Benjamin Franklin Plumbing

Probably the most professional plumbing company I've dealt with. My tech was very knowledgeable and could answer all my questions about the repairs and other plumbing matters in the house. Work was done quickly and quietly. Tech also left the under-sink area cleaner than it was when he got there! The problem was the $800 bill, which I'm thinking is one-third higher than average. I probably won't call them back because of the cost. That said, they were very upfront about costs....giving me a flat rate for each task and not screwing with me on hourly charges. If money is no worry for you, these are your guys.

This company seems to be very thorough and perform a high-quality service. The result of the review was that I needed a lot of work done.

The plumber arrived at the exact time and went straight to the bathroom to begin working. He began working feverishly on tuning up the toilet, and even when he ran into some difficulties (because it's an extremely cheap, deteriorating toilet), he continued working above and beyond expectations to get the toilet working better than before he arrived. He was extremely friendly and courteous. He did try to upsell us on their "service club".

The whole process went well. In addition to repairing, they offered solutions and options for future consideration. I found them professional and knowledgeable. They also weren't pushy.

Pointed out several plumbing issues that needed to be addressed including finding a bad element in our water heater for our dishwasher and washing machine.

He was timely, informative and personable.

It went great start to finish. Henry was very polite and knowledgeable. Would definitely ask for Henry again.

Their estimate was twice the price of others received and we felt pressured by them to have them do the work. Our problem was an environmental hazard, according to them. We had a leak in our basement and absolutely wanted it fixed, environmental hazard or not! And, they insinuated they would have to report us if we didn't let them fix it. We got it fixed by another company which was much more pleasant to deal with, non-threatening and no bullying, and, even better, cheaper! Benjamin Franklin may do great work but they need to work on their bedside manner and their prices. UPDATE--I am changing my overall impression of this company from F to A. Benjamin Franklin Plumbing refunded our money for the estimate. And, even brought us lunch! At my office, free food goes a long way! Just joking. The manager, Brad, has bent over backwards to address my issues and to insure we will give his company a try again in the future. Their customer service has been great and we are very appreciative. We do business with a lot of businesses and have never dealt with anyone more responsive to our needs. We will call Benjamin Franklin for any of our plumbing needs in the future.

The work done by Benjamin Franklin Plumbing was just the bare minimum as per the coupon and that is all that I asked them to do. They quoted me for a couple of other jobs which I thought was pricey. He was very nice.

He did a very good job and was even able to complete some simple jobs at no additional cost. He was very professional. He showed up on time when scheduled. He even covered his shoes before he came in so he would not dirty our carpet. I would definitely use him again.

I chose this company based on Angie's list reviews and was not disappointed. I received emails and phone calls telling me when and who would be coming to the house. Tyler arrived right on time & was very professional. After going over what was needed and what would be done as well as showing me the buildup in my current water heater (which was 12 years old), he called Erik who came to the house & was able to explain the pros & cons of water heaters and explained exactly what was going to be done. They did not push me either way on the chose of water heaters. On items I had a choice of replacing or rebuilding they did not push me toward replacing. They worked with me and created a package where I was able to have everything I needed done. I was very pleased with the work plus the fact that they will call me in the coming week to follow up on the word done. I will use them again.

They were absolutely horrible. I have been willing to get on your web site and put a review. I have been just so busy; I work full time, as I am a full time mom. I actually ended up not using them. They came out because I wanted them to come out and first of all tell me what was wrong with my water heater. The guy was in my house for not even 5 minutes and first of all tried to sell me a whole house water filtration system, a purification system. I told him look all I need is hot water in my house. I told him I do not have time for all this. So then he said okay let me go check on your water heater. He goes up and he did not touch one thing and straight up told me I needed a whole new water heater. He quoted me something like $2000. It was something like ridiculous. I asked him how do you know that I needed a water heater if you did not even touch it. He said that well in order to find out what is wrong with that I am going to have to cut this copper line, which is going to cost you $500 anyway. He was trying to scam me that bad. I was like, so if you cut this line and I still needed a water heater, I am still going to have to pay the $500 for him to go and diagnose it, and then the price of a whole new water heater. I told him this makes absolutely no sense. This guy was up straight and I was just like get out of my house. My kitchen seep needed repair and I asked him how much would you take to fix that. He said that it would be $275; and literally I looked it up on YouTube and I went and bought the parts, I could do it myself in like 15 minutes. I would literally never recommend them, never use them or anything.

Greg was the plumber sent to our home. His uniform was very clean and well maintained. This i expect to see in the military, i was relieved to see it in a service professional who was going to be walking in my home. He was very knowledgeable of his craft and told me everything he was doing, or going to do before he did it. unfortunately i needed more work done by tile guys and his referrals where rock solid.

Benjamin Franklin was great from start to finish, and that means from the lady who first answered my call, to the actual pro who did the work, to the lady who later followed up, just as a courtesy. I wish I had more time to write, but I can only say that I am very pleased with the work, the attitude, and the professionalism. Daniel, the plumber, was extremely knowledgeable, explained everything, and even recalled the fact that I had a coupon for a discount. Basically, I will use Benjamin Franklin again, and it will be because he did such a fine job. Yep, they were on time, covered shoes as he walked around, offered appropriate discounts, and even gave me different price options on the odd situation with the washer tie-in. But just that a professional can come in and make me feel comfortable made the difference. I usually dread plumbers, thinking they're padding their bill, but he worked directly off their pricing chart, and I felt great the whole way through. I will be using them again, and highly recommend these Franklin folks.

