I contracted with Coker Floor to install tile in my recently bought home. Everything started off fine. Installation started and work was going well until they ran out of tile to finish the project. They got about 90% finished with the tile install and ran out of tile. They tried to find matching tile from other stores around the country but none of the tile they found matched what was already laid. They contacted the original manufacturer and told me that they placed an order to have the rest made to finish the project but it would take 6 weeks to complete. 6 weeks later, I contacted them to see the status and they told me it would be another 6 weeks to ship. 6 weeks after that, I contacted them to see the status and they said they had no update for me and that the manufacturer was not giving them an update. I called the manufacturer and they said they were familiar with my project but were waiting for Coker to place the order. I was told by the installation manager (Ryan) and the owner of the company (Cody) that they did place the order but they couldn't give me the purchase order or invoice for proof. I believe they never placed the order and purposely wasted 15 weeks of my time. Not sure what type of people would do something like this. Now after multiple calls into their company to try and find resolution to this debacle they will no longer return my calls. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with any company in my life. I will now have to pay to have someone remove the tile they put down so I can install something different.

The tile began to pop up in multiple locations and could not be repaired. Coker himself looked me in the eye after a faulty installation and said tough luck due to some change of ownership technicalities. 6k to get nothing. We had to hire another company to redo the flooring, and was actually more expensive because all of the old tile had to be pulled up. The new contractor showed us how Coker has prepared the foundation incorrectly which caused the tiles to pop up. Stay clear for you own sanity and do something nice with all the money you'll save not ripping up your tile.

