We used this company for the entire 15 years that I have lived in this location and each billing cycle the charges increased due to fuel adjustments. I know there is inflation and fuel adjustment; however, I would also expect that if the price of fuel drops my cost would drop but this does not happen. When I cancelled service effective August 13, I was told that I would be charged through the end of August. That is not acceptable. I will not pay for services that I will not receive. To top all of this off after 15 years of using your service they say I will be billed $70 dollars to pick up their two containers. I do not care if they are picked up are not. This is totally unacceptable. To the best of my memory, I was charged a delivery fee to get them. I will not pay to have them picked up. Republic also would not cancel based on my phone call. I had to send a written request. When I ordered services, you did not ask for written confirmation. I will update as soon as I know what I am billed. I switched to another company that is charging $90 less per quarter than Republic. They are also less strict and will pick up trash that is not in a container (bags, lawn trimmings, limbs, etc.) The overall rating of "C" is mostly due to the price. Also, we never knew if trash would be picked up early or later in the day. The service rep was pleasant and professional.

Recently cancelled service due to cost. Was informed at that time, and not before, that we could have saved money by only having 1 can. By the way the two cans had been left at my home totally unsolicited. I called the company at that time and said I didn't need them and had not asked for them. I was not told that there would ever be any fee associated with the cans, ie., the 35.00 fee plus 13.75 in taxes and additional fees that I was charged to have them picked up. Also be aware that the pick up crews sometimes leave the cans in the street or throw them in the ditch. The nail in the coffin, for discontinuing, was the driver of one of their trucks chewed out a contractor, that just happened to be at my home one morning, because he felt the cans weren't left close enough to the street even though they were in the same place we have left them for years with no complaint.

Marginal garbage collection service and non-existant customer service with respect to billing issues.
Description of Work: Due to repeated poor service (trash not emptied if cans blew over in the wind, trash not picked up if in the "wrong" can, etc), I cancelled our service in February, 2009, and requested a final bill. I have not yet received a final bill, despite calling them repeatedly and even writing a letter, but instead keep getting "delinquent" bills for continuing service, plus penalties accruing for non-payment of an account I cancelled 3 months ago! The local folks say the problem is with "corporate." Corporate says the local employees haven't provided the close-out documents, etc. A lot of finger-pointing between departments but no help. The final straw is that now they have reported this account to a collection agency. Again, I have REPEATEDLY contacted this company to resolve this, with no success. All I want is a final bill!