Quickly cleaned out drain and showed me where problem had been. Cleaned up after himself and we discussed cost of garbage disposal if replaced.

The customer service and quick scheduling was excellent but the actual plumber that showed I was not impressed. I mentioned I had alot of noise in my pipes like a high humming sound. I thought it was due to high pressure but I checked the pressure and it was normal. After he inspected the entire house he said he would quote me on trying to find the PRV valve since he could not find it. I'm pretty sure the house did not have one when I bought it. He insisted that it was underground in the front yard. He came back with something like $500 to dig up my front yard to look for it ... REALLY? I wound up going to Lowes and installing a PRV myself which cost me $25. I would not recommend. ***UPDATE*** Sales manager called me to fix the situation. He sent out an experienced plumber the next morning. He identified the valve issue that is on the metro water end of the fence. He even talked to them over the phone for me. I appreciate their willingness to come out and help. Will use again. Thanks

I called them on a Saturday and they said they would be able to have someone out that afternoon, they called about 30 minutes prior to plumbers arrival and let me know he was on his way. He arrived and was very polite, looked at the toilet in question. I explained I had seen a small amount of water coming from around the base, at the time he was here there was no water present. After looking at it, he came out and said there wasn't any water currently leaking but he could see water under the toilet and he believed it was the seal between the toilet and floor. I already figured that was the issue but wasn't really up to replacing it myself(completed myself a couple times at different homes over the years) figuring it would be worth paying a professional to do it for $100 or so. I let him continue with his explanation, he pulled out his tiered "menu of services" and and started talking about their lifetime(I think) warranty but was pointing to a tier with a $319 price point, I thought for sure he must be trying to up-sell me to buying a special program that would cover all toilets and leaks or something considering the job he just told me I needed would take about $10 in parts(wax ring/seal and floor bolts) and maybe 30 minutes of labor, maybe throw in another $10 in parts since he was automatically including the replacement of the braided hose from wall to toilet. I explained the lifetime warranty was not of interest to me as he may have noticed the for sale sign in our yard and wouldn't be taking advantage of the lifetime warranty. He then stated it was included in the price, at this point I was in shock that he really was telling me it was going to be $319 to replace the wax ring. I told him I had a hard time believing that was his price, I then told him if I had known it would be over $300 I would have done it myself, he responded by telling me "yeah, but I can do it faster", he could see I was really struggling with the quote, he then asked if I had a coupon, I told him I had been keeping one around for months but considering the house was only 3 years old and we hadn't had any problems I threw it away, he told me he would help me out and took $25 off the price, now we were at $294 before tax.... we were still so far apart on price at this point but he was in my house ready to do it so I reluctantly agreed to let him complete the job. On the positive side, he did do it much faster than I would have, he was in there 20 minutes max. Bottom-line, they completed the job quickly and effectively but if I could get people to pay me to replace wax rings on toilets for $300+ per job I'd get real quick and effective at it as well! Our house now has a contract on it and the inspection uncovered a few minor plumbing items but I can assure you I will not be calling Ben Franklin as I would like to try to hold on to as many of my ben franklins as possible.

They seemed more out for the money.

I've known for some time that our two tanked water heaters needed to go. For over a year, I researched the options and talked to (only highly rated!) plumbing companies about tanked systems vs tankless, in terms of price, efficiency, cost, and guarantees. In the end, it was obvious that BENJAMIN FRANKLIN PLUMBING was the only way to move forward. These guys know everything about the available systems, offer better-than-competitive pricing, show up promptly every time, and leave things neat and clean. They offer impressive guarantees and promptly return your phone calls. They really care about your satisfaction. Ultimately, I opted for an energy efficient tankless water heater. Its safer, greener. more cost-effective, and offers a great tax credit (and who couldn't use a juicy tax credit these days?). From my own experience, I highly recommend BEN FRANKLIN, and I look forward to working with them in the future. If I were you, I'd give them a call.

Our garbage disposal was not properly draining, causing our sink to entirely back up. After ensuring the disposal itself was fine - still running, not clogged - we put a call into Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. Got an appointment for the following morning which was my preference. Called about 20m away to let us know to expect them on the day of the appointment. Don't remember the gentleman's name who came out but he was very professional, diagnosed the problem quickly, and fixed the issue. Also provided us some quick tips to help prevent future issues. Would highly recommend.

Extremely responsive. I scheduled the appointment without any problem and the plumber showed up on time. They did the work efficiently and I was satisfied. He did push their maintenance contract and a new water heater pretty heavily. I purchased the maintenance contract and am hoping it will pay off in the end.

They came on time and gave us estimate of cost of services. They did try to offer us some type of contract service where you can get a discount for future services, but it required a monthly payment, which we were not willing to do. They weren't too pushy about it though.

It was great. Came when they said, was very professional, did not leave a mess. I would use them again and would recommend them to people.
