The work was done on behalf of my sister (Keri B.) post-Hurricane Harvey flooding, but as I was the one to research the company through Angie's List, I feel compelled to leave a review especially as I was also present for a most of the negative installation experiences. We went with this company because they are locally-owned and could accomplish several projects needed on the house. The sales person (Lori S.) seemed to have a good grasp on what was needed. However, little did we know that given the problems that came later it would take 8 months to resolve the various problems. First, she said the carpet had been ordered (and we have her text messages). But, after saying it should be arriving soon, we eventually learned through management that it had never been ordered. The luxury vinyl planks for the rest of the house were installed, but they installed in places that were unneeded due to kitchen cabinets. So after installation, they had to be cut out which is just wasteful and using up our excess. Next, after they started to install the kitchen cabinets additional problems arose. The wrong sizes were ordered so we were unable to have the upper cabinets installed originally and had to wait months for the new ones to arrive. Additionally, we had provided all the information on our farmhouse sink with apron front to the company. Despite that, they ordered the wrong cabinet and our sink would not work. Fortunately, they agreed to provide a sink at their cost - though it was not the precise look with farmhouse apron we had originally wanted. But, at that point, we just wanted to have a functioning partial kitchen with sink. Additionally, since the measurements were off for the upper cabinets, the company had to hire a subcontractor remove the fur downs to make *some* of the upper cabinets work while still having to order others that would not work. Finally, the installation of the kitchen items was also problematic. The cabinets and countertops involved different subcontractors. After installation, they had to come back out to level things because there were gaps and uneven doors. Ultimately, it took 8 months to get all the work done correctly. Meanwhile, the line of credit had been charged for the items back when they were first ordered so my sister has been paying on them for months before they were even installed (and then corrected). We cannot in good conscience recommend this company. Perhaps they are simply overwhelmed due to post-Hurricane Harvey volume of customers. But, regardless, the work too a number of corrections, communication is spotty, they provide excuse after excuse, and it took way too long to get the work done. While they finally got it all done, the time and hassle were beyond what one could consider reasonable.

They were cheaper than any of the firms we looked at. They were very professional and they were very timely. They treated me wonderfully. I have mountains of books in my closet and they graciously moved them without any extra charge. There was a little bit of a repair that needed to be done in the stairwell and they did that with no extra charge.

We hired Flooring Source to install a floor made by Karndean. The day we went to the flooring store to look at the product we asked; How long has this company been in business? Has your company ever installed this particular floor? Has the installers been trained to put down this floor? Before we purchased we looked at the rating on Angie's List, etc. We felt we had done our homework. On August 18, 2014. The installers (subcontractors) came to install. They pulled up all the carpet. I took pictures of the entire process. The carpet was 20 years old and still in excellent condition but with allergies and three dogs it was time for the carpet to go. The subcontractors prepared the floors and the installation began. One of the guys said this two part Epoxy is not working. He called the project manager (Adam) at Flooring Source and told him the new epoxy was not working. He told them to continue with the installation and see what happened. If the floor did not stick then they would have to re-do. Really? I asked the installers if they had used that adhesive before? No, they had not. They had been shown how to use the two part epoxy 30 minutes before they arrived. Again, Really? I am the test case? The next day we complained the flooring was coming up. Adam the project manager came to the house and told my mom we will just leave it a few day so that it can dry. He said it needed 16 hours to dry. She said it has been 18 hours. Adam proceeded to leave. Really? If the floor had not stuck in 18 hours it was not going to stick. It was obvious the floor was not going to stick. I called Adam to discuss; 2 hours went by and he never returned my call. I drove to the store and pitched a fit. Knowing we have an issue he did not return my call. He stated he called the number he had. I said, it was my cell phone and you never called. The phone has been in my hand waiting for you. The salesman who had taken my number to give to Adam just buried his face. I knew at that point my number had been provided to Adam and he just ignored my request. I spoke to the owner Richard and he said they were exploring what could be the issue. He stated he had a lot of phone calls and was trying to get to it. Really? Unless he had a lot of issues like mine I would have made it my prority to investigate what went wrong. Later that day Richard called and said they would order new material and come back out and replace the floor. The subcontractors came back pulled up the flooring and the adhesive. The owner of Flooring Source came over with a moisture meter and said the concrete had moisture. Of course it did. There was epoxy on the floor. They should have done the moisture test when they pulled up the carpet. Now they had to wait for the concrete to dry to put down the new flooring. I spent 5 hours wiping the floor and putting the fan on the areas that I wiped. The floors dried immediately. There was not moisture in the concrete; it was the residue from the epoxy that made the concrete look and feel wet. What was supposed to be a one day job turned into 8 days. The owner did get the floors installed and they look great but they should not have used a product that had not been used before. Certaintly the subcontractors should have been given more than a 30 minute training on the expoxy. Also, we only knew what was happening from the subcontractor. The owner never followed up with us after he came by with his moisture meter which was very silly. If he had I would have told him about the 5 hours I spent cleaning up the residue. I paid for the flooring; they only left a partial box of flooring for future use. Overall, the flooring does look good. My complaint is Adam the project manager. He lied to me and he should have listened to the subcontractor that there was an issue. Richard the owner did make the flooring issue right but he never corresponded with us after he did the moisture meter test. If he had I would have told him how I got on my hands and knees and cleaned up the residue. To explain my rating: Overall = C - The flooring is beautiful! The flooring installation experience was not good at all! Price = B - Good It was comparable to the other place we were going to use. Quality = C - Fair - The quality of the product is an A but the quality of the original epoxy used is a C. Responsiveness - D - Bad - This rating is geared toward Adam the project manager. The subcontractors rate an A. They were all about quality control. Punctuality = B Good - The subcontractors showed up on time each day they said they were coming. Professionalism = F for Adam. Never lie to a customer or just wait an see what happens when a customer has provided you with an issue. I would rate the subcontractors with A. They really wanted to do quality work. I would rate Richard the owner as a C only because he did not keep in contact with us.

