Description of Work: Thomas Handy Man was great and I would use them again in a minute! They were on time, and took care of the requests I asked for and handled everything professionaly. Everything was handled so perfectly. My request was to have alot of large mortar blocks removed from my back yard. Someone earlier had made a mess of the back yard by using inappropriate materials to create an area for plants. It never worked out and I was left with a large number of mortar blocks in the back yard. Thomas Handy Man moved all of the large slabs and took them away. Everything was cleaned out. They also cleaned out a stopped up gutter !!..... something I would not have noticed! Thomas even went down to get another florescent lamp for my closet and installed it! I could not ask for anything else !!!! I would trust him completely! I had lost the man who used to help me so I am so very glad to know about Thomas Handy Man Services!!! As a matter of fact, "Thomas Handy Man" has been a much better Handy Man then the man who used to work on my house !! Thank you for providing such a competent HandyMan!! Linda Catherall

Description of Work: Don fixed cracks in sheet rock, mudded and painted 3 rooms and a bathroom. He does excellent work and can do allmost anything around the house, inside and out. He sometimes has a little trouble showing up when he says he will. Overall I would rate him as a 10 for quality of work and reasonable pricing.

Description of Work: Mr. Thomas and his assistant arrived on time to fixed my shutter that had fallen down and seal my back door. They were very nice to work with and I will be calling him again to do more work soon.

Description of Work: I have given Thomas ample time to reimburse me for the money I paid him ahead of time to come back and do the electrical and small other jobs. By the way, the small door he built over my pantry area is horrible. It has already wharped. So, I am changing his rating from D to F as he should have given me back the money I overpaid him as he promised to come back and complete the work. He never did. Don't pay this person ahead of time as he does not have a pot to pee in and he will never return. He is a CROOK. Also Angies list LIES. They say their service people do NOT pay to be on Angie's list and as a matter of fact, Thomas once told me they in fact DO and I have had now three other providers tell me they also pay? So, Angies list, want to explain to the subscribers why you state this on your website, when in fact they pay more to move their bad ratings down to the bottom and only good ratings up to the top. Let's see how Angies list wiggles out of that LIE. Do NOT pay this person AHEAD of time. Do not let him tell you he will be back "tomorrow" to finish that work. I should not have to continue calling him. He should be more of a business person and call ME! He took a part to my ceiling fan I have already paid him to install. He never came back and installed the metal boxes that he has already been paid for in the attic. I called him about 3 weeks ago and asked if his car was now running. Approximately 2 weeks had gone by and he had not called, nor bothered to explain how much longer his car would be out of service again. When I called him to ask about the part to my ceiling fan, he said he took it to match a part. His excuse was "he thought I was going to call him". NO, he should have called ME to follow up with me, to tell me he was still waiting on some guy to find him a motor, or whatever the problem was. He owes me for the installation of the fan and the electrical boxes he never installed in the attic? Has he called me to reschedule - NO! If I ran my business like he runs his, my clients would be extremely upset. It is not up to me to call him - he was the one who just flat quit because of his car. He should be writing a check to me 3 weeks ago for the labor he never returned to do, nor did he call and ask to reschedule. He also came to my other house and did some work - I will have to get someone back out and install the ceiling fans properly as my son came home and exclaimed "what idiot installed the fans"!!!! The fan in my son's bedroom will turn on higher or stop completely when the light is turned on. My fan in my bedroom as well as my son's makes a humming noise. I expect a check in the mail within the next week. Do NOT pay this person before ALL work is complete and completed to your satisfaction!!!!!!!! Don called me when he saw the "bad" review on Angies List. I told him that he needed to pay me back for the work that I had already paid him for (as he was coming out the next day) which he never returned, still I've not received a payment as he would agree to. I told him he needed to reimburse me for the ceiling fans I paid him for, bring back my part for my old ceiling fan and the electrical work I had pre-paid him for. I told him if he did that - we would be ALL GOOD and I would update and remove the review. This was almost 2 weeks ago to date. I've not received reimbursement as of 05/12/2012. AND, I notice that other reviews have been sent that Don did work AFTER he told me he would be back to finish mine. During the last telephone conversation, Don told me that his vehicle was STILL not running, so please do tell me HOW he managed to do 2-3 more jobs during this period between the time he told me latter February through NOW and is still telling me his vehicle is still not running? Don, I am not stupid!!!! Only stupid that I paid you and trusted that you would come back and finish. Please tell me how you managed to do 2-3 jobs in-between my hiring you? Also, if your vehicle is still not running, I am assuming you cannot go to the post office and mail me my check? If that is the case, I would be most happy to mail you an envelope with a stamp already attached. I am assuming you have a mailbox where you reside?

