Moved into a brand new house. Had a break in the sprinkler line caused by poor installation. The builder wouldn't take responsibility and initially the sprinkler installation company wouldn't either. As I was fighting to try to get the repair covered under warranty I started shopping for an outside company to make the repair. I was very impressed by the Double Eagle Sprinkler reviews and that Mr Robert Coleman the owner took the time to comment on each of the reviews. In one of his comments he gave his cell phone number, so I called him (on a Saturday) to discuss my predicament. He was super patient with me & took tons of time to talk to me. He suggested that I schedule an appointment for the following Monday and if I was able to get the issue covered under warranty I would just cancel the appointment with Double Eagle. At the very last moment (while already into the 4 hour appointment window), the sprinkler installation company chose to cover under warranty so I canceled my appointment with Double Eagle who were very gracious about it. I will definitely be calling Double Eagle when I need service in the future!

Clinton arrived within the 2 hour window and went right to work diagnosing my sprinkler system. He made several adjustments to get the proper coverage for the corner lot and checked the programming to be sure it was appropriate. Later on I noticed one of the sprinkler heads weren't working correctly so I called Clinton. He was there first thing the next morning to get the errant sprinkler head to behave. Everything is working beautifully. Clinton even gave me some information about changing the sprinkler heads over to the new water conservation models for in the future.

The job went great. I called other companies listed on Angie's List, one company refused to come out to give me a quote for repairing a zone, they lost a lot of business! Others did not return my phone call. I usually repair my own sprinkler system heads, but this job was just too big for me. Double Eagle took time to explain what the yard needed and why. I might have spent more money with Double Eagle, but they stand behind their work and are very good guys. They've already been back to "tweak" the system twice under warranty! It's been six months and the new system works great! Thanks Double Eagle!

My sprinkler had low water pressure. I took advantage of a new customer promo they were running on Angie. The low pressure was the result of a broken head that had been leaking. Double eagle can out the day after I called. Located the issue in 5 minutes and repaired it quickly. The tech also re-programmed my system, which saved money on my water bill.

They arrived on time for the estimate. The job was started on time and completed on time. Everyone was courteous and professional. Upon completing the job, they went over the operation of the new system with us, explained the warranty, and their service program. I appreciated the time they took to go over everything with us, they were the only company that made me feel like I knew what I was paying for.
Description of Work: I called Double Eagle for an estimate to replace my existing sprinkler system. They were one of three estimates. The other two companies did the estimate without any input from me or my husband. During the Double Eagle estimate, they walked the property with me, and talked with me about my concerns and problems we had with the old system. They went over the plan for the new system with me. They also told me that if I have any dry spots, they will come back and change the system to cover those spots. They also allowed for a planned expansion of the driveway.

Andrew, the technician, met me at the house and diagnosed the problem in about 5 minutes. After telling me all that was involved in replacing a zone control valve, he began working immediately and finished in about 30 minutes. After fixing the problem, I asked him to help explain to me all my water shut off valves to the house which he was happy to do. He did an outstanding job and took extra time in explaining general plumbing knowledge to me. I have used this company several times before with different technicians and they always do a good job.
Description of Work: I had two sprinkler heads that appeared to be leaking even though the system was turned off. Turned out to be a leaky control valve that needed to be replaced.

A young man came initially to size up the problem then proceeded to locate the junctions through the use of a sensor which appeared to be too weak to detect the locations . He said it was because the battery appeared to be weak.. He said he would contact another person to take over. A day passed before another person came. His diagnosis was a loose solenoid which he tightened. I thought everthing was fine until I noticed that the back yard sprinklers were notr working at all. I've sinced used another irrigation specialist who solved my problem.
Description of Work: My sprinkler system was working sporadically, and it came on partially on a part of the week not set at the controller.

This was a very troublesome encounter in that they did not show up at the appointed time. They were supposed to be there at 7:30 for which I accelerated my normal morning routine. Nobody showed and initially I couldn't raise their office either. It was over an hour after the appointment - around 8:40 when I did get in touch with their office. The owner - Mr. Coleman - was simultaneously apologetic and belligerent about it. I came very close to cancelling things but they promised to get another person to my home within 15 minute so I decided to be done with it as I really wanted this job done. It took about 30 minutes but I gather they had some juggling. Personally I think this is a story of a company with a good history that let a bad apple in the mix and the owner isn't facing up to it. The owner did not handle the incident appropriately - berating me when I brought up the recent review history while apologizing for the time lost. Other than expediting a sub tech there was no remediation offered - frankly I think this is one situation where a discount should have been offered or alike. I will say this though - the person that did arrive was professional and seemed quite skilled. So I balance the tardiness against the work and will say 'C'. Ultimately though given the delay and the owners mixed response I have to give this mixed review. During the owner berating he claimed that people using Angie's list were somehow self indulgent kings and would only give all A's or all F's. Well here's the answer to that. I allowed them a second chance and this review is not all Fs - only F's where F's are due. I can only hope that Mr. Coleman will take a look in the mirror and make an effort to turn things around. Sadly though at this point I cannot recommend them nor would I risk doing business with them again.
Description of Work: Replaced a number of sprinkler head and/or nozzles. I had several broken heads that had rendered my sprinkler system useless. The tech that showed - Andrew - did an efficient and transparent survey of the system and was quite reasonable about the assessment - identifying components that required replacement and those that were more "iffy" that I could make judgement calls. Although I had the sense of it being a bit overpriced things seemed to be done with skill/precision and in short order once he arrived.

