Description of Work: |Repaired a central heat gas furnace. When turned on, the furnace fan would start, but the gas would not ignite and the furnace would shut down after two minutes. I had previously called a different repair service, but the that Technician was unable to correct the problem after trying on two separate visits. I then called ABACUS to check the system. | |The ABACUS Technician determined the problem in a short time and promptly corrected it by repositioning the ignitor

Description of Work: We had a problem with a running toilet. They scheduled promptly and kept their appointment time. We ended up replacing the toilet. All work was finished that day even though he did not finish until late in the evening. Very professional. We would use then again.

Description of Work: I called Abacus to get an inspection on my AC. The serviceman who came out hooked some hoses to my outside unit. He then attempted to explain things to me and I quickly realized that he didn't know what he was talking about. The phrase that stuck with me is "23 four thirds". What does this even mean? | |After taking pictures of my unit in the attic and showing me pictures of a unit (still not sure it was mine), he explained that my system must have frozen up at some point. I don't see how that is possible and still have the system run at a later time. | |What he didn't do that I fully expected was examining filters or measuring the temperature of the air coming from the vents. | |This quickly turned into a sales call where he told me that he could either repair my unit for $6000 or for only $16000 I could have a unit that could be monitored from my smartphone. I don't even own a smartphone. This was a small detail that he overlooked. | |The kicker was when his associate came in as well. While the primary serviceman was figuring out my quote (which he never actually gave me), the second guy was showing me pictures on his smartphone of a house they serviced. Apparently, the owner of the house is an avid hunter and he showed me pictures of the 100's (no exaggeration) of stuffed animal heads in this person's house including exotic big game. I'm all for hunting, but this was a bit much for me. In addition, this was a HUGE invasion of privacy for this person. | |I could not get them out of there fast enough. I was glad to pay the $49 so I could see them leave. | |I do not trust Abacus with their ability to do any work, access to my house, or privacy.

Description of Work: Abacus Plumbing did work quickly and efficiently. The workers were courteous and explained the process thoroughly. I would recommend this company to friends and family.

Description of Work: Kitchen faucet was dripping. Plumber said he'd go look for a replacement hose, said he could not find one, so one had to be ordered. That took a week for the replacement hose to show up. Plumber was 4 hrs late on appt. time. After initial visit when plumber put the defective hose back on it leaked worse than before. For $300 I feel they should have just installed a new faucet the 1st time they came out. I'd think twice before using them again. |

Description of Work: Completed work timely, professionally, and properly. Check all gas lines prior to leaving. Cost was a little higher than others but they go the extra mile.

Description of Work: Re-piped entire house. Replaced old 1964 galvanized pipes with PEX. The plumbing replacement went extremely well. The dry wall repair was not as smooth. Abacus does not do the drywall repair. They have a list of companies they refer to but take no responsibilities for. I used their strongest referral & ended up wishing I'd gotten multiple evaluations. Not because of the cost but the quality of the work. I had to call the drywall people back repeatedly to get things done right. But no problems with the actual plumbing.