The person making the installation appointment said the installers would be at our home at 10:00 a.m. They arrived at 7:30 a.m. Not a problem. They removed old carpet, moved furniture and installed the wood flooring. Two day job. They had to come back on the 3rd day to finish the flooring - they were short 6 boards. The person that measured made a mistake in how much flooring would be required. We appreciated the contract we signed with Flooring Source. Nothing was hidden. Everything was spelled out including removal and hauling off the old carpet and moving furniture. No hidden charges. The installers did a beautiful job on the flooring. They cleaned up their work area and removed all tools and trash when they completed the job. We would definitely use them again and would highly recommend them for flooring.

We have a dog, two boys, and a neighborhood full of kids. We are h****** our floors and were tired of 14-year-old carpet that really never came clean. Since we love the look of wood but knew that it would be too much upkeep for our lifestyle, we decided to tile almost 1100 square feet of our house with wood lookalike tile. We bid the job at three locations. Flooring Source was not the lowest, but their price was definitely competitive, and since we used them a few years ago to tile the bathrooms and the kitchen and were really pleased with their work, they got the job again. The employees at Flooring Source were a pleasure to work with. Adam was so patient and professional in the process of choosing the material. Juan, Alex, and Omar were in our house for six days for the install. They moved quickly but not too quickly and did the job right. When the original grout color was too light, they cut it out and started again with a darker color that turned out to be perfect. I trusted them completely and felt free to leave the house while they worked. We were able to live in our house during the entire process. We love our new floors! They really do look like wood but with all the benefits of tile -- but only because they were installed well. I can't recommend Flooring Source highly enough.

The Flooring Source in Friendswood installed new carpet in two of our bedrooms on Saturday (3/8/2014) and it was a great experience for us. It was a small job that only required a little over 400 sq ft of carpet but we were treated as thought we were purchasing flooring for an entire house. We had shopped around a good bit and their prices were the best; but their customer service is what really set them apart. Our sales person, Desiree, and the store manager, Adam, both spent a great deal of time with us making sure we had the best carpet for our budget. They were very patient and customer focused as we went through several different options, styles and price points over a couple of months’ time period. We also met Richard, the owner, who spent a good deal of time assisting us with the decision process. For the installation they sent three very professional installers that did an excellent job, moving our furniture, removing the old carpet and installing the new carpet. We are very picky and cost conscious customers and their entire staff from the owner to the installers far exceeded our expectation. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for flooring and will definitely be using them again in the future.

FAntastic ! I had to remove water from a water bed but they took care of moving it and all the other heavy furniture I had used this company to install tile in the entrance, hallway, 1/2 bath and kitchen last year. All went so well with that that I decided to use them again. .If you are looking for carpeting, look around in the store I think they have their favorites but other name manufacturers had the same price at the same quality than the one suggested. Get larger sample to bring home to double check your selection.

We chose the Flooring Source partially due to location (we live in Friendswood) and partially based on reviews and their BBB affiliation. (Most of the carpet places we looked at had poor reviews.) The salesman, Adam, was very helpful and patient while I sorted through color, style, and material choices. He even directed me to a sale the store started right after my initial choice was made the saved me several hundred dollars. The installation crew was prompt and friendly and finished the job more quickly than expected. The head installer put in the stair carpet in a waterfall style and did an exceptional job. We only experienced one negative. I’d chosen, and paid for ($500), a heavier weight pad. The padding laid down in the first room looked funny, so I called. It turned out they’d sent the standard pad to the job. They quickly corrected the mistake. I would definitely use them again.

