Custom Painting

The person who did the quote arrived very quickly after I submitted my request and e-mailed me the quote promptly. I hired the company a week or so later. The painters arrived promptly to start the job on 6/13. There seemed to have been somewhat of a glitch in communication within the company as they initially thought they were there to power wash my house only. However, the workers quickly resolved this by a phone call and proceeded to power wash the house. Unfortunately, all of the power washing caused the GFI circuit to trip when a power tool was plugged in to start the carpentry work. It took several hours for everything to dry out to the point that the circuit could be reset without immediately re-tripping. It would have been preferable if the power washing had been done the day before painting was to commence. After that the rest of the first day went smoothly. Most of the actual painting was done the second day. The paint itself looks great. Actually far better than the paint job done by the company I hired seven or either years ago. So I have no complaints about the actual paint job. In the interest of fair reporting though, there was one unfortunate problem caused by one of the workers. I had a tall bush on the side of the house where some of the foliage touched the painted portion of the house. Instead of just trimming back the part touching the house, the worker who did the trimming cut off branches facing away from the house, down to the three or four foot level, but left tall bare stalks with green leaves on top. The result was anything but aesthetically pleasing. The worker never really explained why he did such an extreme trimming job on the shrub. I took photos of the shrub and e-mailed to the company. I was told that the worker should have only trimmed the bush back a foot or so. Due to the extreme pruning job, the President, Anthony Arozo, promptly offered to remove what was left of the shrub and replace it with a shrub of my choosing. He also agreed to have the trimmings hauled away. Because of management's prompt response in resolving the problem, I would hire the company again. I also understand that the worker in question was to be instructed in proper procedure for trimming bushes in the future. Fortunately, this was a bush on the side of the house and served a utilitarian function. However, I would advise anyone with any prize bushes or trees that they might want to closely monitor any trimming, or, better yet have it done before work starts. All in all I am pleased with the job. Plus I was very pleased with management's willingness to correct the problem by replacing the bush. So, I am not giving them a negative rating because of the bush incident. However, I did slightly lower the rating because of what seemed to be some communication problems with the scheduling and the fact that the worker in question did not seem to be apologetic in the least for basically butchering my bush. However, I definitely give management an A for their responsiveness in correcting the problem without any argument.

It was good. He was able to do two rooms and I was hoping to do more, but the price was too high. He did great work. However, he didn't double coat - he just kept going. By the time it came to do the double coat, he had run out of time.

Everything went well. All three rooms look great.

Out painter did excellent work. He not only did the job to perfection, he even cleaned up the mess as if no one was ever in there. Great work!

Painters arrived on time, prepped the areas to be painted, and got to work. I wanted four rooms painted, and they did not think they would get to all, but they did. The were great with the details and cleanup and worked the entire eight hours except for a short lunch break.

They were very professional and polite. I originally purchased the big deal and after they finished I decided to ask them how much more it would be to paint some other rooms . Their prices are very fair . I would recommend them

Custom Painting were really good. He was professional and management was very responsive. They offered a promotion of eight hours of painting of anything I wanted done. I was pleased with the amount of work done.

Everything went well 1 guy painted two whole rooms with percision and accuracy. I was impressed and have gotten high praise from friends, who has visted the home after the paint job

The provider performed as expected and did a great job. Refund is because I upgraded to more expensive package with the same provider. I was told that I needed to purchase the upgrade and that the original but would be refunded.

Our experience could not have been better. The two painters arrived on time and in one day had painted our large master bedroom and gameroom (both with high ceilings). The painters were professional and courteous and worked so fast that we could hardly believe they did as much as they did in one day. Their work was so good that we got a quote for some sheetrock repair and additional painting and they will be back this week to do more painting for us. Their price was half of what another company quoted us, and the quality of their work is outstanding. if we weren't moving we'd hire them again in the future without any hesitation.

They did a FANTASTIC job. I was very impressed with not only the quality of work they did but also with the the respect they had for my home. They moved all heavy furniture and put everything back before they left each day. At my request, they touched up the baseboards in the master bathroom that my builder never finished without hesitation and at no extra charge. Everyone involved in the process was courteous and polite. I would recommend to anyone.

Everything went great. We were very pleased with the price and service.

They did a great job. Everyone on the crew was professional and friendly. They did a great job prepping the area to protect the floors and countertops. My kitchen looks brand new with the painted cabinets and walls, huge upgrade from the wallpaper and worn wood cabinets. The only downside was it took longer than we had expected, but it was because of their great attention to detail. I will definitely use them again in the future.

