After many phone calls and emails, Dwayne finally had the crew come fix the front edge but the first time we took a shower the water wouldn't drain. We called Dwayne that morning which was Thanksgiving day to let him know. He said he had never had this happened before and what did we do to cause this. We didn't do anything! He said it was going to cost a lot to have a plumber come out so my husband had a contact of his give us a quote which Dwayne accepted since it was cheaper than what his plumber would charge. Our plumber found that there was cement in the drain and the only way to get to it was from under the house. Dwayne had his guys come out and dig the hole underneath the shower but they had to come back because they did not dig it deep enough. The hole had to be at least five feet deep as we instructed. We have pictures of all of this - inside and out. Dwayne promised to reimburse us for the plumber but has refused since "I no longer work for your boss" he was no longer going to help us. The shower works now but looks bad. This crew also redid our ceilings which turned out bad. The ceilings were done poorly in the living room and kitchen. There are cracks were it was put on too thick. They came back out and repaired it but it's still cracked and ugly. In the den, when they were spraying on the new orange peel texture, they got it on the painted walls. They bought the paint and repainted the walls to our satisfaction. Dwayne never came to look at this himself which caused quite a bit of confusion on his part. Many emails were sent back and forth trying to explain it. We are very discouraged and don't know what else to do. Dwayne is telling us that this work is not his responsibility and that he gave us a good deal by having Scott and his crew do the job without his being involved. We did not even know that he had given us this "deal". We thought we were dealing with DH Enterprises just like my boss had. All of this has been done through Dwayne. But, none of the other issues have been fixed and we don't want them back in our home to repair the crooked backer board or ceilings. It's too difficult to get straight answers and follow-up from them. I have an email from Dwayne dated March 26, 2008 stating that he would reimburse us for the plumber and that he had paid $2,600 to fix the drain. We asked him what he had spent that money on but have not heard from him since them. He thinks we should contact Scott W to reimburse us but we will not do that. Our contact was with DH Enterprises.
Description of Work: My previous boss manages HOA's and uses DH Enterprises LLC for work she needs done. They remodeled two showers in her home, painted and redid the ceilings in her living room and master bedroom. I was very impressed with the work they did and their prompt attention to a few small issues that needed to be addressed. We worked out of her home so I saw the progress of the project. My husband and I were getting quotes to remodel our master bath shower, redo the ceiling in our living room, kitchen and den so we decided to have DH Enterprises give us a quote. We received a quote on their letterhead on August 8, 2007 for $3,471.57 that we accepted and we would provide the materials. We gave the supervisor, Scott W, a deposit of $2,000 on August 11, 2007 and the work was started shortly thereafter. When the work was complete, we noticed that the front edge of the pan was crooked and that they used warped green backer board and didn't mix the mortar properly so now the mortar is cracking. Unfortunately, we paid them the balance owed of $1,471.57 on August 27th. We contacted Scott to no avail at which time we contacted the owner, Dwayne Henry. He also had a hard time getting a response and finally sent a worker from a different crew but he wouldn't touch it. Dwayne said that he would continue to try to contact the original crew.

Response from DH ENTERPRISES LLC.
We have an impeccable record with several HOA single family, multifamily and light commercial management companies. I have over 35 years in the construction, restoration industry. The member as happens a lot in this industry is not telling "ALL" the story. She approached me to do her a "favor" and get her shower done cheaper. I told her I would give her one of my tile mans phone numbers. I did. Scott W. who was a salesman and no longer works for me, did her a favor. She asked if they could buy material to cut cost. He let them. They also don't say that they went on vacation and delayed work. She also negates the fact that her tile she picked and paid for was also delayed. She also negates the fact I never received a penny from her. She also does not disclose the fact that after I found out about issue, I sent my men out to work on the weekend before thanksgiving, had them work after hours on Sunday to dig under home for FREE. She does not disclose her husband insisted we dig at point A when we told him it was point B. Then yes we dug again, where we knew it was. He insisted on using his people to repair pipe. They do not disclose the fact they have settlement issues on foundation, which is why grout is cracking. They do not disclose they did some of the work on shower which makes them assume part of the responsibility. This was a diy job for the member's which turned out badly. I feel badly for there experience, however we/I have nothing to do with it, other than trying to help them through it.If they continue to slander my name, we will call our attorney.
