We gave Terinelli a poor review and of course it was not well recieved. There is absolutely no doubt that we were justified. We just had to remove the wall behind the shower because of a leak from poor plumbing. As a result, we had mold and had to pay a company for mold removal / remediation. Around $1000 in repairs. Initially, we gave them a bad review for several reasons: They had to tear out the tile because itcwas so poorly done. If we had not called them on it, they would just left it the way it was. They did not stick to the schedule. They dumped debris into the vent in the floor. We found that out when the mold company came. They never completed the deep cleaning as an apology for all of their mishaps. The list just goes on and on. If I could, I would upload the pictures of the damage from the leak. If you do hire this company, I would definitely inspect their work before payment.
Description of Work: They installed a tile shower.

We had our kitchen floor replaced in April 2023 and while pleased with the floor itself, their attention to detail was terrible such as black trim was removed and it was replaced by white trim, see photo. We had to have a heated discussion with Daniel, the owner, who was very unprofessional. He reluctantly agreed to replace the white trim. The other major problem was the three transition pieces to existing floors, see photos. Two pieces were replaced as part of punch list. It took until July for punch list items to finally be repaired and the retainage was paid. Within weeks, the third transition piece failed because of the gaps left under the trim. It has been 3 weeks since the company was notified and nothing has been done. The construction is supposed to by guaranteed for one year; however attempts to have this repaired have gone unanswered. We would definitely NOT use them again.

Very professional, courteous, and took care to do the job right. We had them paint the walls only, and he (Tevin) did not get paint on the trim or ceilings and took the time to sand out drips left from the last time it was painted. We have some walls that are 17' and he did a great job. We are planning to have more painting done in the near future and will definitely use Tarinelli and request Tevin!

DO NOT USE Daniel Tarinelli of Tarinelli Transitions LLC, located in Murrell’s Inlet, SC. He terminated our contract over the phone today. He was behind on his jobs and wanted to pull our installers off our job so he could look good to the three jobs he is supposed to start next week (he has a work board with people’s names on it in his office). He called us this morning (Thursday) and wanted to move the completion of our job to the end of the next week. The plan/discussion before contract agreement was our installer/s would complete job fully before they moved from our project to another one. On the call Daniel said he wanted to “work together” to find something that worked and suggested our installers would be moved off our job until next week. Daniel wanted his installers to start on our bedroom this morning (no advance notice) and the installers still had tile to complete in two other rooms, which would make our home unusable for sleep and our pets. We looked at how we could rearrange our schedule, and the schedule of 4 other subcontractors to make a reasonable schedule and to make this work. I wrote up a possible plan so that we were all looking at the same information and to fulfill his earlier “ask” for help. I gave his office a follow-up call and got his secretary. She said he was “out” and would not give me his cell number, which I thought was odd. Then she said, “why are you telling us how to schedule people and how to do our job?” I said “that is not the point of the email; I was asked to offer suggestions. I will not discuss this with you and I’ll wait for him to call me.” He told his installers he sent a response email to us (lie). When we checked and did not have a response, I left a phone message for him to call me back before 2 pm. I let him know my note in no way was to tell him how to do his job or what to schedule; it was only to fulfill his request for us to work together to find a solution. I let him know his secretary must have read it first and seemed offended (she was actually rude). Daniel was not willing to work together towards a solution; instead, he was belligerent on the phone and told me he’d have to “charge us $500 for each layer of sealant put on our floor” and said that the contract was for only one topcoat (another lie). His contract says the following: “Topcoat sealer as recommended is included after install is complete – topcoat provided by homeowner (it was).” He was unwilling to work together to come to a reasonable solution that worked for everyone, said he would not finish the job, and cancelled the contract. He sent his installers back from lunch to pick up their supplies. His installers apologized for “the situation” (bad owner; reneging on signed contract; incomplete job). My husband who has had two back surgeries, torn bicep, and ruptured quadricep is on his hands and knees in the two rooms that were left with wet, unfinished grout. We told the installers that no customer should ever be treated as we were treated by Daniel Tarinelli and they should never let anyone treat them poorly. They were great workers and good human beings. You will regret it if you hire this man.

Response from Tarinelli Transitions
Hi ******, We are very disappointed things didn't work out the way you would of wanted. We always strive for 100% customer satisfaction. Due to the tile delay that was purchased by yourself our schedule had to be rearranged to accommodate your desire to finish the job on your timeline and we were able to do this the first time around and were happy to do it. Due to the extra coats of [Member Information Removed] sealer that was requested it cause the timeline of the job to be pushed back even further. It was discussed prior to the job starting that the tiles were purchased already pre sealed and it was discussed that we would apply only one coat of [Member Information Removed] sealer. When it came to our attention that you would not accept the one coat of [Member Information Removed] sealer as discussed and did not want to pay extra for the added labor to do so as well as the refusal to wait 3 days for us to continue the project we decided that voiding the last payment due to Tarinelli Transitions which totaled 50% of the total project would be the best thing to do. When we left the job site there was an estimated 20% of the job left. We apologize for the inconvenience as we know home improvement projects can be stressful. We wish you the best of luck and patience in your next home improvement project.

From the get go, Daniel and his team always showed up on time, did what we agreed was to be done, and throughout it all communicated frequently with photos, texts, and emails. Since this was a second home 800 miles away from us, this communication was particularly helpful. The work done was done well. I would recommend them.
