Vanderbilt Rheumatology........

I found Dr. Gore and Vanderbilt Rheumatology on Angie's List. I had contacted his office prior to moving to Tennessee as I wanted to be sure to have my next appointment scheduled and all my records sent. The receptionist was awesome. She was very encouraging, gave me detailed information about the practice and getting registered, and she worked with my previous doctor's office to get my referral and records submitted. Upon moving, I received a packet of information; some documents to complete and bring with me to my appointment, and some documents for my own review. I especially appreciated the photos and bio of Dr. Gore and his PA, as well as detailed directions to get to the office. Upon arrival to my appointment, the receptionist was wonderful. She got me checked in, went over everthing I needed to know about getting my labs done to signing up for the patient portal. She also introduced me to my nurse, Tymna. Tymna took me back for blood pressure, temperature, etc. and I can't say enough wonderful things about her. She was enthusiastic, engaging, and provided me with a lot of great information about the practice and what to expect. Love, love, love her! I only had to wait a short period of time for Dr. Gore to step in. I found him to be engaging as well and very knowledgeable. He was very detailed in the questions he asked and shared quite a bit of information with me about his approach to RA. I did not feel like he was rushing me out the door or treating me like I was in an assembly line. He set up labs and xrays for me and explained the patient portal as well as when to expect my test results back. I was able to access my test results via the patient portal and in less than a week, I received a message from Dr. Gore through the portal, explaining my test results and next steps.
I was very pleased with how organized and knowledgeable everyone was and how friendly and engaging they were. I didn't relish the thought of having to find a new doctor but I'm very happy with Dr. Gore and Vanderbilt Rheumatology. I will absolutely continue to use them.

Dr. Douglas has always been very thorough in explaining things, and listens to me and answers all my questions. He takes as much time as necessary and doesn't rush through the appointment. More important, he doesn't try to push medications on me. I trust him.

He is real sweet and understanding.  He is patient and listens to me.

Dr.Steigefest is the absolute best!  He pulled me out of a very bad arthritic episode when nobody else could figure out what was wrong.  I went from barely able to move to getting out of a chair with no assistance in a few hours!  Seems to truly remember you with each visit - I don't feel like part of the "cattle call".  He is the kindest and most compassionate physician that I have dealt with in many years and I would highly recommend him.  So kind and gentle and really listens to your issues and has excellent real-life suggestions.  Office staff is the best!

I am very pleased with him. He is very thorough and understanding. He is an excellent doctor. I will continue to see him.
