Can't say enough about how well my experience went with Five Star. If you want to waste your time and quote around for your large remodel project you can, but you'll be disappointed with the results. If you have a major home renovation project to do in the Houston Area and you're reading this, stop searching and call Five Star to set up a consultation. I have an tall patio town home that I purchased with an unfinished 4th floor. I wanted to add a bathroom and bedroom so guests could enjoy the deck and have the facilities on the same level. This was no easy task. Dave Somers was extremely helpful and communicative from day one about the project. I travel quite a bit for work, so I was not able to be there for the majority of the project. We handled a lot of the start up over the phone and Dave was always responsive and available. His crew was extremely professional and always left the work areas clean and organized. The project turned out better than I ever could have expected. I would recommend Five Star to anyone who is looking to make a major improvement to their home. Be advised: Dave and his crew are very busy, and you may have to wait some time for the project to get started.

This is the third time we have used Five-Star. When we made the decision to remodel again, we knew who we wanted to do our work. As with the other two jobs, this job went very well. They are always on time, dependable, trustworthy, and pleasant. Each of the workers is professional and courteous. Total time to do all the work took six weeks, which in our estimation is quite fast. Dave Summers is very accommodating and helpful. He went with us to give guidance in selecting our granite, tiles, and deco on shower walls. He also assisted in paint selections. He managed all of the subcontractors, which are all licensed (electrical, plumbing, carpenters, framer, tile man). He always returns phone calls. We can recommend Five-Star without any hesitation.

We had another contractor begin remodeling the house and things were not going well. We decided to cut ties with the contractor and hire Five Star. Most of the kitchen had been completed minus a few small details. The master bedroom and bathroom was about 50% complete. We had a complete mess in the master and garage from scraps, tools, material, etc. Five Star did a great job cleaning up the mess and getting our house into what a normal work zone should look like. After cleaning up, they immediately got to work. Each day they were on time and worked all day. We were very happy to see how clean and organized they kept everything. David was ALWAYS available and/or on site if we had any questions or concerns. The final product looks great and we love the way our house looks. We have already booked them to come back and completely remodel the guest bath. A very honest company that we plan on using for a while!

It was fine. It was priced high. The estimate was high. He gave me a couple of good ideas on what to do with the space. It was worth the money. It took quite some time to get it scheduled and he was late for the appointment.

The crew arrived on time and always cleaned up, everyday, before leaving. They were very respectful and tried to make as little disruption as possible. They immediately responded to any concerns and were always helpful and willing to answer any question and explain anything we did not understand. The original time estimate was three weeks which they only went over one day due to our adding on the tiling of the floor in our dining/living rooms.

It was terrible and was supposed to be done before Christmas and still not done. Windows are not right. Now I have contractor vendors calling me telling me I owe them money.

I have an older home. They repaired some wood on the siding and painted the entire exterior and it looks like a new house. They stayed on top of that job. They called all the time to check in and the owner was there all the time making sure that the job was being completed in a timely manner. He is definitely not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. He is very particular. He was not happy until it was done perfect. I am very pleased.

Although I was well out of the geographical range of the provider, they agreed to meet with me to discuss the project. Once we met, the provider suggested finding another provider who services my area of town. We talked a while and he gave me some good ideas for my project and I thanked him for his time.

Everything went well. The price to do the actual work was more than what I was expecting. The consultant was professional and polite. It took longer than anticipated to get the estimate.

Dave's contractors do excellent work. The quality is outstanding. The project schedule was completed on time. It started out great. We had some issues on project management towards the end, there was 'scope creep' as in things that any normally sane person would assume would be included in a major remodel, were not and 5 Star hit us with several change orders. I did not agree with this, but to be fair I did push on them at the beginning to submit firm pricing. Not sure if the subcontractors revised pricing due to the busy Houston remodel Market at the time. Be very specific on the scope of work and keep after the management to ensure the commercial offering covers that. Despite this they were courteous and hard working and would recommend to friends and family.

I thought they were going to come and give me ideas of what I could do. They said they could not do anything because I did not know what I wanted. They were not really able to give me any suggestions or designs. It was kind of awkward working with them. I felt the service they were offering most people offer for free. They were very responsive about coming and the guy was nice. I would call them again to give me a quote when I know what I want to do.

I liked his work, the quality of his work. I picked out some tiles, and they went out and did everything.

When the gentleman came by, he just walked through the house, and just talked to me about the task. It felt like it was a free estimate, it didn't feel like anything more. He didn't give me any drawings or anything. He called me pretty much the same day that I purchased the big deal. He gave me ball park figures.The gentleman was nice, and pleasant. I wouldn't use him again for a 50 Dollar quote.

David gave me a prompt and very detailed quote for the kitchen and for the bathroom. He also had some great ideas that I had not thought of. The reason I didn't hire his services was that I'm on a fairly stringent budget, and while I am sure they do quality, custom work, the level was a bit above my needs at this time. Budget permitting, I would have definitely used Five Star.

I was called immediately and provided and estimate within 24 hours of my first contact. Although I didn't use the vendor their follow through and interaction was excellent.

We recently purchased this house. the living room walls are a raised panel design that had been spray painted yellow by the previous owner. David and his crew spent nearly 3 days in prep work and in painting this room. The result is a vast improvement in our eyes. No drips, no spills no runs what more can you ask for. While the price was higher than I would like to pay, the amount of work they put in plus the end result made a deal that we could not refuse. I would recommend them to others and will consider them if I ever need additional work performed.

The whole process went very well. As usual there were some unforeseen issues that came up, but the provider was very responsive and addressed all of the complications immediately. The best part about the provider is that they finished on-time and they thoroughly cleaned our house every night before leaving.

He didn’t want to get past the consultation. He came out and looked and said when you get closer give me a call. I was hoping to go through the design and talk real numbers about the job. He didn’t seem to want to invest time in going through the design.

Very good impression and service from the initial contact through to completion. Prompt response, and even before the quote Mr. Summers proved very knowledgeable and provided good advice and suggestions about how to handle repairs and keep costs down. Initially he stated that his team was booked solid for 3 months, but he worked to fit us in (and we were flexible too with several different stages to the projects) so we were able to set up a quicker schedule that was mutually convenient and were finished in about 7 weeks from date of initial contact. Team always called in advance and was very courteous and professional. The crew worked quietly and efficiently and very very neatly, making sure every bit of dust was vacuumed up every night before they left. Bathroom 1- ceiling drywall repair (damaged from leak), fan replacement, toilet replacement, paint Everything looks great and works well. Bathroom 2- fixed tub faucet Looks and works much better now. Kitchen- vinyl floor replacement, wall and cabinet painting, exterior door jamb repair Absolutely thrilled with how everything turned out. Paint- Bedroom, living room, master bedroom, etc. Replaced trim where needed and painted closets. So neat and beautifully done (replacing our embarrassingly amateur paint job!) There were 3 distinct work periods in October and November, and each time was communicated well and the work proceeded with little or no disruption to the household. There were some adjustments to the work plan which were followed up by revised written estimates. As long as we kept in communication and followed the written plan, everything proceeded smoothly. I know they were juggling many projects and customers at the same time, and I have to say that I was very happy with the responsiveness and flexibility and the overall excellent work. Electrical, plumbing, Paint, drywall, flooring, structural repair- all aspects of job were completed to very high standard. I would recommend Five Star without any hesitation whatsoever. This was by far the best experience I have had with a contractor.

David was very punctual and professional during the walkaround and through email communications. They seem like a good company. Ultimately I decided not to use their services as it was out of my price range.
