I had DS Total Remodeling remodel my kitchen, which was a good experience. I engaged Sammy's team to do several other (large) projects afterwards, which turned out to be a huge mistake. Sammy informed me that he would be working on a larger job while working on these other projects for me, including re-floating and re-texturing my walls, painting my walls, installing laminate tile, and installing baseboards, molding and interior doors, replacing outlets and light switches, etc. I could'nt have had a worse experience. I provided Sammy with the SKU and product information for the PRIMED baseboards that I wanted installed at the time time my laminate flooring was installed, which was included in my quote/price. Instead, Sammy ordered the un-primed baseboards. During initial discussions, Sammy assured me that the baseboards would be painted prior to installation, and that only minor touch-ups would be needed after installed. Instead, the un-primed baseboards were installed, and his contractors attempted to paint the baseboards completely after they were installed. This resulted in the worst paint job I have ever seen. The paint got all over my brand new flooring that was just installed, and there are dozens of drops of paint throughout my house, including on my brand new floor, a huge spill of paint on the running board on my stairs, and on my upstairs carpet. I've repeatedly brought the fact that the baseboards were not installed after having been painted which lead to the poor quality and mess. Sammy has not once acknowledged that the incorrect baseboards were purchased, or that the baseboards were installed inconsistently with how he described. Instead he has assured me that he will "fix" the problem. He had one of his guys attempt to fix by spending 5 minutes to calk over some of the paint that had spilled onto my new floors in April while the work was being performed. But after Sammy's team left, I have been unable to get them to come back despite Sammy repeatedly offering to do so. Sammy finished the work in April. It is now the end of July and nothing has been done. Sammy did say that he would come out in late June to fix the issues. And true to his word, Sammy showed up with 2 of his guys. Unfortunately when he arrived he said that it would take his team 4+ hours to fix, and that he needed to schedule it for July 4 (he did pick up his flooring samples that I have had for the past 2 months though, which was probably the real reason for the visit). On July 4 he said that he has an emergency and would need to reschedule. I have not heard back from Sammy since then, and don't expect that I ever will. This is far from the only issues. Prior to installing the flooring, I was told that this was a "very small" job that would last 2 days. Well, Sammy's crew came out and ripped out my tile on one day. A week later sent another crew out to rip out my hardwood floors. Then several days later got started on the flooring project. Not a huge deal. But it was about two weeks of not being able to use my downstairs because Sammy removed all of my flooring and put all my furniture in my kitchen, but got too busy to actually do the install. When the install actually took place, it took longer than expected, partially because he ran out of the flooring materials. I had Sammy install all new light switches and electrical outlets. The outlet in my laundry room kept shorting out every time I used the washing machine. Because of Sammy's unresponsiveness, I called an electrician who informed me that Sammy's guys had not removed the yoke of the receptacle. It was an easy mistake to make, and an even easier fix. But one that I had to pay an electrician $125 to fix in Sammy's absence. About 18 months later, the p trap in my kitchen sink is leaking and has damaged the cabinets. The plumber that came out informed me that the p trap had been installed incorrectly, but probably on purpose as a shortcut to not have the move the drain pipe lower. Because pipe needs to be lowered in my wall and behind by cabinets, the cost to fix yet another one of Sammy's mistakes is $1,500. My bathroom door that Sammy installed has never closed without having to slam it shut against the molding. Just an awful experience by a guy that has no idea what he is doing.
