Requested in May via email. Service did not respond. Texted to request discussion. Finally called and connected. Service suggested waiting until fall to complete the job. I indicated that was okay. I just didn't want all the beds to be completed at once, I wanted them to be spread out over a few months. He agreed. September passed and didn't hear anything from him. Finally reached him in October, he stated he would contact me in November. Reminded him that I didn't want everything done all at once, he said he would spread out the payments. I again reiterated that I didn't want everything done all at once. NOvember he called, we reviewed what needed to be done again. He indicated a date he would start....didn't show up. Waited a few days and then he appeared.....AND he had created a bed where I didn't want nor need a bed (because I'm expanding the patio next year and the bed is right where the new patio would be). Walked around the yard with him and was extremely annoyed. He assured me he would mulch it and it would be fine...he neglected to inform me that it would create a mess and I'd have to walk through it to get to the dogs EVERY DAY. He didn't create a path. It is a mess. When we walked around the front, he asked me for the 3rd time...you have a sentimental attachment to these plants, right? And I reminded him NO, but I do have a financial attachment. I purchased 6 bushes and 2 ornamental grasses and paid to have them planted the year before. I told him he could MOVE them and asked where he would move them.....and then he changed the subject. I had this same conversation with him 3 times. He didn't come back when he said he would but a few days later he did and he had removed and trashed the 6 plants I had specifically told him not to remove. When I confronted him about the mulch issue in the back, the unfinished bed in the back and the missing plants from the front, he credited me $75 on my >$1000 bill. The plants cost more than that and when you factor in what I originally paid to have them planted, then what he charged me when he removed them, plus what he charged me for the day he spent creating a bed I had not requested and did not want, it is very clear this company's focus is not customer service. He did a great job trimming the trees. And removed the butterfly bush as requested. When we discussed the bed he added, he originally said he would not charge me for mulch, but he did charge me for mulch. He did significantly more bed work than was requested. I also feel he charged me for that bed work based on the overall charge. I had originally thought, if he would correct the situation appropriately, I would use him for small jobs, one at a time to avoid future confusion. After this experience, it is best not to use him. Granted, the work he does, looks nice. The problem is, it is not what you discussed with him, or on the timeline that you agreed to.... 1. Removed healthy plants and disposed of them after being told not to 3 times. 2. Created a bed around the patio after being told not to twice. 3. Didn't show up when he said he would. 4. Didn't complete work when he said he would. 5. Dumped grass in the shared public space (returned and removed after I specifically told him I did not want him to return to my address). 6. One of the plants he planted has since died. I notified him during the summer that it was not doing well and the root ball was exposed. He indicated it was nothing to worry about...fast forward and it is dead. 7. DId not complete all beds requested. Would not use his services again.
Description of Work: In May, requested a new flower bed be created around the air conditioning unit and have the front bed reworked. I also requested a brand new bed be created by a large tree in the back yard and a few other small yard projects (trim trees, remove a butterfly tree).
