and we were told by the above member that he was going to use them for repairs. In closing, the delay in starting repairs was due to the two month investigation being conducted by the insurance company. The insurance claim representative and Lancaster Brothers explained in detail to the above member that no work would be started until clearance was given by the insurance company attorney. If the explanation to the above member by a Lancaster Brothers representative was not clear, we take ownership of the issue.