They sent a subcontractor to measure the next day. They gave us a 3 to 4 week delivery/installation date. After 4 weeks I had to call to find out the status. They said the blinds would be ready in another week, which they were. They were installed at the agreed day and time with no issues. They also removed the old blinds.
Description of Work: Ordered some replacement window blinds.
2 words: TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE with Coker Floor Southlake. Let me elaborate (sorry for the length!): Coker floor quoted $6,250 for carpet installation (scheduled two weeks in advance), competitive with other companies. When sales agent Tommy G stopped by with the contract, he insisted to receive $3,100 for down payment but agreed then to wait a day so I could read their terms: - Point 3: and quot;Scheduled times are approximate...and quot; - Point 19: and quot;No cancellation or change can be made after 7 days from date of contract...and quot; After 5 days, I informed Tommy G to remove just the stairs from the quote, as we would go with hardwood on them. He told me that this wasn't possible anymore as the carpet had been ordered but after referring to contract point 19, I was told and quot;Oh, OK, no problem, let me see how this affects the quoteand quot;! Removing 18 stairs and 2 landings reduced the quote by ridiculous $261.72!!! Why? Because over 85% of stairs would have been covered with 'waste-carpet-pieces' and the small reduction was just the installation fee. FINE! On 08/29, I received a call to confirm next day's installation and on 08/30, I moved all upstairs furniture to facilitate the job. The crew was supposed to start between 9-11am. Surprised that no installers were there at 10.50am, I called Tommy (who was most probably sleeping according to his voice and background noise). 45 min later or so, I received a call from the installation manager letting me know that the crew had a family emergency (sure, whatever...) and wouldn't be able to come but that she had found another crew for the next day (Tommy didn't pick up his phone anymore). Thus, I moved some basic furniture back so my wife and 2 children had a place to sleep. On 08/31, same scenario: furniture back out and at 10am, call from installation manager: no crew, thus no installation! Again, I was assured that the third crew would definitely show up the next day (09/01). So, furniture back in, on 09/01, furniture back out and call around 9am: AGAIN no crew!!! I lost my temper and oh wonder, 10 minutes later, a new crew was found that could come that day. They came but had of course the original quote, still mentioning the stairs. I tried to reach Tommy G without success.... After a 'just-ok-installation-job' (very visible seams; in addition, Tommy G never asked what patting we wanted under the carpet and went with a really hard one), all the undeniable inconvenience for a family with a baby and 3-year old, cancelled labor-day party and forced cancellation of another contractor that was supposed to work in these rooms, I asked for a small discount (not mentioning any $ amount!), now directly speaking to the sales manager Loren M. Indifferent, Loren M told me that they already made adjustments to the original quote by removing the stairs (portraying it as a big favor and not mentioning contract point 19) and that a small discount wouldn't make me happier... WRONG! Final icing on the cake, I was notified that the amount due was higher (by just $1.01) of the actual remainder. Fortunately, I had an 'email-trail', despite of Tommy G and Loren M being rather reluctant in giving things in writing! Conclusion: COKER FLOORS: NEVER AGAIN!!! Reply - I'm happy to have insisted over and over again on written correspondence! Here the facts: a) Yes, carpet is first quality because we chose it. b) No representative from Coker floor came by after installation for follow-up and quality control. I did the walk through and did not complain about the very visible seams as installation was finished and nothing could be done anymore. c) As I wrote: a small discount for all the installation-inconveniences would have made a difference and I would have certainly spent my valuable time on things more important than writing a lengthy review! d) Again false statement: I collected several quotes and after receiving a competitive quote from the last company, I told Tommy that we would agree to go with Coker floor if he would lower his initial price from $6,500 to $6,250. He could do it and that's only when we closed the deal. e) I was told about the 50% down-payment but was asked to pay the moment the contract was dropped off for signature on 08/11/14 =and gt; I asked for 24h to go over the contract and the next day (08/12/14) returned the signed contract together with my credit card information via secure email. My card was charged on 08/14/14! f) On 08/16/14, I asked to adjust the quote by removing just the stairs =and gt; on 08/19/14, I was asked to stop by at the store to go over the revised quote =and gt; It was my mistake to have stopped by at the main office @ Alpha Rd (and I never complained about that). g) On 08/21/14, I was told that removing the stairs would lower the price by $261.72. In the meantime, we asked Tommy to quote hardwood floor for several downstairs areas, including the stairs =and gt; on 08/25/14, I asked if there was a quote available for the second project but Tommy was still working on it. Absolute fine and after one miscommunication over the phone on 08/26/14 and repeated demand for written communication, I confirmed on 08/27/14 that we won't install carpets on the stairs - that was 3 days before the first scheduled installation. h) If the first crew couldn't come on a Saturday and if it's difficult to get a crew out over the remainder of the holiday weekend, be honest and let the customer know. Don't make 2 false promises, thereby spoiling the long weekend of an entire family.

I am sorry that [member name removed] feels this way, with an installation that went well and product that is first quality at this time there is not much we can do to make him happy. He said in his own words a discount will not make him happy and still will complain online. After review the only discount provided was the restocking fee of 25% that the company took the hit on, there were no more discounts provided. Here is how the process started per Tommy. There were several visits to his home. Initially, our sales representative went to his house to measure in order to provide a quote for carpet, for bedrooms and stairs. Once the quote was provided, [member name removed] did indicate that he was also obtaining other quotes from other companies. Our sales representative told him that our company would beat any competitors’ price. Several days later, [member name removed] called our company, told us the competitive quote and we were able to beat it. [member name removed] then asked about how our payment system worked. He was informed that there was 50% down payment and the balance was due once the job was complete. An arrangement was made to pick up the initial deposit, however, upon arrival, [member name removed] had changed his mind; his wife thought the price was too high (despite obtaining higher bids from other companies). Several days later, after reading our terms and conditions and re-considering the job, he (again) called our company and indicated that he wanted us to install his carpet. [member name removed] did pay us the initial 50% deposit, however, he dropped his payment off at another store location. Our sales representative returned to [member name removed] home (for a third time) to obtain payment. Once payment was received, we ordered his carpet. Six days after ordering the carpet, [member name removed] called our sales representative and indicated that he no longer wanted to include the steps in the installation. However, as [member name removed] reminded us, our company has 7 days to change an order, with a restocking fee. The stairs were removed from his initial order. Surprisingly, a few days later, [member name removed] calls our sales representative, with another change – to include the stairs! However, the day before installation was to begin (which included the stairs), [member name removed] called again to remove the stairs. We did not charge the restocking fee of 25% out of good faith, but now he was requesting more of a discount since we had a delay in the installation. Usually on holiday weekends it is very hard to stick to the approximate schedule and since this was on a holiday weekend and our installation had been closed for the holiday our team worked diligently and found a crew to work his job.

