I called Southern Painting and spoke with Tom. We set up an appointment for an estimate which was completed the next day. The price was negotiated and the date set for the crew to begin. I had talked with a couple other companies prior to making a decision and I chose Southern Painting. I chose Southern Painting since they were very expedient in providing a quote, negotiated the price, and were very easy to contact every time. In addition, I read their customer reviews on Angie's List. The crew foreman spoke English which was a big plus! They were a bit late showing up for the job but did a fantastic job prepping my house for painting including patching, re-caulking, and powerwashing. They spent one day prepping my house and then one day to paint it. I was very impressed with the prepping since they spent a great deal of time and effort in re-caulking, covering nail holes, and covering up everything that should not receive paint. After the painting was completed; we walked around the house and pointed out a couple of small places to go over & / or re-caulk. Everything was done to perfection and I was very happy with their service. They made sure that I was happy with their work before signing off. I would most definitely hire Southern Painting again and I have recommended them to my friends and family. I will hire them again the next time I need painting done.

I was very impressed with Neil, my main contact, and the crew that did the work. They painted the whole exterior of the house which involved a lot of staining and converting stained wood to paint. Neil was always very prompt and courteous. The painters were very thorough and I appreciated Jose, the crew chief, offering his suggestion when asked. The price was in line with other quotes. They were recommended by our neighbors who were also very pleased. I would definitely use them again. We were very happy with final product.

Charlie showed up to estimate the job quickly and did a great job of explaining how they would tackle the repairs in our two story foyer where the damage was. He had great suggestions for where to stop the wall color, which was going to have to be matched using a paint chip, since it was painted years ago by the previous owners. Throughout the estimate process I felt like Charlie really knew his stuff and for me, slightly freaked out by the unsightly water stains and wall damage, it was reassuring to hear that it could all be repaired good as new. We had received one other quote that was within $30 of Southern's, so we knew their bid was fair. On the day of the job Charlie came to show Manuel and his crew the scope of the work and they got to work adding plastic and drop cloths everywhere. Not a drip of paint ended up on my walls, baseboards, floors or furniture thanks to the thorough job they did protecting everything. I appreciated that ladder safety was a priority and every time one crew member was on a tall ladder in the 2-story great room another crew member was at the bottom of the ladder making sure it remained stable. They painted a huge area of ceiling, most of it in the 2-story areas, and it is flawless. No trace of the water damage from the A/C leak. They also scraped and retextured areas of the wall where the water had come down behind the paint. The paint color ended up matching perfectly and you cannot tell where the seam is between the new paint and old. They also filled in nail holes and fixed a gouge in the sheetrock at the corner of the stairwell. After the crew left and the paint dried I noticed a couple of bumps in the wall and a drop cloth on a ledge that was too high for me to retrieve. I took a couple of photos and e-mailed Charlie, wondering if the bumps could be fixed. He e-mailed me right back and said he'd send the crew the following day to do the punch list. The workmanship was outstanding and so was the customer service. I will definitely be using Southern again.

Southern was one of three companies bids were requested. All bids were fairly close, however, we liked the detail bid form that Southern Painting provided. It listed every thing included in the bid. The representative Mr. Charlie Gauzer was very experienced and check over and explained what was to be done. Due to the weather there was a slight delay but once the weather improve Mr. Marcos and 3 man crew came out and immediately started power washing the outside, while part of the crew started painting in the ceilings. Crew was very efficient and finished the job late that afternoon.

They did a wonderful job and were very responsive to my concerns.We had a few problems with some troublesome conditions but everything was corrected in a timely manner. I was very impressed with their sheetrock repair as I cannot even see where it was repaired. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

