One of the problems was that the furniture doesnt come assembled, so it was in a box when we picked them up. The floor models looked perfect, but when we got the furniture home and assembled them, one of the pieces had a very large gash in the wood. We contacted the manager of the store and explained what the problem was. He was extremely rude, unhelpful, and told us the only way they would do anything about it is if we brought it to them. Unfortunatley my husband is away and I am unable to lift the furniture myself, and I dont have a large enough vehicle to take it to them. They wanted to charge me a $60 delivery fee to pick up the furniture and bring me a new one, which I felt was very unfair since they are in our area. He said it "wasnt worth their gas money" to stand behind their product. The only compromise they would make was to charge $40 for the exchange. I asked if they would assemble the furniture for me, and they said they wouldnt do it in my home, and would do it in their warehouse if it "got me off his back". I reluctantly agreed to the extra charge. When the delivery man arrived with the replacement, the tile on the table was scratched. I asked about the damage and the delivery man, who was nice, informed me the issue would have to go through the manager. I took the delivery and decided I will wait for my husband to get back since I didnt want to deal with the manager any longer.

It was a faulty piece, so we ended up having to get a brand new piece. The sales person was wonderful, and the delivery guys were great, but they broke the chair against a concrete wall. There was some miscommunication, they went back saying that they needed a new one, and I kept coming in and asking why someone hadn’t called me about repairing it. Their communication was bad, but once the confusion was straightened out, I got a brand new love seat.

Positives - I do like my furniture, the price was good, and my delivery guy was great. Service after the sale totally soured me on the whole experience.
Description of Work: The sales person was nice enough, but heaven help you if you have any kind of a customer service issue after delivery. One of the chairs had been put together backwards and the delivery guys took it back to the warehouse. I told them I could not afford to take another day off work for them to redeliver the chair and asked if I could pick it up. They said to call sales first and they would have the warehouse staff bring it to the front of the warehouse so I would not have to wait. We called sales just as we had been asked. When we got there, the warehouse staff said no one had told them anything and told us we would have to go see the store manager. The store manager said they had faxed over the paperwork earlier and sent us BACK to the warehouse where we continued to wait again. It took us more than an hour to pick up the chair when it had been their mistake all along. The store manager apparently does not have authority over the warehouse staff because the warehouse was not in the slightest bit apologetic about the delay, the mix up or the incorrect assembly of the chair in the first place.

Purchased bedroom furniture from Knoxville Wholesale Furniture and had it delivered on June 2, 2010. When the delivery people finished setting up the bed, they shoved it to the wall. When they left I noticed something wrong with the berber carpet I had purchased and installed the previous week. A nail was on the bottom of the leg of the foot board leg and it had snagged the carpet and tore the carpet fiber loose from the backing. I immediately called the carpet company and asked what could be done for me. The owner stated the only was to repair the rip was to cut out the damaged piece and glue another one in. She also stated that this repair could not be guaranteed and the possibility existed that the repair could fail based on the fact that it was a berber carpet and much more difficult to repair. I then called Knoxville Wholesale Furniture and talked to the sales manager. He told me that they would have the carpet repaired even though the repair could not be guaranteed. I purchased this particular carpet because it came in a 15 ft. width and would not have to be seamed. This carpet has a 1 yr warranty on it but the warranty would not apply to the patch. If my carpet were 2 or 3 years old a patch would be acceptable, but the carpet was only a week old. I feel I am due more consideration that just a patch job. On two separate occasions when I told the sales manager that his delivery people caused the problem he stated. " I am not sure that's how it happened." In other words, I might be lying. When I asked him how it would have been damaged otherwise, he said maybe my husband pushed the bed against the wall. I paid this company to deliver and set up the furniture and signed that they did set up and put the furniture in place. Also, while inspecting the carpet I notice scratches on the foot board leg and a chip out of the wood. I asked to speak to the owner but was told he was not there and that they could not provide me with a schedule as to when he would be in the store besides the owner does not meet with customers regarding their complaints. I asked for a refund of my delivery charges and a letter stating that if any repairs to the carpet failed within the next year they would be responsible for any future repairs. I was told by the manager that he would have to speak with the owner and he would let me know if they would do that. Am still waiting for resolution. Will never do business with this company again.

After we ordered our furniture, it came in, but they sold it to someone else. They ordered it again for us, and the same thing happed, so we decided to cancel the order. They didn't give us our deposit back, which was $100.00. Overall, it was a terrible experience. They misrepresented the materials as well.