It all went really well. I got to them after seeing a great job they did at a friend's house. We visited their show room to see the options and brought some samples home. A day later Chris came to measure and provided me a comprehensive quotation on the spot. That was a relief compared to the cumbersome process I went through with the Home Depot that was also quoting this job. Chris provided a much more professional quote and that was actually a few hundred dollars lower than Home Depot's. We sealed the deal and scheduled the installation for a week after. In this meantime we had to change the floor selection due to a lack of stock on the one we have chosen, but we then actually got an even better one for no additional cost. So, this was good. On the scheduled date the installation team, headed by Jesus, came to start the work. Unfortunately, as we were renovating the whole house, our paiting was a bit delayed and they could not do much. They were flexible in this sense, and rescheduled to start a few days later, when everything was supposed to be clear for them to work. Jesus and his team did a fantastic job on the installation. They are very professional and attentive to details. In 3 days we had the work done and our new floor looks amazing.

The job was predicted to be a four day job, with the possibility of a fifth day for cleaning up details. On Monday, three installers arrived and tore up the carpets and moved furniture out of the way. On Tuesday, one installer spent some time on the concrete. On Wednesday that installer was there 30 minutes to level the floor. On day 4, Thursday, the three installers began to lay down wood. On day 6, Saturday, they ran out of wood because no one counted the delivered amount. The next Wednesday, the said more wood would be delivered within the hour so my husband rushed home to wait. It arrived sometime Thursday. On Thursday, one installer - a new person altogether, stayed until 9:30 at night to finish laying the floor. We had glue spots all over the house, which we could not get up ourselves with mineral spirits though we spent hours trying. They eventually sent the last installer, who spent four hours cleaning up some of the glue spots from the wood he had laid. We still have hundreds of glue spots all over the house.

[member name removed], I want to apologize for the timing of your job. We usually tell all of our customers that the job is an estimated time not 100% accurate. We can't predict any problems that may arise from job to job. If I remember correctly on your job we had to use 25 bags of floor prep. That alone is a two day job just on floor prep. When we have a large amount of floor prep that will be used, we must take our time in leveling out the floor rather than rushing to get the job done because the salesman said it would be a 4 day job. With that said I am not blaming the floor prep issue for the job taking much longer although it did add to the timing, we had one of our floor layers go a little slower on the installation than we wanted so we took him off the job. With regards to the shortage of material, this does happen from time to time, our salesmen can sometimes measure short, the waste factor should of been more etc. There are several variables that can make us short. The one thing we tell our customers is you would rather have us be short than to make you pay for more material not used for no reason. I assure you we don't like to be short because it comes out of our pockets not the customers. As for the glue spots I was not aware of any other outstanding issues after the last time the install team went out. If there are several spots of glue still on your floor I would love to send someone out from Coker to address that issue and resolve it. Please let us know. And once again we are very sorry for the delay on your job.

[member name removed], I apologize for the miscommunication on our part. I assure you our salesman that took his time to go out and measure your house and prepare your bid did not mean to not send it. If I remember correctly our salesman went out and you were supposed to meet him there. There was someone there that let him in but did not speak English and tried to tell him where to measure. They pointed to general areas but our salesman tried to call you to find out what to measure but could not reach you. We want to apologize for that and hope everything went well with your new floors.

They did a really good job. We have a fireplace that is all stone on the base. They had to cut around that and go all away around. We were not disappointed.

