Description of Work: We have tree roots in our line that clog up every 2 years. They came out and haircutted our line so we have a flowing system.

 + -1 moreKaty Plumbing uses Fixed pricing for a Job. If they have to replace a Faucet the cost is x dollars plus the faucet you choose. This was appealing as we are in a house that uses black pipe for plumbing. these pipes can be difficult and even rusted. when they were doing the work on the shower valve they came accross this situation and dealt with it. On the second job replacing a rusted tub drain the plumber on site neeed a little extra help, Which I offered since I know how to do the work. This was not acceptable and another person was on site in 5 minutes. He helped out and was quickly on his way. Again I was very impressed with the service provided.
Description of Work: We've had Katy Plumbing do work for us several times and each time the work was very well done. One job ws to replace the water valve on a shower that was leaking and the other was to replace a rusted out drain. they do excellent work. Their prices are a little higher than the other quotes we rec'd but there is no nickle and diming going on. They performed all work for the price quoted. My dad was a pipefitter so I know plumbing, the valve on the shower was not an easy task. Great job.

Description of Work: I had a toilet seat c** bidet that failed. The plumber inspected it and refused to take any money for service fee even though he could not fix it. He suggested a replacement which I thought was extremely high and decided not to utilize them because of cost.

Description of Work: We thought we smelled natural gas in the house. Katy Plumbing came out and tested for gas outside at the meter, in the house, and in the attic (where the furnace and water heater are. They detected no gas, but we asked them to do a pressure test on the system anyway. The test was done and found no leak in the system. The smell has since gone away. The men who came out were friendly and helpful, answering all our questions. They even wore paper shoe covers while in the house. We will definitely call them

 + -1 moreI contacted Katy Plumbing to get a bid to do the plumbing for a bathroom addition. They were very courteous and prompt and came the next day to give me a bid. However, they bid the project $14,000.00 over the next closest bid. I think they gave me the "housewife price" since I am contracting my own project. They also took a set of my plans to formulate the bid, promising me several times they would return them. I called and emailed three times asking for my plans back, but a month later and they still have not been returned.

 + 0 moreThey were excellent and set a specific time to arrive here. They called ahead and were here on time. They arrived in neat uniforms, came in and introduced themselves; making sure I had their business cards. They determined after looking at my 7-year-old unit that replacement parts were no longer available so they presented me with options. I picked a mid-range model and they went right out, picked it up and within 45 minutes were putting in the new model. When they were done they left everything clean, neat and working fine. I was able to get them within a day after I called them; they have enough workers so that I can usually get someone very quickly.
Description of Work: I used The Katy Plumbing Company to replace my reverse osmosis system under my sink.

 + 0 moreI am pleased with the work overall. The job cost more than I anticipated, due to the issue being more extensive than we originally thought. The technicians did save us some money on the job by not charging us for the use of one of their pieces of equipment, which was apprx $190.00. My only complaint was that it took longer than originally quoted (over a week as opposed to 4 days) and the miscommunication regarding where to dig the trench.
Description of Work: Sewer-pipe replacement; toilet repair; shower handle replacement We had a toilet that would not flush. We tried plunging and a pipe snake but that did not help. Plus, the handle in to the shower in our master bath broke off the same week. The gentleman I initially spoke with on the phone was pleasant, knowledgeable and scheduled technicians to come as quickly as they were able, which was apprx. 2 days later. The technicians were prompt and friendly. He looked at the master bath fixture and explained that they would have to special order a part, since I did not want to replace the entire unit. (To replace would have required sheet-rock and tile work that I did not want to have done at this time.) The toilet in the 2nd bathroom turned out to not be a simple clog. The technician suspected an outside sewer-line issue, possibly roots in the pipes, because the water in my toilet bubbled whenever I turned on the sink faucet. He explained the cost of using the heavy-duty snake, plus the use of a camera through the pipes to see what the problem was. Long-story short- we had a broken sewer line caused by tree roots. Katy plumbers had to have a crew dig a trench on our side yard so apprx. 20 feet of sewer pipe could be replaced. The crew did a good job digging and refilling the trench after some inital questions regarding where to dig. The plumbers did not mark the area in my yard needing to be dug up, because the plumber said he ran out of spray paint. A call to Katy Plumbers got the situation handled. The toilet flushes now, and we have new pipe that is should resist roots better than the original pipe it replaced. The shower handle had to be re-ordered because the handle that the plumber brought out was not the correct replacement part. The work did get completed and the handle works well.

 + 0 moreI had noticed water dripping from a pipe outside our master bath, but knew it wasn't from the bathroom. Most likely suspect seemed to be the water heater upstairs. Upon checking, I found that the pan beneath the heater was full of water. I called Katy Plumbing Co., and they said someone would be out later that afternoon. I got a call just a little bit later that the service men were available even earlier, and could head to my house immediately. Mark D. and his tech (can't remember his name) arrived promptly and checked out the heater. They discovered that the inner tank was almost completely rusted out at the bottom, and was in imminent danger of pretty much collapsing into itself. Since we knew the heater was at least 12 years old, my husband and I already figured we were going to have to replace it, so we were prepared for that. Mark priced us two different new water heaters, and described the pros and cons of each very clearly. After we made our choice, Mark left to get the new heater while his technician stayed to begin draining the old heater. The new heater was installed, with a deeper drain pan, and they also widened a hole in the ceiling where a pipe went through, since Mark said it was a fire hazard to have the wood of the ceiling that close to the pipe. The replacement was done quickly and efficiently, and they left the area at least as clean as they found it, if not cleaner! We have used Katy Plumbing Co. several times, and have always been very pleased with their service, professionalism, and genuine care for their customers. (We do have a Service Agreement with Katy Plumbing, which gives us priority scheduling)

Plumber Mike and his crew were at my house within hours with a new water heater and got the job done in about three hours. No mess, no cleanup, no worries. Very professional services by plumber Mike. I am not sure how competitive the price was as I did not compare with any other company. But they were quick and efficient.

