John and his crew demolished the two large sections of driveway and prepared the bed with compacted gravel and poured new concrete. He repaired the smaller cracks in other sections with a filler material. It is rare these days to have a service provider show up when they say they will and do a professional job. However, John and his crew exceeded my expectations. They were on the job and working exactly as promised. John was not just overseeing the work but rather he played an active part in carrying out the work. They were quick and thorough and the new driveway sections look great. He was not the lowest quote but as I talked to each of the contractors who provided quotes, John provided a plan and exhibited confidence and professionalism that made it worth paying the higher price. I would hire them again and will recommend them to anyone needing concrete work.

Things went well. It took them a reasonable amount of time to get to my project. John is not the typical business owner. He is also one of the workers and this crew is hard working.

extremely rude and disrespectful of my time. was a no show, I had to call to see where he was, he was in another county more than an hour away with no intention of calling to let me know he wouldn't be there. DO NOT USE THIS PERSON!!!! Imagine, if it'd that difficult to get a quote or work, how difficult it probably is AFTER HE GETS YOUR MONEY!!!! WARNING, DO NOT USE!!!!!

In Late May we had the work done. John and crew showed up each day when they said they would and kept us informed of the status and plans each day. They are very hard workers. They pumped a couple truckloads of cement, and poured three more truckloads. We are very very pleased with the finished product. I have already recommended John to two family members and a friend who need concrete work done.

They came out gave us the best price. Showed up when they said they would. Overall went well only bad thing is they don't do anything but Cement and they aren't set up to bring in people like plumbers.

They were early to arrive, worked hard all day, and were pleasant to have around. I will recommend them to anyone needing concrete work and will use them again when I need more work done.

The new patio looks exactly as it should. it is property sloped and the water is no longer running into the building. John was very professional and returned all emails and calls promptly. He provided the service on time and within the original bid. I will definitely use him for any future projects.

Lowest of three bids. Selected for price and Angie's list ratings. John Alguire is very professional. He worked alongside his men and completed the job in two days. There were a couple of minor issues. First, I had asked for window frame outline on the walkway, but John forgot to do it. That's partly my fault for not watching as they poured. John gave me a discount for the work not performed. Second, his men left a lot of concrete debris when they removed the forms. I called John and he immediately came with his crew to clean it up. So overall, the job was done very well. There has been no cracking of the concrete at all because expansion joints were provided where needed, and the drainage is good. The driveway and walk have received many favorable comments from neighbors and friends. I would definitely use Alguire Construction for other projects.

John Alguire is the consummate professional. We were 100%+ pleased and receive regular compliments from our neighbors. I would definitely refer and recommend Alguire Services to anyone in need of cement services. John, himself was always on the job, actually working the job himself in many cases. DO book ahead and remember that all excellent service providers stay busy. DO be flexible and remember cement work is affected by weather so your anticipated work date may be delayed and it is only fair that jobs are finished in the order of their bookings. You will definitely be rewarded by the wait time should you have any as Alguire is the best of the best and yes I am very particular in services that I request!

.the did a great job and we are pleased with the final product, the foundation was to code, the block work was solid filled, the slab and drive way were done well. i have called to get the estimate to finish the driveway from this company.

They came on time. Did the work in a most neat fashion. The finished sections look great. The also re-did the sub ground so that the new concrete will be stable. I dreaded this project, thinking I was in for a big mess. They were very prompt and neat. A pleasant surprise!

We did have to a few weeks party because of the weather and partly because they were booked up. Work is first quality. They were very professional and cleaned up leaving no mess whatsoever . Looks great, well done.

If you will look up the Chattanooga Better Business Bureau 2015 Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics, you will see that Alguire Construction won first place! We are thrilled that John won this award, but we are not surprised. I've dealt with many contractors and businesses in my 67 years and have never met anyone with the integrity and business and personal ethics of John Alguire. John and his crew were great. On time, cleaned up and finished on time. We will use him again for a driveway this fall.

He did a new driveway and sidewalk for us, and the work turned out really well.

