I met Mike at a location to give him my PC. After returning home, I realized that I didn't get an opportunity to tell him all of my concerns. I phoned him later that day and left a message. He never returned my phone call that evening or the next day regarding what I had called about. He called me later in the afternoon the next day and said that my computer was ready. He told me all he did was run a Mal-ware Bytes program and removed some Mal-ware. I couldn't believe that was all he did for my computer after I had told him in detail how messed up and non-functional it had become. I was upset and didn't understand why he was telling me that it was OK and it didn't need any extra memory that I asked to have put on. He insisted that it was OK and that I meet him to pick it up. I went to meet him and he was late showing up. He told me that after he hung up with me he found something else that was wrong and he needed to keep it longer so he could "wipe" the hard drive. He said that he tried to call me on my land line but I had already left. He would have caught me if he listened to the voice mail I left him the night before with my cell phone number on it to call me back. Instead I had driven from my house to the other end of town to meet him at the location of his choice where I had to sit in the sun baking with no shade to seek relief in. It was a huge inconvenience to stop what I was doing and meet him there only to find out that he had not done his job thoroughly enough to know that there was something more wrong with the computer than what he was telling me. If he had just returned my call and communicated with me, but he did not. I had to plan my entire day around waiting for him to contact me and then driving to meet him to pick up my computer rather that being able to pick it up at my convenience. Mike told me not worry that none of my information or programs would be lost when he wiped the hard drive. Not to worry more often means you better start being concerned because stuff is about to happen. Again, I had left that previous message with him to express my concerns about all the things on my system that I wanted saved. He never addressed that message or my concerns. I think this is a good place to state that Mike did not communicate at a level that was satisfactory to me. It was as thought I was being talked at or to instead of with. He just wanted to tell me everything about MY computer and not to worry. So he kept the computer for another day to wipe the hard drive. I met him again to pick it up and when I got it back I noticed all my programs had not been reinstalled plus the Malware program he had just told me he put on it was not there. And he had not checked out the keyboard as he previously mentioned he would. So I agreed to meet him again to give him back my PC so he take care of these things I was not happy with. When I got my PC back my programs and settings had not been restored. His answer was that I could re-install them from the internet. Of course I could, that being the obvious but not the answer I had hoped to hear I knew I had made a mistake in going to him for my computer repairs. I did not want to deal with him any further at this point. He insisted once again to let him reinstall the programs. He never even bothered to ask me all of the ones that I had and wanted saved. He reinstalled a couple of the ones I mentioned, but didn't bother to go any further. I am still trying to get the settings correct as I am getting error messages that I do not know how to correct since he returned it to me. I am still attempting to recover my lost programs. Bottom line is that I lost a lot of my programs and settings and the computer doesn't run any better than it did before I gave it to him. I am now experiencing more problems such as the computer shutting down on me while I am using it. Also, before I dropped my computer off Mike told me that his prices had remained the same as before and then he charged me $20 more than the previous time. He basically took my money and did nothing to fix my computer. I am still experiencing the exact same problems. What a shame that I wasted my time and money for such poor service and results.
Description of Work: I contacted the provider because my laptop PC was extremely slow and I was experiencing a myriad of problems. I told him that I was not sure what was causing the problems, a virus or registry errors or some kind of hardware issue. I wanted to have the hard drive checked out to see if it was going bad. I also told him that I wanted to have some memory added. I was experiencing problems with the keyboard as well that I asked to have checked out. when I type the cursor keeps jumping around backwards and starts typing in the middle of a previous sentence or there is a delay in the characters appearing after they are typed. At one point the keyboard completely froze up on me and quite working.
