They sold me a top of the line warranty. (Platinum Warranty). If I had any problems, they could get it back to me within 48 hours. They lost all of my software. They told me I had to re buy all of my software. That cost me $40.00. I brought it in Thurs. of last week. They told me it would be done in 48 hrs. Today is Wednesday. They lost my software.

My experience was so so. The technician who talked to me initially was good, helpful, friendly, but the manager for the service area left me standing there waiting for about 15 minutes and was not very helpful. I finally got my problem solved, but I will not buy another computer that requires service through CompUSA. The problem has started again, 11 months after the initial service. This may be a flaw in the computer itself. I'm not blaming CompUSA for the recurrence.
Description of Work: Backed up hard drive, diagnosed computer problem and sent to manufacturer for actual repair.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. THEY DID NOT EXPLAIN THINGS WELL, AND DID NOT CALL US TO LET US KNOW OUR COMPUTER WAS READY TO BE PICKED UP. WHEN WE GOT HOME, WE DISCOVERED THAT THEY HAD 'REINSTALLED' AN OPERATING SYSTEM THAT WAS ONE STEP LOWER THAN THE ONE WE ORIGINALLY HAD. THEY ALSO FAILED TO BACK UP PASSWORD PROTECTED PROGRAMS, BECAUSE THEY COULDN'T GET INTO THEM AND CHOSE NOT TO CALL US FOR THE PASSWORDS. THUS, WE GOT HOME WITH MUCH DATA COMPLETELY WIPED OUT UNEXPECTEDLY. ALSO, AFTER 4 MONTHS, THE EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE THEY SOLD US FAILED, AND WE CAN'T GET TO ANY OF THE PREVIOUSLY BACKED UP DATA.
Description of Work: COMP USA SERVICE DEPARTMENT ANALYZED OUR COMPUTER HARD DRIVE THAT WAS VERY SLOW AND CRASHING ALL THE TIME. THEY RECOMMENDED THAT WE REINSTALL THE OPERATING SYSTEM. FIRST THEY RECOMMENDED THAT THEY BACK UP EVERYTHING TO AN EXTERNAL HARD DRIVE.

THEY WERE GREAT! THEY WERE ABLE TO FIND THE VIRUS & GET RID OF IT WITHOUT LOSING A LARGE COLLECTION OF MUSIC. THEY DID THIS WORK IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS. I WAS ESPECIALLY IMPRESSED WITH THIS BECAUSE I HAD BROUGHT THE COMPUTER IN ON A SUNDAY & IT WAS READY ON MONDAY.

I WAS HAPPY TO LEARN ABOUT HOW TO HOOK UP MY NEW DIGITAL CAMERA TO MY COMPUTER, DOWNLOAD THE IMAGES AND THEN START USING ADOBE PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS TO EDIT THE IMAGES AND STORE THEM FOR PRINTING AND FUTURE RETRIEVAL.
