The service provider was misleading in regards to services provided vs cost. Once my business was secured, services vs cost changed. Lack of communication. Service provider would rather text via phone instead of communicate verbally, leaving room for misunderstanding. I cancelled my service, but after speaking with the service provider, decided to try again, only for the company to cancel my service the next day or two without any prior communication with me, just a letter via email. I would never use their services again.
Description of Work: Basic lawn service (mowing, edging, trimming). $25.00 every 2 weeks.

We provide an initial service to this customer and trimmed 3 shrubs trees for 35.00 and she was pleased. She said she wanted us to service her Sisters home also and could we do it on the day we do hers and service both for $25.00, we agreed. On the second service we provided the same service by mowing the lawn the same height as the first time and we serviced the sister home also, the sister wasn't home but came as we were wrapping up service. The sister told our crew that her sister told her that we would do her hedges also for 25.00, at that she wanted it done every time we serviced her home. She was informed at that time that we wouldn't do it every time and that wasn't included in the service. And the she had a row of Hedges (about 8 shrubs) and at least 7 crepe myrtles, (NO ONE IN THE BUSINESS CAN DO THIS FOR 25.00)! The customer never called to cancel as she states until we sent her a message the day before we were scheduled to service her home and cancelled her service and her sisters by text. One of our crew members called her to see what was the problem and she stated that we her lawn didn't look cut on the last service 2 weeks ago. NOTE this was the first time hearing from her since the service 2 weeks before! She also stated that we didn't do her sisters hedges/shrubs like hers. It was told to her that it wasn't included and just because it was giving to her doesn't mean she could tell everyone she wants to refer that we would do there hedges/shrubs also. She asked did we tell her sister this and we told her yes. She said, "Sorry about my sister, Well my sister is something, we will talk about her later, I'm in the car with some people can I call you back at 2:30, and our crew member told her yes. It was also stated to her that we mowed her lawn the same height before and asked why didn't she contact us that day or the day after to tell us she wasn't happy, she replied, "I have been very busy and wanted to call but didn't get the time to call". We use text messages, email and phone as ways to communicate. We have found that most of our customers prefer text messaging because they work and can't always get to the phone to talk, so that's why we use it alone with emailing and we are able to keep record of what was told to each other. But if there is any problem we or the customer will call to clear up any issue or request. The problem with this customer was that on Wednesday October 17, 2012, she, her sister, alone with all customers scheduled for service on October 19, 2012 were sent a text message stating the following " GM we have you scheduled for service on Friday, please confirm. Also if you have anything that you want done please let us know by before Friday". We heard from customers who wanted extra things done that day! The member texted back that she wanted to change her day to Saturday but was informed that we don't work on Saturdays because we Honor Our Sabbath on Saturday. She replied okay and that she would stay with Friday. The member called our crew member on Friday about 10:30am and informed him that she had left 2 checks, one for service that Friday and for the next service in 2 weeks. She said she was having a party on Saturday November 3, 2012 and wanted the yard to look very nice and that she had watered the 3 shrubs and rose bushes. She asked was the trimming of her shrubs covered in the service for the price she was paying, and it was told to her yes! And that we would include trimming of shrubs/hedges since she only had 3 of them. Then she asked about the big Live Oak tree in the front and she was told it would cost extra to trim it. It was told to her that we had to look at it to give her a price, she said the branches were hitting her car when she pulled in her driveway. It was stated to her that we would stay there a little longer that Friday the day before the party to make sure everything was done, alone with the trees and shrubs. So we serviced her home that day and was going to send her a message on Monday (Since we don't work on Saturdays & Sunday by appointment only) to give a price on the trimming of the Live Oak Tree. On Sunday (October 21, 2012) we checked our messages and the member had left a message (AT 9:36pm Friday October 19, 2012) , " I see we still have a problem, my yard wasn't cut lower enough and my bushes weren't done, I want my bushes trimmed every time they have anything sticking out from the top or sides, I know you honor your sabbath tomorrow and that I understand it's over at 6pm and I expect you to give me a call after that time". So if my crew had stated to her on the phone what was being done for the prices she was paying, what he was going to do the friday before her party (which included the shrubs, Live Oak tree and lawn), then why would you call and leave a message like that! So we decided that no matter what was told to her, via phone or text she wasn't going to understand or understand what she wanted to, and we didn't want to continue to deal with it any longer and that's why we sent her a cancellation letter via email on Sunday October 21, 2012. We stated that we credited her invoice with check # 1070 and that a refund would be issued for check #1071 within 4 business days, but we were notified by Our bank on Wednesday October 24, 2012 that the member had placed a stop payment on check # 1070. This is why we have chosen not to do business with the member!
