6th Man Movers

They were on time and ready to go. They knew our goal was to maximize the space of a 16' POD and load as much as possible. To that end they were able to fill it from to to bottom with all space utilized, however some of the items we listed as priority to be in the POD did not make it. We are now having to store those items separate.

They are good.They had a $299 special on Angie's List, but they said that was not for frequent, so I did a $50 off. I have used them a number of times now, this is not the first time, and they have been good.

These guys were incredible. John and Josh (twin brothers) moved us in a 24 ft. truck. They literally did not stop the entire time. If anything I only got in their way. They took extreme care with my furniture and home - to the same degree I would care for my own personal belongings. The setup/administrative process was very timely and informative. Though I personally base my review on the services performed, the ease of setting up the appointment, discussing the process and details (e.g. moving pads, scheduling, payment, etc.) has value and made the overall experience that much better. I can not speak highly enough of how satisfied I am with this service and provider. This has easily been the best value Angie's List deal I have purchased to this point. If you want it done fast, with extreme care, and for the best price in TN - stop right here and do business with 6th man.

They were on time, they even called ahead. They were professional and very careful with my items. I was very pleased with their services... they worked very hard that day. I would highly recommend them to others.

Outstanding! I wish I had my information here at work so I could mention the 2 men by name, but their work ethic and efficiency was excellent, and they ended up moving more than I originally planned. They took a total of four hours to get all my furniture loaded, moved, and unloaded. In fact, I was packing boxes as they were working, and they were so quick that they ended up taking quite a few boxes and totes to stay busy while I was working. It even started raining pretty hard as they were unloading the last bits of furniture and they didn't slow down. Thank you! I highly recommend 6th Man to anyone who is looking.

They called to confirm the move, then called once again to let us know they were on the way and when to expect them. They arrived within a suitable window of time allowing for traffic. We had no complaints...they were very open to what we asked of them and performed the work without issue.

We had recently sold our home and were moving into an apartment until our new home was completed. Although the majority of our household goods and furniture had been moved into storage by a national moving company with storage capabilities, we still needed to move the items we needed for the apartment. Thus, we used 6th Man Movers. Things couldn’t have gone more smoothly. They did an excellent job. They were on time, very helpful, extremely efficient and the two gentlemen that did the move were just that – gentlemen!

Do not leave them unsupervised. They arrived 30 minutes late, but got right to work. Worked very hard, were very professional. I was moving items from a home I sold, some items were to go to an apartment, some to a storage unit. . The items were in clearly designated areas as to what went where (all boxes in the house go to the apartment, boxes in the garage to to the storage unit). The truck was packed so that items going to the apartment were loaded first, then items going to the storage unit - supposedly so that they knew exactly what items were to be delivered. They went to the storage unit first to unload those items, I did not stay to supervise as the truck was packed in such a way they should have known exactly what went in the unit. I should have stayed - at least 40 boxes from the house (many clearly marked as food items-who puts food an hot storage unit?) were loaded into the storage unit, along with furniture items that were to go to the apartment. They paid no attention to what they were doing - they brought my bookcase to the apartment, but put the shelves in the storage unit. That's just one example. Because moving day is so crazy, I did not realize what had happened until after they left. I called to see if they would send 2 guys to help pull items out of storage that should not have been there. No truck, just two guys. They wanted me to pay them an additional $250. I contacted a competitor - they will do it for $99. So, even if you think they understand the instructions they have been given, make sure you stay to supervise every move they make or it will cost you!

Told one price when we paid the deposit and then later they tell us we're only getting 2 men and not 3. It costs us a lot more than we had planned or in our budget. I will never give a deposit for anything without everything in writing first. I suggest you do the same.