Extremely well = I requested a free quote, the representative showed up the next day and provided it. I was told that if selected them as the contractor I could go to the local painting store and pick up free color samples to decide on. I was also told the time frame for the job would be exactly 4 days. I thought the color I selected was the right choice, however when the lead painter applied it to a small area of the home I was not happy with my choice. To my surprise he pulled out a color paint grid chart and suggested a color for both the house and trim. I went back to the paint store and obtained the samples. The paint team waited patiently for my return then again painted a small area of the home. It was the right choice and not what I would have expected from the paint team. I thought that they were there just to paint the home but it was clear that they were knowledgeable about paint selection as well. The job started on time as promised and last 4 days exactly. The house stands out from all the others on our block and has the most curb appeal. Everyone from the sales rep to the painters were professional, courteous, and punctual. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE...OMG.. THE OWNER HAS CALLED ME TWICE ON MY JOB THIS AM I HAVE ASKED HIM TO STOP AND THEN I START GETTING TEXT FROM HIM ..WITH HIS FEB. SCHEDULE BOOK HELLO WE BOOKED FOR MARCH.HE SAID ON THE PHONE HE CALLED ANOTHER CUSTOMER THAT THE SALES MAN DID THE SAME THING TO !!! THIS IS NOT HOW TO DO BUSINESS THEN ASKED IF WE HAD SOMEONE DOING THE JOB....YES THEY CAME WHEN YOU WOULD NOT AND I HAVENT HAD TO GO TO A HOTEL OR MOVE ALL MY BELONGINGS IN THE GARAGE ...I HAVE HAD MY OTHER HOME PAINTED TWICE THIS IS BY FAR THE WORSE COMPANY I HAVE EVER DELT WITH

They did a poor job and didn't show up when they said they were going to. The contract painters that came out here did his best to get the job done, but the company itself, including management and the sales staff, were problematic. They worked the first day and were supposed to come back the next day, but the salesman sent them to do another job first before they came back. The painters actually apologized to me when they showed up later. Management offered to give me some money back and I told them to keep the money, that I just wouldn't use them again.

I had some very special requests on this job. 1) home office - 3 walls one color; 4th wall 2 colors with a horizontal stripe. This wall was then coated to become a dry erase wall. 2) master bedroom - ceiling and walls 3) master bath - celing and walls All work was done and I am very happy!!!! The home office looks fantastic. The stripe is clean and edges crisp.Work was cleaned up nicely .. and paint cans labeled so I know which is which in the future :-) Thomas was good in consult... I was torn on colors to use in master. His suggestions were sampted and the result looks great!

Southern Painting did an excellent job! very nice and reliable people! Would definitely hire again.

This company is awesome. Thomas was extremely prompt in getting back to me on all fronts - providing the estimates, advising on paint color, checking in frequently while the work was being carried out and making sure I was satisfied with it all - everything. A very professional operation with polite workers who actually care about the work they're doing rather than just slapping on paint until they get to the next job. I will use them again for the exterior of my house and garage when I get to that stage. I would recommend Southern Painting to anyone.

We would highly recommend this company to anyone. Their work was first class....delivered what was expected and end product was above our expectations. The painters were very meticulous.

This is my third visit with this company. My first visit was to match texture to the ceiling of two rooms and paint the ceiling. The second visit was after I had the house re-piped. Southern Painting came out to replace drywall, matched textures on walls and paint. I provided the paint. They are professional and I was not worried with them being in my home with or without me there. I would use them again and have referred them to several co-workers.

It went well, used good quality paint and were professional without any issue. They even cleaned out my gutters at no cost.

Nice job, good coverage on dark colors. Ceiling looks great too.

Southern Painting showed up on time to provide a bid for replacing rotted trim and painting the exterior of our home. I requested that they include actual footage of the trim material that they were proposing to replace so that their bid could be compared to others. The day that they provided the estimate they said they would perform my project for $3,440 and would provide a quote via email which would include the details that I requested. I received the quote promptly. However, the quote that was submitted the next morning was $3,710 and INCLUDED $300 of "Misc/Judgement" and EXCLUDED the details that I requested of the footage of Hardi material that was included in their bid price. Other contractors were happy to provide these footages. I wrote them an email response to their email bid and asked them to remove the $300 of Misc/Judgement as we would use "change orders" for materials identified outside of their bid and to provide the detailed footage of the amount of Hardi that they planned to replace. Southern Painting did not respond to my request and were eliminated from my acceptable contractor list.