We have used this company before, so were past clients. Satisfied with that experience, so called again this year. (We have also frequently received post cards soliciting our repeat business.) They didn't answer the phone, just voice mail, so I left a message with our 2 phone numbers and asked for a return call. No one called back, so after a week, thinking perhaps they had not gotten my message I called them again, at which time the response was that they had received my message, "We didn't get back to you?" No you didn't. Thinking this was probably just an oversite, I scheduled an appointment for August 4 -between 1pm and 3pm. At 3pm I received a call from the tech saying he would be running later that afternoon. I said no problem. He did not show and did not call again. ONE WASTED SATURDAY. Thinking if I were the owner, I would probably want to know about the missed appointment, so I called on Tuesday and spoke to him. He apologized, and said they would be out the next Saturday between 1p and 3p. I said that would be fine, if they will actually come. He said yes, he would send what sounded like one of his reliable techs out, and would knock $20 off the bill Next Saturday appointment -1pm 2pm 3pm no show. Thinking, surely, they must just be running late, I waited. AGAIN they were a no show and no calls to follow up or apologize. TWO WASTED SATURDAYS waiting on DoubleTree. We were more than patient with this company. Definately moving on to another company that is more reliable, and more considerate.

Sadly, the truck problem occurred in a "no cell" zone, so he was unable to communicate with the office that he would not be in that day. On Saturdays, we normally man the phones until noon. I had a head cold, and left in the morning, after I made sure that all of the technicians had taken their work assignments. I know it is little consolation to you that we missed you two times in the space of a week. I have told my men to go home in the afternoons if they feel any symptoms of heat sickness. Our oversight was not contacting you and letting you know that they would not be there. As luck would have it, they went home on the day you were first assigned after hours, without calling you or the office. I feel dreadful that this has occurred to you, a loyal customer. Called the office and spoke with Sandy Coleman. Informed her that I was looking for something this week to replace two sprinkler heads. Sandy obliged and said there was an opening this week. Being very excited, I checked my calendar and told her that unfortunately I had Jury Duty but I could check to see if I can find someone to be there to meet with her company. I asked if I may put her on hold for a moment to confirm and she said "yes". I then called my wife and confirmed within 30 seconds and went back to Sandy Coleman. Sandy Coleman put me on hold while I was confirming with my wife which I thought was kind of odd but then I was on hold for over 2 minutes. I was then disconnected. I called back and again Sandy Coleman answered. I told her I would take the opening for Thursday and she informed me it was no longer available. I then proceeded to tell her that this was unacceptable since I put her on hold for less than 30 seconds to confirm so I could have someone there for the opening and that being put on hold by her was not acceptable. "She said there were other phone calls to attend to and the appointment is now not available." -Isn't the customer you answer the phone for always the most important?- I then asked for the owner and she said "She was the owner". She informed me she was the owners wife!!! I again asked her if the opening could still be used by myself since I had been hung up on and put on hold. She said NO with no other explanation.I was hoping to use this company because of the close proximity to my house and because I like to keep my money at my local business operations. Not this time, I will go out of my way not to work with Double Eagle Sprinkler or Sandy Coleman EVER!

Setting up the appointment was pretty easy and Robert was a pleasure to talk to.Andrew , the foreman who checked our sprinkler system was courteous and professional . He was running a little late and called to let me know ahead. He listened to my concerns and tested the system and all zones,explained to me what needed to be done. A few sprinkler heads were kinda jammed in the soil , wouldnt pop up when turned on , a few were broken and there were some patches that wouldnt get watered. He fixed and replaced 5 sprinkler heads.I am giving a B for price because 197.50 ( including the 37.50 angies new customer coupon) seems a ittle expensive. Also , when I scheduled the appointment , I was not told of the $15.00 fuel surcharge. Having said that ,the work did take about 1.5 hrs and as hot as it was outside , I appreciate all the hardwork Andrew put in.

If you check around, you'll find our prices are very competitive. Most competing companies demand a minimum 1 hour charge, ranging from $90-$150, just to come to your home, no matter how minor the need. We feel it is more important to have a lower commitment price from our customers, especially jobs that take less than 30 minutes to complete. We had to insert the fuel surcharge in May due to the rapid inflation of fuel costs. Rather than raise our hourly rate, we felt it was important to recapture the cost with a one-time charge, rather than an ongoing higher rate, penalizing customers that had a lot of work to be finalized. The site that I looked at had the owner's name and when I called I actually got the owner and he was super-sweet. He reminded me a lot of my uncle, who ran a boot business. We had a broken sprinkler head. I was about to leave town on a trip, but he was offering to come out today and they came out quicker. It was very affordable. They gave us some Angie's List credit coupons. I was very pleased. The fixed everything. The price was good. They were very accommodating.

This is the second time they have checked my system at the start of spring watering. They are quick and reasonable. They replaced one nozzle and did not charge me.

The services come with a 3 year warranty. I will definitely call this company if a problem with the system arises, if I have questions, and if maintenance is required.
Description of Work: Company responded quickly and immediately scheduled a date to return and complete work. A new zone was added for the parameter of the house. The team arrived on time and worked quickly to complete the job. In addition, the work was reinvoiced to reflect correction in total due. The owner, Robert, was very focused on driving home quality customer service.