It went great! Completely personal from the time they arrived to the time they left. Communicated with us through out the day on status of move, the condition of furniture before it was wrapped and asked questions when concerns arose regarding anything. All three guys in the crew were easy to get along with. They were clean in the process and worked hard to avoid mistakes with corners and stairs. They took extra precautions in the new house with all hardwood floors. We had no damages to our furniture, which is all very large over sized wood pieces including a piano. They even finished the moved an hour and half under the estimated time. Now we had everything disassembled for them and did not want them reassembling so we helped a lot to decrease total time. The entire process was smooth and easy including the initial phone calls with the office and the sales team who came out to do an onsite estimate. Would use them again if the time arises and will recommend them to friends.

We are so disappointed. We've used 6th Man twice, and were extremely happy with them both times. We gave them high Angie's List reviews and recommended them to many. However, their rates have since gone up to $110 per hour plus they are now charging a $60 service fee...that comes out to $140 per hour for the 2-hour minimum. (We paid a $50 service last time, but the hourly rates were less and they knocked off some time for us. so overall it was well-priced.) Now they are pricing themselves out of the market. Too bad. The guys doing the actually moving have been great, but due to management decisions it's time to look elsewhere.

6th Man Movers did a terrific job and they were a pleasure to work with. Their estimate was right on target. Rachel in the home office answered all of our questions and was a delight to talk to. The moving team led by Charlie was right on time, was very professional, and did a quality job throughout the move. The team of 4 were great guys and their friendliness did a lot to take the stress out of the day. You should also take a look at their website, which I thought was imaginative and informative. I was very impressed overall.

Everything went well. Packed one day and loaded van to move and moved next day.

My movers were Bennett, Charlie and John. We were scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. but there was a slight delay of 15-20 minutes. Bennett called with an update of this information and provided their ETA. The young men arrived and, after we did a walk through of the house to make sure everyone was on the same page about what was being moved, etc., they went to work. Talk about energy! They worked at a brisk and steady pace all morning. We did experience some rain and they used that time to wrap furniture and get it ready to go on the truck. They didn't stop until the truck was full. Once we arrived at the new house the items were unloaded quickly, placed in the appropriate rooms, beds reassembled and ready to go. We are very pleased and again, appreciate the strong work ethic and sense of customer service these young men displayed. They were very personable, professional and put me at ease right away about whether or not a good job would be done. I would not hesitate to refer 6th Man Movers.

I'm not sure if the crew were professionals, but if not they should be the model for professional movers. A crew of four arrived on time, and they started working on packing a large house worth of furniture, boxes, and other items into the truck---hauling things down from the attic to the main floor, and then down a variety of stairs to the truck. They worked continuously, without slowing down, and had the house completely packed into the trucks in a little over three hours. They then took a five minute break as they drove to the new hours to pick up something to drink and a sandwich, and then had us unpacked, again without hesitation or slowing down. Moreover, they were careful with the boxes and furniture, not just throwing it on the truck or into the new house, but taking appropriate care and setting (even heavy items ) down gently. I would use these movers again, and recommend them without hesitation.

The crew did a very nice job of moving our boxes, furniture and some garage items. They were very careful with our items, and the whole team was very cheeful and friendly while they were working so hard! Reliable movers are hard to find, these guys showed up when they were scheduled and worked hard and carefully all day. The move ended up taking twice as long (and therefore cost twice as much) as the original estimate, so be careful to plan accordingly. And even after a long day, they never slowed down and were very helpful. We certainly appreciate their hard work and would highly recommend them to anyone (and have!)

The guys showed up on time, had plenty of hustle and a great positive attitude. (Also super courteous) They packed up the trucks, unloaded quickly at the new house, moved lots of boxes around in the new house and also helped get a good chunk of things unpacked. They did a great job and were very careful with our belongings. (And with my 18 month old who liked toddling up to the biggest mover he could find and roaring at him)

We used 6th Man for an in-town move about 15 miles away from a 2 bedroom condo to a house. Three movers came on time and were pleasant to deal with. The one who took the furniture apart was skilled. They took great care to protect our things. Nothing was damaged or broken. I bought them pizza for lunch and they were very appreciative. There were two negatives. One of the movers literally reeked of cigarette smoke, so much so that the condo and the new house smelled like smoke for a day or so afterward. We have a 1 year old so obviously that is not cool. Also it took a few hours longer than they estimated. Given that they are paid by the hour they didn't have any incentive to hustle.