I was frustrated by the whole situation. I will not use Coker Floor Co again. He made a sample of what we wanted. They are responsive to talk to. What happened was when it came time to do the install, they were 6 hours late for when they were supposed to show up. The main guy was there at the beginning, I told him to cover up the stairs and other stuff and he didn't cover that stuff. Every time that they have somebody come out to do something, it was a different crew and the main installer usually was not there. I would tell somebody about what we wanted and then a different crew will show up who barely speak English and they have no idea. The only frustrating thing was that the main installer wasn't there when they told me he would be there. They were laying out a different color from the sample. They didn't finish the whole thing.

thanks for the comments placed today, I am having a little trouble wondering as to why they were made. Back in July of last year when we completed your floors you paid the balance and everything was great. I am shocked this is the first time I have heard any problems with your job. What happened since then? I do remember some timing issues from our scheduling and yours but nothing to this extreme. When purchasing a custom floor like you did, the samples are made for you on the floor on site. I do recall us doing this several times for you and also getting the approval to stain the whole floor after the approval. As for the crews coming and going, we do have several crews for custom floors. We have an install crew and then we have the sand and finish crew. I apologize if it caused some confusion; we will make a point to let our clients know that in advance. We are taking appropriate measures to work on our scheduling with our install teams and we are making great progress, I am truly sorry about the scheduling and wish that it would of not happened so we would of not received such a bad grade. I wish you the best.

Overall, the installation went well. First, the sales person, Chad, was quite responsive from the day I walked into the store. He helped me learn about hardwood floors and encouraged me to have multiple bids so that I could understand the process and the costs better. He also came to the house to measure and view the inside of the house, which was key to getting an accurate bid as well as for him to be aware of what the house looked like before and after the installation. The estimate offered was appropriate and fair, in line with 3 additional bids. Once the bid was accepted, I was worried that Chad would disappear - not in this case. Chad gave his cell phone number for any and all questions or concerns and maintained his availability throughout the installation. As we moved on to the installers, I was quite impressed. The installers were quite knowledgeable. Tony and crew did the installation. Tony was very responsive and attentive to details, and Diego was equally impressive. Tony and his crew were patient and pointed out any concerns they had each step of the way. As with any big job, there are always things that can go wrong or were not anticipated; and our installation was no different. However, when any of these things came up, Tony and Chad were always professional, explaining the challenges, and coming up with solutions. This is important because it says a lot about the character and professionalism of the company - in this case, Coker maintained itself as very professional. Once the flooring was done, we did have one area of the old floor that had been sanded and restained that unfortunately did not take the new stain. (nothing to do with Coker's work). When I brought this up, Chad had someone out immediately to have this area fixed. Overall, I had a great experience and our flooring looks great, with most people commenting on the flooring upon entering the house.

Asked Salesman Mike to come to the house and give an estimate and he arrived at exactly the scheduled time. After that visit and a trip to their store I ordered a plush carpet and good pad with recommendations by Mike. The installation date came and the installers arrived on time and were clean, professional and polite. One thing I should have done differently is asked the installers some questions before they began clearing out the furniture. They moved everything from the living room into my den and kitchen within ten minutes of arriving. I later realized, after being unable to navigate those two rooms for 6 hours, that with a little communication or discussion I would have asked them to put everything in the garage instead or at least leave my kitchen free. I suggest they talk with the homeowner about what should be done and how long it will take. One other minor issue is that I can see some of the seams. I asked Sam, the installation supervisor, to come look and he agreed the two seams I pointed out could use some work and he had the same installers there the next day or two. I think because the carpet is so plush it must be difficult to hide the seams because even though the guys made one seam disappear I can still see the other. All in all a good experience and the price was better than anyone, even the nationally advertised and quot;buy one room, get one freeand quot; company.

