A-1 Clean Sweep

I told Maurice that i did not want manage his workers. He refused to manage them. I would show him what i needed & then I repeatedly had to get his crew to do the job correctly every step of the way. I repeatedly had to show them how to cover an area with liner so that it would not come up short and have vegetation grow along them back fence. They couldn't grasp this concept or putting it down without it coming up short of the pavers also. One worker told me that Maurice told them not to listen to me and just put it down however quickly. Maurice would continuously ask me if I wanted to handle the gravel install. I found this to be beyond bizarre because this is what I was paying him to do. He finally told me the reason was because he came up short on paying for it. He tried to say the area was to be muclh and not gravel as agreed. I paid the entire delivery again and we agreed on lawn service credits that he later refused to make good on. This is one of many examples. This sort of thing happened over and over. He would also constantly involve me in pay disputes with his employees. Make false claims to them that I said certain things about them. We would agree on a new price to finish the job and I would pay him. He would show up and say that we never made this agreement even when I showed him proof. I finally paid again so Kevin his only good employee would get paid. I told him that my daughter slipped on the drive way because of the gravel he left on it. I showed him and he acted concerned & would clean it up with the other debris. He left & refused to tell me why he didn't. After many calls he finally said because he didn't bring his blower with him, I said why not let me know about that with a call or text. His reply- "that's not how I do business." Funny, his business is called A1 Clean Sweep and he wouldn't clean up. I repeatedly tried to get him to finish the job and he texted me a photo of Adolph Hitler. The only good thing that came out of this was a new dependable landscaper & mower, Kevin 708-261-8360.

Planting was excellent except 1 of the plants was placed in the wrong location.. Tree trimming was good, but trimmings were not placed in the requested location

I called A-1 Clean Sweep because I was looking for a company that could come out and clean up our yard within a few days because our house was going on the market sooner than we thought. I called several companies and all of them said, "Sorry, I can't come and give you a price quote for several days; let alone do the work." The morning I called; the owner was at my house in 15 minutes. He said they could start the job the next day but they actually started later that same day. Keep in mind that this was this years first spring season cut-so lots of leaves/pollen/etc. where packed into the grass. First, they used a blower in the front yard to blow out all the oak pollen and leaves from our single large oak tree in the front yard. Then they cut the grass with a mower and simutaneously sucked up the rest of the loose leaves with the mower. They spent quite a-bit of time going back and forth in our small front yard to be sure they got most of it. Then, they de-thatched our front and back yards. They did this by hand raking the entire lot of dead grass. They bagged it. Our grass is St. Augustine. Once the dethatching was completed they came in with a yard of dirt and spread it evenly in low areas of the yard and they layed down fertilizer for us. They also trimmed our bushes nicely, cleaned out our flower beds of grass debree and layed down some new mulch. The last thing they did was cut a limb from our front tree and sprayed the exposed limb. They also hauled away all leaves, pollen, grass and tree limb. A-1 Clean Sweep was careful to clean up after themselves each day. All employess were polite. I would recommend them to anyone who needs alot done for a fair price and in a short amount of time. Their quick response, helped our house get on the market on time. My next door neighbor asked for their number while they were working on our yard and she hired them to put new sod in part of her front yard and all of her back yard. They started her yard as soon as they were finished with ours. The only reason I scored a " B for Punctuality " was sometimes I had to call them to see when they were coming bye. When I called, everytime they were on their way but just hadn't called to tell me they were coming. They also maintain yards on a weekly/bi-monthly basis. We highly recommend.

The yard really looks a lot better and cleaned up after the work. I did have to call back because the side of the house was not done and still had some excessive leaves in the back. They were very courteous and came back and completed job.

Their pricing was a little too high. I thought that they were fine and showed up and worked on the yard and property. They were polite and friendly. They showed up when they said they were going to be here and were professional.

This is the most professional lawn service we have ever used. If they see something that needs to be trimmed or stray weeds that need to be pulled, they don't wait for us to ask them, they just do it! The flowerbed makeovers took several hours. The entire team worked hard and there were no slackers. They bundled up the brush and hauled it away. Besides that, Maurice doesn't charge outrageous amounts for doing this work well. He is reasonably priced and gets in and out without hassle.
