I want a refund

Angie's list gave me a refund because the company would not honor their deal.The coupon stated inside or outside painting. I needed outside painting and the company said they would not do outside painting.

Never showed up, had to get a refund. DO NOT BUY

Because I had other contractors to work with, I could not wait a month. I ended up repairing and painting walls myself. It wasn't done it a day, but it was done 3 weeks before they could get to it and I'm very pleased with the work my family did on the house. Angie's List refunded the purchase price because even they could not reach anyone by phone or message.

Never Showed up!!!!!!!!

Awful, terrible, unprofessional in every way. I purchased one of the Deals for a day of painting from GM Painters. I was contacted a few days later and told their first available appointment was 3 weeks later. I figured they were busy from the Deal so that was fine. I was using GM to finish painting a few areas in my house that I prefered to leave to the professionals so I could put it on the market. I planned my move, all the painting I did on my own, and the day to list my house all around the date they said they'd be there to paint. They were supposed to arrive between 9 and 10am on the date scheduled and I received a message via Angie's List (not a phone call) at 10am the day of my appointment saying that they couldn't make it that day and would have to reschedule. Not only did their cancellation delay my listing plans but also cost me an entire day of vacation from work. I made this very clear to them but they made no effort whatsoever to get someone out to my house that day. Not only that but they also showed NO sense of urgency in rescheduling my appointment. I was contacted later saying the next available appointment was 9 days later... 9 days for someone they just canceled on and knew was waiting specifically for them to put their house on the market, ugh. After I told them that was too long they told me they'd see what they could do about fitting me in sooner but, of course, I didn't hear back from them until nearly a week later saying they could fit me in ANOTHER 10+ days after the original 9 days later. My wife and I ended up painting for several hours over a 2 evening period to finish because we couldn't wait for GM to decide the could fit us into their schedule. Needless to say, I requested and received a refund from Angie's List for the Deal but I honestly have no idea how a company so unprofessional and so unconcered with their customers needs is still in business, let alone on Angie's List.

Bought a deal to paint one room for $99. Purchased for 3 rooms. It was an effort just to obtain initial contact with vendor - couldn't leave a message on the phone number listed and email address returned messages as undeliverable. Had to call Angie's List support to get a return call from GM Painters. I should have backed out then. Once they contacted me on 4/20, they scheduled a date for 5/15. Tried to contact them several days prior to appt. to confirm, left several voicemail messages until their voicemail box was full which remained full for days. When I callled back a day before my appt. the message on their voicemail stated "at subscriber's request, this number does not accept incoming calls". Even tried to contact them through Angie's List messaging. All to not avail. GM Painters never showed up for appt, never contacted me, nothing. As other reviewers have suggested, I highly recommend avoiding this company.

I contacted this company and scheduled them to come out and paint 3 rooms in my house. I set a date two weeks after the initial phone call, then planned to take a vacation day from work. I wasted a vacation day because the company never showed up to do the job as we agreed. After our initial phone conversation, the date was confirmed. I sent a follow up text message as I was requested to do, and I received a text confirmation from the person I spoke with. Two days before the job was supposed to be done, I tried to contact the company to discuss a question I had about the job. I called about a dozen times and never got an answer. There voice message box was full, so I could not leave a message. I also tried texting, emailing and submitting the form through their website. They never contacted me, and they did not show up on the day they were supposed to do the work. This company needs to be avoided at all costs, because you will never hear from them again after the initial contact. There are many recent reviews for this company that say the same. Beware.

After the initial email contact, I have not heard from the service provider again.

Worked fast, did a great job.

