Description of Work: My gate was stuck closed and I had to leave for work. They were able to get a guy out to get it repaired and adjusted in just a couple of hours. I would definitely use them again and have already referred them to several neighbors that also have gates on my street.

Description of Work: Called out for preventative maintenance. Upsold me on some items more expensive than market. Also told me one spring was the wrong size but previous installer just came out and adjusted, no issue. However, did good work and I might not have addressed some issues without the call. Stick with a company you know.

Description of Work: The promotion was for $25, which we paid, but when they got to our house they said my door cost extra because of it's weight (the small print did indicate there could be additional costs, but I wasn't expecting that much more). The day after they did their job, our spring in the garage door broke. They wanted to charge us $875 to fix it. We called our usual garage door man, and he said they tightened the springs too tight for an old spring and that caused the breakage. He fixed it for $200. So a $25 promotion ended up costing us $300. | |This was our second purchase at Angie's list and both have cost us significantly more than anticipated. We have cancelled our membership.

It saddens us to hear that you were less than satisfied with the service you received from Nation Overhead Door as our company makes both customer service and quality of work our top priorities. You took advantage of one of our Big Deals for a Garage Door Tune Up, an offer for standard steel garage doors. Our offer states that wood carriage style doors are an additional fee. These doors are much heavier and require more time and specialized maintenance. At the time of your tune up, our technician recommended several repairs, some of which were necessary due to the weight of your higher grade door. The recommendations are listed on your invoice for your reference though you did not authorize the additional repairs at that time. Unfortunately, a short time later, one of your springs failed. Our quote to replace your wood carriage door multi-spring system was $675. We feel our price was quite reasonable when considering the size and weight of the door and the parts needed. We understand you received a second quote for much less to repair only the broken spring as opposed to the each of the springs on the door as we recommended. For safety reasons, we must replace the broken spring as well as the others on a multi-spring door. If we were to unwind and rewind the other springs, there would be a great chance of one or more of them breaking soon after. This can cause serious injury or even death if the wooden door were to suddenly crash down on someone. The safety of our customers and their property is very important to us. We appreciate the opportunity to provide you with service, but we will only offer no less than our best. Should you need help with your carriage door in the future, we hope that you would consider giving us a second chance. We are here for you. Thank you again.