They completed the demolition of the old drive in one day and did the pour in one day as well. The results are great. The new drive is of much better quality than the old one. It now has move expansion joints and better contours for drainage down the hill and away from the house. We are very pleased with the result.

The end result was excellent. They reinforced the concrete with a significant amount of rebar, fiber-based concrete and added plenty of expansion seams for potential cracking. The only ding was: they broke some ceramic tiles that had to be replaced and re-grouted. John Alquire is an extremely nice guy and a pleasure to work with. He is true to his word and is a hard worker that honors what he says. I would recommend him to others and use his services again.

, So far so good. They responded very quickly. John came out and met my husband and assessed the job. He emailed a quote the next day, which we accepted and emailed back. He called -- I think the same day and set up the job, came out when they said they would, did the job, cleaned up after themselves and left. They were very professional and we would certainly use them again or recommend them to anyone.

John Alguire responded promptly to our inquiry, was on time for the meeting scheduled to review the project, offered several helpful suggestions about the best way to proceed, and sent a detailed proposal with several options. Once we agreed on the final details, John and his crew showed up when scheduled and completed the project in a timely manner. The finished product exceeded our expectations. That said, John's crew did fall short in some areas. First, the worker responsible for cleaning up the "over pour" along the sides of the new driveway did a pretty poor job. Secondly, we found more than a few small piles of waste materials -e.g., dried concrete where buckets had been emptied - under shrubs and plants in our yard. Finally, and most important, the runoff from the project partially obstructed an underground drain line which eventually became blocked and then overflowed. On balance, however, we're pleased with our experience and would not hesitate to call John again.

They came the first day and jackhammered the driveway and hauled it all away. Very clean job site. The following day the whole crew came and poured the driveway. Very meticulous work and courteous crew. The job turned out beautifully and we were very pleased with the whole experience. We will definitely use them again when we get ready to put in a stamped concrete patio in our back yard.

John Alguire prides himself on being responsive and professional. His crews do good (not perfect) work. He gets the job done when he says he will, at the price that he quotes with a minimum of drama. That is a lot more than can be said of many contractors. My only significant complaint was that more care was not taken to install the perimeter foundation bolts. I had to cut off four of the bolts because they were placed in the middle of doorways. This reduced the effectiveness of the holding power and were a nuisance to cut off. If you hire John to build a concrete foundation, make sure that when the do the pour that they pay attention to this detail.

We found Alguire Construction on Angie?s List and asked John Alguire to come to our home about two years ago for a quote for a 24?x24?slab. The price was good and just when we were going through with the project my wife?s shoulder unexpectedly had to be operated on. In all the scheduling of surgery and recovery we forgot to contact John to let him know we could not follow through with the project. Now, a couple of years later we contacted a different company to give us a quote for a 16?x32?slab. This company would not return our phone calls even though we accepted their bid! After several weeks of missed phone calls or no contact at all we decided to call John not knowing if he would even come out since we never contacted him to let him know we could not have the work done a couple of years before. John promptly came out the following day and gave us a quote on the 16?x32? slab and set a date for July 1, 2014. He arrived as promised. His crew worked like a fine tuned machine. John continually checked and rechecked his measurements to insure everything was perfect. Our back yard was soft from all the rain we?ve had and they were not able to use their Bobcat. They had to dig everything by hand, the footer, removing the grass and digging to the proper depth, and spreading the necessary gravel, plus there were tree roots everywhere. They never complained or asked for more money, they just got it done. On July 3, 2014 John returned and pumped the concrete into the form and meticulously finished smoothing the slab. On July 4, 2014 John returned and scored the slab to insure that it would not crack. I?ve worked many construction jobs in the past and have never seen a concrete crew put so much attention into detail. They even put up with Ruby, our Rottweiler, when she butted her nose in to see what was going on! We will be using Alguire Construction again to extend our drive way. You can count on Alguire Construction to do quality work and they do it as if it was going on their own property.

They came out, emailed a detailed cost estimate and detailed specifics of the job. When the weather was permitting they formed the project, poured the concrete, finished the concrete. Possibly due to weather, some of the concrete formed hairline cracks, they assessed the cracking and cut out and replaced areas that the cracking was not superficial. Did a great job overall.