thank you for you honest comments. I did hold a meeting with the installers and we did in fact we did discuss your issue with he furniture and I believe we have resolved this happening in the future. I am glad Mike took real good care of you, he is a great salesman. We look forward to your next project when that day comes.
Coker salesman and owner Chad answered the phone and answered all our questions. We immediately went to his store on Preston Road in Dallas, where he gave us solid advice (since we have indoor pets) and helped us decide on flooring materials. He arranged financing within a day or two. They had the materials in stock, so we arranged for installation in two weeks -- at our convenience. We were told it would take three days to install, but it took only 1 1/2 days instead to install all of the flooring. The workers were friendly, professional, honest (they returned a bag of money to us that we had forgotten about), efficient, and knowledgeable. They moved all our furniture carefully and then put it back. We checked to be sure that brand names, colors and patterns were what we had ordered, and they were. Final price was exactly what was quoted. Excellent experience!

I went to the store and picked out samples to match an existing floor, then took the samples home to match the floor. When I chose the floor and placed the order we agreed upon an installation date which was very quick and acceptable - they said the floor was and quot;in stockand quot;, this was a Hardwood floor. The installers came, closed the door to the room during installation, which was fine, but, as soon as the door was opened I almost had a cornonary. The floor I was matching was a maple hardwood, the floor installed was a mottly, knotty, multi-colored, and quot;plastic sheen typeand quot; finished floor. The boxes had been cleared away, as well as the scraps so I had no evidence was to what was installed. I had the receipt and immediately went back to the store. I was told that it must be bad from the manufacturer and they would get with the rep and call me back. I asked for the sample back I had taken home and they couldn't find it. A month or two ensued of me calling, being put on hold, no returned calls by the salesman, transferred to the rude guy who headed up the scheduling of the installation, excuses, excuses, excuses. I took my receipt and googled the model name of flooring listed and found that the manufacturer of the brand on the receipt and installed was not the manufacturer of the sample I had taken home. Here are the glaring issues: 1) Seemed strange that the very floor I wanted was in stock 2) The sample was missing and conveniently hid the fact it wasn't the same floor 3) The floor and finish of the sample was a manufactured hardwood (matching the existing floor) where the installed floor is a plastic coated piece of crap 4) I had a sample for a Manninton floor and they installed a Mullican floor. I truly believe this was a blatent case of and quot;bait and switchand quot;.

Coker Flooring may say they have been in the business since 1946, but their installation team had not! We had three bedrooms to install bruce flooring. First, the salesman could not measure and calculate the square foot correctly. He was 20% higher than my calculations. He then discounted the installation by offering a flat rate. We wanted a solid company for the install, so we accepted. So, a week later on the start date, the team of two show up at 1030 am. We had all the furniture moved and the carpet pulled from the edges. They got the carpet out, did half of one room and left by 0330 pm. The next day the team of two show up at 1130 am wearing Empire flooring tee shirts. They finished the one room and left at 0430 pm. The final day one showed at noon and the other at 0100 pm. They rushed and did the other two bedrooms and put the furniture on the then drying glue. We now have gaps in the flooring and the planks are uneven. The Coker Flooring installation manager, Sam 214-256-1898, said this is normal to have gaps and uneven planks as much as a credit card thickness. We have now filed a claim with Bruce floors to see what action can be done to correct this installation mess. Do yourself a big favor and do not call Coker Flooring. They also work under Adams Floor Decor. Cody Adams is the owner of both companies but will not return your call 972-233-1188. Chris Cook, Coker Salesman, said this would be a turn key completion. Instead we got keyed.

I was very happy with the quality work this company did. They answered all my questions well, were very professional, and courteous the entire time they were here.
Description of Work: They took out the old carpet and padding in one of my 150 square foot bedrooms. They then installed brand new vinyl tiles, taking about 4 total hours to complete the job. They took all the used material and trash out and discarded it for me, when they were finished.

We were ignored for several minutes, then basically passed back and forth between two salespeople. They didn't listen to what we wanted, and seemed surprised when we said we would be getting additional estimates. Their prices were high, and the products weren't even solid wood. They were engineered! It was their rude attitude that really ticked us off.
Description of Work: We went in for an estimate on bamboo flooring.
