Independent Overhead Doors

.Contacted this company and spoke with Doug at 9am; he said that he could be here by 10am; arrived at 9:40am. Doug came in, assessed the issue, installed a new coil, adjusted the door, lubricated everything and was done. It all happened so fast and he was friendly enough that I offered him a cup of coffee as he provided guidance on how to keep the door lubricated. Very professional, prompt and courteous.

I experienced a problem in which my garage door would descend part way, stop in the middle and then ascend again. At first it would only happen occasionally, but got worse as time progressed. I called Overhead Door because they were local and came highly recommended through Angie's list. I called on a weekend and found them highly responsive. The gentleman came to my home that same afternoon. Even though the door would not repeat the issue when he tested it (of course), he listened to my description of the problem and was able to determine and fix the likely culprit (the track needed adjustment). In addition, he changed out the capacitor which was making a hissing sound and giving off an electrical-burn smell. He also lubricated the rollers and garage door opener screw which made the operation much quieter overall.

I would feel confident to recommend Doug in the future.

I crashed the top of my car with the bottom panel of the garage door because the garage door hadn't opened up all the way. I called up a few companies and Doug was the only one who was willing to come down to give a free estimate. He told me he would be at my place in an hour and he was true to his word. He saw the problem, gave me an estimate and said the job would be done in a small amount of time. He was good at his word. He fixed the roller on one side that had come off, straightened the garage door which was bent out from the middle and fixed the cable wire that was out of loop. He then sprayed spring, nut and bolt and hinge with a lubricant. He was thorough, efficient and very professional.

I called at 6 a.m., and Doug was here by 6:30. He was very friendly and professional, and the door is working perfectly. He never did figure out for sure what was wrong (because of course the door worked when he arrived). But he re-mounted one of the sensors and serviced the opener, made sure it was working well, and told me to be sure to call if it had more problems (he said there's a 90-day warranty on the service).

Doug arrived on time. Installation was difficult, because I was missing some parts. He left to buy them and only charged me extra for the parts, not the extra labor and driving/shopping time. Very knowledgeable and helpful with my choice of opener. My husband likes the new opener so well that he wants another for the other side. Me, too!

Just moved into my new home and already experienced being locked out! Emailed Independant Overhead Doors asking if they could install a remote keypad. Doug promptly replied to my inquiry and sent the cost estimate. Scheduled the install for a few days later (my request). Doug arrived a few minutes early and performed preventive maintenance on my doors and gave me advice on what I could expect longevity wise. He installed and programmed the remote. Final charge was slightly under estimate due to Angies List coupon. I wholeheartedly recommend this company, Doug is prompt, competent, professional and charges an honest fee. Can't ask for anything more when looking for someone to work on your home!

After selecting Independent Overhead Doors from Angie's list, I called and talked with Doug (Owner) and arranged to meet him at the the house where the repair work was to be done. He was very prompt/on-time (even a little early) when meeting me at the location. Doug was very courteous and easy to talk to.He evaluated and explained only the "necessary" repair work that needed to be done and did not try and "sell me" on anything else.The price he quoted me to do the work was more than reasonable. I agreed to let him make the repairs on the Garage Door. He had all of the necessary parts on his truck to complete the job while he was there. He did a "great job" fixing the Garage Door and I would highly recommend his Company/Service to anyone !!

Our Garage Door rollers flew off the track last night when I went to close the door. Needless to say it stopped half way and popped off the track. I called Independent Overhead Doors and Doug was at our house within 20 minutes. He gave me an estimate and came back this afternoon (on time) and repaired our door. We are very pleased with his professionalism, promptness and service!

They could not do the work because it was not anything they could repair because it was structural. They were prompt, courteous, and did a nice job.

Excellent service, reasonably priced, knowledgeable in his trade and pleasant demeanor. All reasons why I would this company again. Mr. Holloway installed a new opener and replaced a spring in about two hours. He showed up on time, stuck to his estimate and even gave me an Angie's list discount! I would hightly recommend this service.

I contacted the folks here late in the day on Thursday and was happy to get through to someone immediately- no call back required! And had an appointment set for the next morning, given a 30 minute window. Bill showed up on time and explained how he would fix the broken bracket and price. He also looked over the rest of the garage door and opener. Mentioned that the rollers could use replacing and would quiet down the opening/closing. Went ahead and had it all done- he was done within 30-40 minutes. Very professional folks and very nice as well. Would highly recommend and would use again in the future!

Called around noon on the 21st of December. Explained what the problem was and was told he would be at our house within the hour. Approximately 30 mins later the gentleman arrived and fixed the garage doors. He was efficient and knowledgeable. We received a discount for being on Angie's list.

Adjusted system to the extent possible. Pointed out issues with our 20+ year old system. From both an operational and safety standpoint. Openers were replace at a fair price. System works fine.

They did a good job! The technician showed up when he said he would and recommended some other things that I hadn’t considered earlier, but he took care of the problems that I did have. We were satisfied overall!

After finding Independent Overhead Doors on the List, being impressed with the ratings and finding them very close to my home, I researched their website. There I was able to find links to the types of doors I wanted. I emailed them on a Monday exactly what I was looking for. Doug called me back the same day. We set up an appointment for measurements and bid for the next day, which I had to re-schedule for Wednesday because of my work. Doug was very flexible with me. He even showed up a little early for our 6pm appointment with an assistant. Within a few minutes he handed me a printed bid which I accepted on the spot as being very reasonable. He required no advance payment. The next morning (Thursday) he called me early to tell me that their supplier has what I want in stock and he could even start the same day with installation. I was lucky enough to have a family member home that day to give them access to the garages, and when I got home from work that evening I had two new doors that look and work great. I got exactly what I wanted at a price I found very acceptable. What else can you ask for? And how often does that happen? So, that's a free market exchange! Who knew? Doug was quick, efficient, prompt, hard working, pleasant and skillful. I'm trying to find contractors like him to address the other projects I have pending. I appreciate Angie's List for the service they offer in that pursuit. Thanks again, Doug.

They did a good job and worked very efficiently. I was a little disappointed they came to my house numerous times for payment when I had already paid them.

Called Independent Overhead Doors early Tuesday afternoon. Explained the problem and answered his questions. Doug gave an estimate and was able to be at my house in less than 1 hour. He came in and expected the garage door; went to his truck and retrieved the proper springs and installed both springs. Tested the garage door; made some minor adjustments and was done in less than 1 hour. Gave me a 2 year warranty on the springs and work. My garage door and opener now works again. Am very pleased with the service.

Very punctual, actually arrived early. Professional and polite. Thorough. Explained everything he did and described lubrication procedure I could do myself. Will definitely use again.

I called on a Sunday afternoon, and work was performed promptly, as promised, on Monday morning. Easy and simple as it should be. I would call these guys again.

They were prompt and kept me posted on the issues and what needed to be done to fix them in a timely matter with as little expense to me