 + 0 moreThe plummer provided prompt and professional service. He cleaned the clogged pipe which fixed the problem. He did recommend we consider flushing the line which we declined because of the holiday season. However, I will consider the option after the first of the year and will use Katy Plumbing for that service.
Description of Work: The Kitchen left sink would not drain and using the disposal in the right sink did not help. The dirty pipe was disconnected, cleaned and reconnected. The left sink drained properly after the cleaning.

 + -1 moreTech was very professional and really did try to get my existing disposal to work. He offered a couple discounts and even offered to call his supervisor to reduce the cost of replacing the disposal.
Description of Work: I had them come out to see if they could get my garbage disposal unstuck. Though the tech tried, he couldn't loosen the blades. He then gave me a quote on the cost of a new disposal and cost of labor. The cost was near $450 after discounts. I learned a very expensive lesson several months ago with a different company and told the tech I would need to do some research and check costs with others. I called around and found several quotes less than half the price, one of the others assured me he could get the blades unstuck at just the cost of the trip fee. He did. I don't know how he did it without ripping it away from the sink. So I don't think the tech was trying to make some money off me. However, the cost of the replacement was excessive.

They wore little red booties over their shoes and kept everything very clean. He was very professional. It was done in no time. He showed us what happened so that we could understand why the other things that we bought didn't work (they weren't strong enough for the clog). The process was great! I mentioned Angie's List and he said that they get a lot of referrals from them. Now I know why! I wouldn't hesitate to call them again. Great experience.
Description of Work: We had a clog in our kitchen sink. I tried everything that had at Home Depot to fix it...from liquid products to the long snake. Nothing worked. After going on Angie's List, we saw the great reviews for this company. Since we are in Katy, I always try to support our local business owners.

 + -1 moreI called the day after Thanksgiving, after 5:00, and got the owner. He was very helpful, letting me know that they could come out Saturday afternoon if needed, but informing me of the holiday weekend service call fee (which was considerably less than others I had talked to), but said that if it could wait until Monday, there would be no service call charge. His dispatcher scheduled me for a 2 hour window Monday morning, and got my email address, explaining that they would email me the picture and profile of my technician the day of service, which I greatly appreciated. The plumber arrived (looking very clean and neat), and I described the problem. He spent about 15 minutes looking around and diagnosing the issue. He informed me that he didn't have any solenoid valves on his truck with him, but he had turned off the water to my sprinkler system at the main valve so it would no longer leak. He charged me NOTHING for his time spent diagnosing. Given the professionalism and how well I was treated, I will definitely call them again!
Description of Work: Called them out to diagnose a leak (thought it was our water main). Determined it was in the sprinkler system, likely a solenoid.

Price was very reasonable therefore he was hired. Gave us very good news, there was no root in our drain, the issue was with our MUD District. Very professional, knowledgeable and prompt. My neighbor was also having plumbing issues, after meeting Greg did not hesitate to hire him to go to his house after he got done with mine. Will definitely call them and recommend The Katy Plumbing Company.

 + -1 moreI don't know how long the water had been leaking was working on my garden and went around corner and found ground soaking wet with puddles. I went into the house and no water leaking in the house. I know how to turn off my water in the house but not from outside of house. I called Katy plumbing and talked to an actual person on a Sunday evening. She even instructed me if I hadn't heard back from plumber in 20 minutes to call her back. I did get call from plumber who said he would come out but it would be $150 emergency charge, but would be free inspection on Monday. I told him I didn't know how to shut off water to house and would pay the emergency price. Plumber arrived in about 1/2 an hour and after looking at problem said it would be $460. I asked plus $150, no that included the $150. I told him to go ahead and do the repair. It was getting dark and I did feel back about that. Not only did he repair the leak he put a very easy handle on the outside that can be turned off if needed, nice extra touch. He explain to me what the problem was some joint had split. I apologized for having him come out but he did say the spilt may have become larger with the water leaking all night. I was very pleased with the prompt service and the fixing of my problem.
Description of Work: Notice a lot of water on outside of my house where line comes in. Needed to have line repaired that was entering my house.

Based on my previous experience with plumbers (not in the Houston area) I was very well pleased with the service offered and work performed. Told the serviceman he was expensive, but the services performed were well done and would have taken me three or four times as long, plus I would have spent money buying supplies and tools to get the job done, therefore the expense was worth it!
Description of Work: Installed a new kitchen single-lever faucet and repaired a bathroom fixture that was leaking. Also purchased their protection plan.