Anthony had painted our entire 2nd floor about 18 months ago, and had done such a wonderful job whilst working around other men doing flooring and laying carpet, that is was a no-brainer to call him to come do this week. As usually, Stefan came out to look at what we wanted done and give us an estimate . He also made some suggestions and options which we had not thought y's and which ultimately looked much better than our original ideas. All Anthony's painters are professionals and do an excellent job. They are punctual, hardworking, and reliable. Next time we plan to paint, we will call them, again!

I initially talked with the owner who sent an estimator out to the house. The estimator verbally stated that 2 panels would be replaced to correct 1 water damaged eave for $260. But the worker only replaced 1/3 of one panel and 2/3 of the other panel (now looks like much shorter panel than the original panels). And I had to tell worker to remove wood piece that he had added because the length was too short and he was caulking the space. Called to talk to owner who never called. Instead estimator called and said that he initially told me he would replaced 2 ' 2 x 2'. I insisted that he come to house to review the work and at that time he said that he told me he would replace ' a ' 2 x 2. So I had him measure the L-shaped area. Then he responded that one side was less than 2 feet and the other side a little more than 2 feet. He agreed to give me a discount bringing the price down to $200. I receive an invoice for $420(included additional work performed on 2nd eave & and garage side-sideboards.) I called the office to see if I could pay by phone (although the invoice did not have an invoice# on it) and the young lady said yes and told me that I owed $430 instead of $420. I asked to speak with owner; she said that she would have him call me; but she called back it is $420. I decided to put a check in mail instead of giving my credit card number. So I will not contact them again simply because of the confusion (not a clear explanation) of the estimation.

They did an exellent job with the walls. They were also dependable and professional.

He is really good. He will actually give you a list of references when you go to hire him. He is very accessible and responsive. They just did over all great job.

Overall, they did a very, very good job. They did excellent prep work and were very clean. I was especially pleased with the carpentry work -- the quality of the carpentry work on the baseboard was much better than another company that installed crown molding in two other rooms in my house. Their price was very reasonable for the scope of work and the excellent preparation that they did. I give them four stars instead five for two reasons: 1) I allowed myself to be persuaded to use Sherwin-Williams paint instead of Benjamin Moore because I don't like the sheen of BM paint. But Sherwin Williams doesn't have the level of color saturation of BM and even after an extra coat, I think I can still see the ghostly presence of the previous paint colors. Also, Sherwin Williams Duration has application problems leading to uneven surface appearance. I only discovered after the process was all finished and I noticed the uneven appearance. Inwent back and found an exact description of the problem in online painters' reviews of Duration. 2) I still have gaps around some of my wall switches that were not filled. Drives me crazy to look at holes in the wall every time I switch the light on and off. And because Duration can't be touched up, I can't just call them back to fill in the gap with spackle. The entire wall has to be painted. I really wish that I had paid the extra money to get better paint. I will hire them again to paint my kitchen when I get around to replacing my countertops, but I will not be using Sherwin Williams again.

Overall experience was okay. Never met owner....only had phone calls with him. Owner was professioinal, but not very personable.

The ceilings the walls the cabinets everything was painted. We just finished with them and we love them; actually we were going to go on Angie's list and give them a real good grading. They were on-time and they were very careful with our belongings and they were very polite and they finished their work day early.I'm finding little tiny bits and pieces of trash around which I would prefer were not there. The general cleanliness and cleaning up on the daily basis was good.

I thought they were very good and timely in their work. They were professional and I would recommend their service. They did what they said they would do.

Experience was not without its challenges. Partially my fault, in that I provided paint colors the morning of the job. But I DID ask if I could provide final choices that late and was told it was fine. Painters showed up and I helped them get pieces moved, then I went to manage my dogs. When I returned they were painting the bedroom and powder room the wrong color (I has chosen a darker color first and then changed it to a lighter shade the morning of and told Stefan so). Turned out Stefan had texted the painters my choices, but they didn't get the text until hours later. But they said they would go buy the new paint and redo it right away. I ended up staying with the darker color in the bedroom (I was surprised how much I like it in there) but agreed the powder room needed the lighter color. They were gracious and hard working, staying until it was done in one day (I had been told it might take a day and a half). I will definitely make my final color choices sooner next time, and I will definitely use them again.

I went to Angie's list and got the company. I called them and a man came out that same day, walked through the rooms I wanted painted and gave us a bid. It took him maybe 10 min. He told us to get samples of the colors and put them on the walls to make sure we liked them. It took us 2 weeks and quite a few samples from Sherwin Williams to make our decisions. I called Custom painting and told them we were ready to schedule a time. They gave us a time for the men to come to paint. The painters showed up when they were scheduled, got the painting done in 2 days. They moved furniture, covered up what needed to be covered. They were very neat and careful. I would definitely have them again. I paid them what the bid was for. No hidden fees.