While the movers themselves were very nice and the company responsive when I called to complain, the overall experience was not good. Most of my boxes wound up in my garage vs the room that they were labeled for, and many other boxes that did make it into the house, wound up in the wrong rooms. My specific instructions were 'when in doubt put it in the garage' HOWEVER I really don't think that there is any doubt where my blender, bowls and lots of other obvious kitchen items belonged as well as numerous boxes clearly labeled for rooms in the house. I do give the company credit for sending out two movers to relocate boxes when I called to complain about this having happened. Also, when I went back to my old house the morning of the closing, the movers had left A LOT of stuff behind which I quickly had to try to shove in my car - stuff like tools, weights from the weight set, planters, the microwave - things that weren't small so I'm not sure how they were missed. And finally, as I've unpacked boxes, I wouldn't call the packing job that was done great or even good. Most things appeared to have been - literally - just randomly thrown in boxes willy-nilly. So, my advice is that if you are going to go with 6th Man Movers that you: 1. pack and label everything yourself 2. Make sure that you closely supervise as things are brought in so that they wind up where you want them as labeling is not sufficient, and 3. Make sure that you are clear on what stays and what goes...and then check for yourself.

They arrived on time. That's was the only thing good about this crew. The crew was young, unprofessional and not equipped to handle a full house move. The company came to our house inventoried our items and determined 2 trucks and 4 men would be required for our move. On moving day, they decided the second truck was not needed and sent it along with the driver on to another job. We were charged for the full day flat rate for 2 trucks and 4 men. We asked for a refund for the services we did not received but they refused. The crew was in a hurry and scratched/dented many items. They also completely broke an expensive curio cabinet. We specifically told them how to move it and they refused to listen. This curio cabinet had been shipped from Turkey, to Germany , then to USA with not even a scratch. They moved it 6 miles and completely broke it. They refused any refund or credit. I have moved many times and this was the absolute worse group ever. Very bad experience! I would NOT recommend.

The team Maurice, James and John were awesome! Can't say enough good things. Polite, friendly, fast, STRONG, professional and efficient. Great communication confirmed day prior to move, called when they were on their way to our home. I would call and request this specific team. It rained for a while but they pulled the truck right up to the garage. No problems. Nothing was broken, no scratches. The move itself went much smoother than I had anticipated. A+++++ rating! BEST MOVERS EVER!

From start to finish they were fantastic! I expected the movers to be a bunch of older, overweight men with back braces but was pleasantly surprised to get 4 young guys that moved quickly and efficiently. Four young guys that were so polite and engaging that it was unbelievable. You could tell from the very beginning that they knew exactly what they were doing. My dad and I planned on helping but they were so good that we just felt we would be in their way. Not only did I shake each and every one of their hands and thank them but the owner Jacob sincerely apologized for being 20 minutes late and seemed genuinely upset that they were late. I have since recommended them to ANYONE that tells me they are moving. These guys will be well worth it and help make something (moving) that is ALWAYS unpleasant seem like it's not too bad. Call them today!

Called these guys because the movers that ABF recommend have a really high minimum for just 2 guys. Sixth Man quoted me much less for 3 guys with a 2hr minimum. They had many good reviews here, so I went for it. They called about 30 min before showing up and actually beat me to the residence. All 3 guys were very polite and respectful the whole time. Great attitudes and fast working. They unpacked all 4 cubes in 2.5 hours and placed things wherever I asked. My only regret is not keeping them for longer to help me unpack and setup a few key things, and they would have if I had known to do so.

They were efficient and friendly. Will definitely use them again!