This is a small room (maybe 30 square feet) and I was concerned about the look of the 20 x 20's. Adam assured me it would look fine and it sure did. To save me time off work they arranged to start work on a Saturday. Their installer was meticulous - made no mess, left no mess. After he layed the tile, he told me he could complete the job (grout it) the same day if I needed him to, but he said that it would be better to let the mortar under the tile set up 12 hrs. So on his recommendation we waited until Monday to grout it. (I'm glad I did.) Flooring Source is an excellent, high-quality company. Of course that means they will never be your cheapest bidder. (If you get three bids, their price will probably land in the upper middle.) But I am very particular - I want it exactly right and I'm willling to pay accordingly. I've definitely gotten my money's worth both times I've used them. As a result, I've just hired them to do a 3rd job for me.
Description of Work: This is the second time I've used them and both times I used salesman Adam Falcon. This was just a small job - putting a high end tile in the powder room off our foyer. They removed the toilet and sink, then they took up the carpet. Then they layed 20" x 20" tile in a diagonal pattern.

It was not cheap but they did a fantastic job. We picked out the product they replaced with their recommendation. I had a choice of various wood panels, they were very good with that. The workmen that installed it were really great. They did a great job. They really took pride in the job they did and I was very impressed with them.
Description of Work: We had a carpet for 35 years, and we had it replaced with laminate flooring. Since we had a carpet down before, they had to make sure the floor was flat. They had to put in a material in between the concrete and where they installed the wood.

Re ; Sales Brian did a great job of talking to me in the shop and then working with me to make a decision on color and pattern layout. He made several valuable suggestions for example bull nose tile on steps from the tiled area to a wood laminate area that made the job look even better. Price for the tile and for the installation was more than reasonable and lower than another shop quoted but without the extras. Re: Installation; Fantastic ! It took about a 1/2 day longer (5 1/2 full days) than I hoped for but with the issues they ran into, it was not surprising. They were professional installers, who showed up when they said they would, did the job and cleaned up (mostly) before they left. They did not leave any used job materials; they took everything with them except for the extra tile that I had arranged for.

They are a high-end contractor with a reputation for good work. Their cost estimate was about 20% higher than competitors, but we negotiated it down to about 15% higher. As the next highest competitor had numerous BBB complaints, I was satisfied that the reputed quality of their work was worth the extra money. They didn't let me down. They did everything they could to schedule and complete the job at my convenience, even starting on a Saturday to help make it easier for me. They did a good job laying the tile - it's very level and very clean where it meets the walls (no sloppy work here). We had one problem and they worked with me to get it resolved to my complete satisfaction. (I'm very particular so this is very much to their favor.) I will definitely use them again. I feel like the workmanship and service I got were worth the extra money they cost.
Description of Work: Took up old flooring. Laid a significant amount of new tile. (I won't quote the number of square feet here to protect their proprietary cost/square foot data.)

Overall, the experience went well. We received two quotes in the Friendswood area from companies recommended on Angie's list: one of which was Flooring Source. Flooring Source offered good customer service and a good price on the tile. We worked with Kenna. She helped us make our tile and design selections. We originally brought in a different sample for our floor tile. She saw that is was very close to another tile they install in custom homes being built in the area, which was offered at a better price (2.65 per square foot vs. 3.95 per square foot of the sample we brought.) Kenna took us to a nearby home under construction to see how the floor looked once installed. It sold us on the selection and we went with it. The crew that installed our tile did a good job. The length of the job overall took 7 days. They worked on Saturdays but not on Sundays, which was fine with me. The crew ran into a delay while tearing our the existing wood floor in the dining room and hallway as it was glued down very, very well. There was no additional charge for the labor involved in removing the wood floor. At the end of the job, the floors looked great as did the bathrooms and fireplace. It really transformed the home.
Description of Work: We purchased a home in Friendswood and prior to moving in, had the tile and wood floors throughout the home (excluding bedrooms) removed and replaced with 20" porcelain tile. We also had the tub surrounds in the master bath and hall bath replaced as well as our fireplace face replaced with a tumbled travertine tile.

I am happy with the work that Richard did. He removed the damaged part of the floor and had a piece of parka cut for it because they don t sell it in the size that I needed. I think they were kind of expensive, but they did a good job and the floor looks just like it did before it got ruined.