Description of Work: Don fixed our attic ladder,replaced 3 window panes in a bedroom on the second floor,fixed 3 doors that would not close,did some repair on our front outdoor steps,and replaced a light fixture in a closet.

Description of Work: Thomas was easy to reach and and an appt was made to evaluate the issues. I needed work done in both bathrooms of my house. It included dry-wall replacement, re-tiling and some light plumbing work.

Description of Work: I used Thomas Handyman Services to replace the chimney maybe six months ago.

Description of Work: INSTALL A WALK IN BATH TUB. THE WORKMANSHIP WAS METICULOUS. EVERY SMALL DETAIL ATTENDED TO. HE HAD TO CUT A HOLE IN A BEDROOM WALL TO GET TUB INTO BATHROOM (NO MENTION ON INCREASING HIS BID). HE GAVE IT HIS ALL; 3 DAY ESTIMATE ENDED UP TO BE 6 WORKDAYS. NEVER ANY REQUEST OR HINT AT CHANGING HIS ORIGINAL BID. WHEN COMPLETED YOU NEVER KNEW HE WAS THERE EXCEPT FOR THE TUB. HE PREPARED THE REMOVED WALL SECTION AND I VOLUNTEERED TO PAINT IT.

Description of Work: Don was able to patch an opening in the bathroom wall that allowed cool and warm air to escape into the basement, (and at least once served as an escape route to a rat that found his way indoors), and he was able to match the replacement tile to the existing tile perfectly! After letting the new tile set for a few days, he returned and grouted it, leaving no mess behind. He also re-tooled the sink stopper from some material he had in his home and got that functioning again. He managed to re-attach my aging metal mailbox back onto the brick by sealing old mortar and drilling new holes to anchor the mailbox securely to the new mortar.

Description of Work: Mr Thomas repaired several small things. i) Replaced the trim around the front door, 2) replaced and painted a bathroom door. 3) repaired a crack in a wall, re textured and re painted, 4) repaired the trim around bathroom door, filled and repainted, 5) repaired the leaks inside the shower that had caused the problem, 6) repainted areas of the bathroom that had mildew, 7) re grouted the tile at the front door. On a subsequent visit, he repaired the ceiling of another bathroom, where the paint was peeling off (re textured and repainted) replaced some eaves outside which had been eaten by carpenter ants and rotted, replaced a bathroom faucet fixture.

Description of Work: Don climbed 3 flights of stairs to help my son connect a washer and dryer in a very difficult space. My son said that he was nice, easy to work with, and did a good job. Don gave me a follow up call afterwards (since I paid) to make sure everything was okay. What a concept in this day and time. I can't wait until warm weather to have him come do some painting and fence repair for me.

Description of Work: I, R.B. NIELSEN, IN ERROR,,,just sent in a report about "Ramps for Scooters" and only named one of the two men responsible for the work (Vern Roberts). These two men do work separately BUT on our job they worked together. Don Thomas has his own little company "HANDYMAN SERVICE" I had to scan the flyer I made to create a jpeg photo which will be enclosed. Together Don and Vern did the work and I would like to see both guys get the credit. This flyer has been given to my Oxygen-scooter supply store for them to show prospective customers what to do when they need a scooter....