It took quite a few email messages and phone calls to get the service scheduled. Then on the day of service, the painter calls and is on his way to my office instead of home. I think in the communications I was never asked the address, and since both my work and home address are connected to my Angie's List account, GM assumed my downtown work address. Minor speed bump. Painter arrives later that morning and I show him the dining room. (Let me note that the coupon did indicate there would be an additional charge for ceilings over 10 feet.) The ceilings are 11.5 feet, but it's a small room (12x12), one entire wall is an archway with nothing to paint, and the opposite wall has a window occupying most of the space. So I am informed that it will be an additional $125 to paint 1.5 feet extra height. I was expecting an extra charge of maybe $50 since the room is small and only 2.5 walls to paint, so I think the $125 was way too high. My bad for not verifying exactly how much it would cost for the additional ceiling height. The job went well, though. The painters were very nice, super polite and really fast. After their departure, I did unfortunately find several areas of small paint splatters on the wood floor. Nothing really major, but just enough to be annoying. All told, it was still a decent price and I'm glad to have the room finally painted.

GM Painters did not perform the service I paid for. I cannot get in touch with them. I suggest avoiding this company at all costs.

They answered the first day I purchased the deal and was told to call back to leave a message. I have tried to contact them several times and have not heard back from the at all since. I am unable to leave a message because the voice mail is full.

After purchasing the deal from Angie's List I scheduled a day and time for services. The company called to verify, and we discussed at length the services needed: I had built-ins that needed painting, and I wanted them to do the final spray coat so the finish would be as nice as possible. I would be doing the initial prep work of primer and the first coat of the oil based paint, so it would be ready for them to spray. I asked if I needed to provide any of the tape or covers, etc, and was told no, just the paint. The only two points the representative mentioned were 1) despite the offer saying painters for a day (8hrs), it would either be one painter for 8 hours, or two painters for 4 hours, and 2) they would not be responsible for any paint drips. I called them back about a week before the job, just to verify that second point. It seemed an odd comment for them to make, and I wanted to verify that I hadn't misunderstood, like maybe they were saying they weren't responsible for their drips or something. Spoke to the same guy, reviewed the job again and what I was doing to prep. Job was still a go. A few days before the scheduled date, I hadn't heard from them when they would be arriving, or if it would be a 4 or 8 hour job, and since I need to be off work during this period, that was rather important information. Didn't get the full information until the day off, when a lady called to verify the address, so had to rearrange my schedule to meet them, which caused isses with work. The painters were on time, but as soon as the lead guy saw the job, he balked. That's when I got to hear about how the ad misrepresented the work they would do. The deal was only for walls, and not for cabinets, and not for prepping, or taping, or anything I needed done. They didn't even bring the sprayer. He told me he would have to sand everything down, back to original, and that the taping of the empty room would take 4 hours by itself. There was more, but by that time I was both shocked and furious. I told them they could leave, because I wasn't having any of it. First, I was explicit about the job requirements when making the reservation, and the follow-up call. Second, the ad didn't have limitations on project scope. Third, how crooked to try and tell me it would take 4 hours to tape an empty room, and remove things, when I had already done all of that myself. Final thought: there were clear expectations based on up front job description, so NO reason for this to have happened. BAD Service regardless of their reasons/excuses. There were several opportunities for them to have declined the job if not in their scope, or if Angie's List ad was misleading. Getting this information the day of was inexcusable.

I am needing exterior but this deal only works on interior.

The price that they advertised is not the same price that they quoted.

I am so pleased with how the rooms in my home have turned out! The owner, was direct and highly punctual when estimates were being generated and during all meetings. It didn't matter what time of day or night you contacted him through e-mail; he was always quick to respond. His estimates were fair, and he went over all details thoroughly with you. He even went out of his way to make sure he could paint my home within my rushed needs. The team was courteous, efficient, talented, and tidy. They were a pleasure and were careful not to be in my way while at home. Everything is crisp and beautiful! When the job was finished, there were no erroneous splatters leftover and all trash was carried out. They took care of everything. If you want a great company to paint your walls, definitely consider these guys!

It went really well from the moment we called to make a appointment until the day they left my home everything went really smooth and I am so happy with the end result.

He gave an honest assessment of the work that needed to be done and offered a fair price. The paint looks great! He even went the extra mile and replaced our old electrical fixtures and removed some old paint that I had on the property (which I definitely didn't want to hassle with myself). Thanks! Will be in touch again for our next pairing job.
