The quoting process was very difficult. We had a hard time getting on the same page in terms of design and overall vision for what the space was supposed to look like even though the other contractors we had quote the job had no problems in this way. Originally the project was supposed to be a hand dig, but Jimmy decided to rent an excavator to shorten the job without increasing the price of the quote. Once the job started everything seemed to be going well. Around the third day Jimmy came to us and said that the excavation was taking longer than expected and that he needed more money to rent his excavator for another day to keep him from having to hand dig and extend the project by a week or so. Later in the installation we had some problems with the other workers he had hired to help him not wanting to listen to the way the way I wanted the walls built. I did not like that he does not always use the same workers on his jobs so you are never sure what you are going to get with him. The real problems were after the job was over. During the placement of one of the foundation stones for one of the walls a sprinkler line had gotten cracked. It was obvious that Jimmy did not really want to come back and do warranty work based on his grouchy mood, even though I had already taken the wall apart and fixed the line (4 hours of work) he broke just trying to make sure that the damage was caused by him and not either by me or by normal wear and tear. All he needed to do was re build the wall I had already taken down (about 10-20 stones) instead of tearing down and fixing the sprinkler and then re building. Then when I asked him if he would cut a few pieces of stone for me, which I had already measured and marked, he said he would charge me $30 to make the cut and said he was insulted that I would ask him to use his expertise for free, even though I had done work that he should have done. He got angry at me and really started to give me an attitude and I asked him to leave. I had noticed traces of this attitude during the project but never expected him to blow up like he did. I will never hire him again and I am very disappointed with his level of professionalism and customer service.