The first day I stayed home in a separate room working on my computer while they worked in my common rooms. I had the Living room, halls, dining, entry, & kitchen all painted different shades of grey with the paint lines in very specific places. (rounded edges on the walls probably made this difficult. BE AWARE before you go buy samples that Southern Painting goes to buy the paint in the colors you want. so before you jump the gun like I did. WAIT to choose your colors out of their HUGE selection. They use the highest quality paints in any finish you want! I got flat, and I'll never go back. The painters protected my floors (even though i'm getting them replaced and told them not to stress about it) and protected ALL my furniture perfectly! I will definitely trust them with my NEW floors & NEW furniture! they went behind the fridge and got all the little details I was nervous someone would miss! There is only one SLIGHT note that I thought was unusual. I have textured walls, I know this makes painting a nightmare, and probably makes painters tape useless, but i was hoping they'd use it anyway? the paint lines look AMAZING though, and NONE got on my ceiling or trim or fireplace mantle. so these guys KNOW what they're doing! But the OCD person in me sort of expected to see them using it? but honestly its BEAUTIFUL and if I hadn't been here to see them do the prep I would've never known they didnt use tape to make the lines they made. I stayed home the first day of painting, but the second I was in and out while I ran errands and did other things, and completely trusted these guys in my house. I kinda wish I would've got some bottled water because the hostess in me sees people in my house and immediately wants to help/make it easier/better.... they were working their butts off to get it finished ASAP and they did! one day 8:30am- 5pm then the next they were done by noon! They cleaned up their paint supplies & the floor prep work & were gone and left me with a BEAUTIFUL home! :D I'm sooooo happy!!!! The painters were SUPER professional and nice and I DEFINITELY plan on using them again when we get the bedrooms/bathrooms painted! (after I buy furniture, after all a girl needs priorities haha)

We had an excellent experience. The crew was very polite and skilled. They worked efficiently and cleanly, and we felt comfortable having them in our home. The owner, Thomas, stopped by during the job to check on things, and again after the job was completed to make sure we were happy. When he was examining their work, he pointed out some finishing work that he felt was not up to par and immediately scheduled a painter to return and finish it according to their high standards. I didn't have a chance to bring it up! We would use this group again!

Very punctual and professional. While we opted to go with another contractor, Southern Painting would have been our second choice.

Thomas and his crew were outstanding from start to finish. The crew arrived on time and finished the job on time. They were all very professional. They didn’t just paint but repaired the ceilings in my kitchen and hallway area, where I had the existing light fixtures replaced. They also caulked in areas that needed it. Their work was fantastic and their attention to detail was exceptional. The house was clean at the completion of the job. This was one of the best experiences I have had working with a contractor. I’ve already recommended Southern Painting to one of my colleagues. Thanks again for an excellent and professional job and I’ll let you know when I plan to get the other rooms painted.

Thomas and his crew did a great job. I had two bids for painting my entire house and Thomas' price was significantly less expensive than the other bid. Besides the price, another thing I really liked about Thomas was that he took the time to sit down with me and find out what I wanted done, talked about the job and what it would entail, how long it would take and helped with color selections. The gentleman from the other company was in and out in about 15 minutes and said he didn't have time to sit and visit. I recommended Thomas to one of my neighbors and they had him paint the outside of their house. I talked to them later and they were also was very pleased with him and the job his crew did.

Working with Thomas was wonderful from start to finish. This was my first experience with painting of any kind and he walked me through the whole process, showed me how they did the pricing, ran multiple quotes for different scenarios I wanted, and even spent 1-2 hours choosing all new colors/textures for my house after testing the ones I wanted were ugly. All of his advice made me feel very comfortable through the entire process. When the painters came, they were very professional and completed the job a half day early. There was one small issue of them spitting sunflowers seed on the floor, but after alerting Thomas they cleaned it right up. Finally, the finished product of my house is amazing. It was all well done and when investigating with a close eye, I can't really find any faults. Well done.

They did what they said they were going to do and they did a good job.

Sent a request in via their website on the night of 5/27. Thomas called me the next morning 5/28 and was able to come out on 5/29 to give me a quote. His price was very reasonable and took into account that I had already purchased paint. The fact that Thomas was prompt in all communication was very refreshing. The work was performed on 6/2 and I'm very satisfied. His crew showed up at the designated time, and immediately got to work taping up my furniture and floors. They were very courteous and got the job done at a quick pace, while taking care to make sure that corners and edges were painted properly. I'm very pleased with the work and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Mr. Windham came out to my house right after my first call for an estimate. His estimate was competitive and I had several neighbors who liked his work. He was able to schedule the work to meet my schedule and was very prompt in answering my phone calls when I had several questions. The work was done on time and within the estimate, plus his team did some needed repair work. They cleaned up the area and did not leave me with any messes. My house looks great and I am happy with the work. I would definitely hire his team again.
