Jason was on time. They took care to remove anything that might get damaged. While only contracted for the house and attached garage, they also did the shed and the mold-covered patio & stairs without any extra charge. Everything came out great. It took the crew of two about 2 1/2 hours to complete. Given that I have a lot of northern exposure and shade which encourages the mold, I plan on using JJJ on a regular basis. It should be noted that the price was reduced due to a special on Angie's List and is normally a little under $200. = still well worth it.

They were very professional, and did a great job!

It began with Jason and Bill arriving right on time. They got right to work painting my bedroom and master bath. The job they did was excellent, and I was so pleased with their work I hired them back for another small project. They cleaned up everything afterwards, even moved the heavy furniture back into place. I would recommend JJJ Painting for anyone needing interior painting done.

They came for the estimate and seemed nice and professional. I never received the estimate from them, they never got back to me. I guess they did not want my business nor my recommendation. I used another company and will use that company again in the future which will involve several rooms this year due to renovations that are being done to my house.

From start to finish the crew did a great job.

I was very glad to get the work done before the winter. The owner worked with my time line because I needed to have some repairs completed before they could paint. The crew showed up on time and worked the entire day. They were very polite and professional. The house looks great. I would recommend JJJ Painting & Consturction to my neighbors and family.

The house looks great, I thought the quote was reasonable, and they stayed within budget. They started and completed the work within the time frame estimated (allowing a few extra days for rain, which of course isn't within their control). They kept the area around my house very neat and were polite and professional in their interactions with me. Jay communicated with me frequently to give me updates and to check whether I was happy with how things were going, which I appreciated.

The project was estimated the first week in April, work did not begin until July and was not completed until the last week in August. Overall the crews were here approximately 10 days during the work period of two months. There were a number of reasons for the delay, including finding additional information for us and crummy weather (it was a wet season) so we were understanding about this. Our big complaint was that there was very little or poor communication. Emails and phone calls to the office went unreturned and unanswered. Twice we were told they would begin work "on Monday or Tuesday" would work from home both mornings to able to make sure everyone was on the same page and the crew didn't show up. While the work was ongoing communication was somewhat better--although we were told we would receive photos of options of railing systems and came home one day to one simply installed (luckily we liked it). The finished quality of the shingle replacement was very good but there was a mild dispute over the contract language in regards to the scope of work. The gutter installation was done beautifully and handled very professionally. The company that was subcontracted to do the painting did not do as strong of a job--they broke a storm window, attempted to deceive us on a repair that we had requested, touched up a spot they over painted with a sharpie (while we were watching) and failed to rehang our door knockers. When notified, Jay handled these situations. Overall we are content with the work but finished the process feeling frustrated because of the lack of communication and the need to continually check up to ensure that our project was being completed properly. On a positive note, all of the individuals who worked on our home were pleasant and tidy. They did their best to minimize interference with our lives and asked questions when they were uncertain.

I found Jay and his team on Angie's List and asked him to give me a quote on painting two large rooms in one of the apartments I own. His quote was by far the lowest and he was prepared to get to the job immediately. I have used other painters in the past, but was never quite satisfied with the result. Jay's team showed up when he said they would and completed the job quickly. The rooms looked fantastic after they were done. There was no mess, no missed spots and Jay kept in constant contact with me to make sure I was satisfied with the job. I would recommend him and his crew to anyone without reservation.

This is the second job I had Jay do for me. I needed a basement painted and asked him to provide me with a price. He arrived at my home on time and provided me with a detailed quote. His job was not going to be easy either. The person who had finished the basement had not a good job of making sure the new walls were smooth and the space where the wall connected to the ceiling was not straight. Jay was concerned that his paint job would highlight the flaws in the construction. Indeed, he and his team spent an entire day sanding the walls. After they finished, however, the basement looked spectacular - better, in fact, than I could have imagined. I would (and have) recommended Jay and his team to anyone who has a painting project.

Contractor was incredibly responsive. After sending an email from angieslist.com, they contacted me immediately and came by to give me a price within a couple of days and were right on time. Friendly and professional. I received a quote via email within two days. The price was a bit higher than my other quote which is why I didn't use them. I would definitely recommend this contractor to a friend.

The workers did a pretty good job of not creating too much slop and staying in the lines (cut-in work). Better than much of what I see elsewhere. Thus, no major complaints there. They were also very responsive to "fix this" and "do that" requests for touching up details. I would, however, like to see more things like removal of doorknob plates before painting doors. I prepped the front door myself so that the plate didn't get painted on like the back doors (it also needed some sanding to remove the old plate marks that were otherwise visible). I would also like to see more prep work before painting. They did some sanding and scraping but not nearly enough in my opinion. According to my wife, they could have gotten a lot more done if they didn't sit around so much when the boss was absent. I would also like to see more repair work such as pushing boards back into place and securing loose ones. I'm not sure if painters should repair window glazing or not but these ones told me the glazing was severely rotted out and then proceeded to paint over the rotted glazing (which really is fairly disintegrated). Okay, whatever. This was all more or less okay because I took care of many of the little things they didn't. The bigger frustrations came later. The house is sided in birch flooring mounted vertically. The grooves between the boards were painted with a brush and then the rest was rolled. The brush work actually covered about 70% of the surfaces so I don't know why they didn't just brush it all. Anyhow, with only one coat rolled on after the brushwork it was obvious in certain light which areas were brushed and which were rolled. The thicker coat simply stood out from the thinner coat in a funny way. I asked the boss about it but he didn't really want to hear it. I told him they were rolling on only one coat and that I felt it needed a second coat at least. He asked the workers and one claimed they applied two coats while the other claimed only one coat. That was good enough for the boss and he proceeded to try to ignore the issue again. Finally, at final walkthrough, I had the boss look at it again and asked what he suggested doing about it. To his credit, he acknowledged the problem and declared that they would have to come back another day to paint the house again. The boss insisted that it was due to "flashing" because he had decided to use Sherwin-Williams paint on this job instead of his preferred brand of Benjamin Moore. Whatever. I know what flashing is and this wasn't it. I wasn't going to argue that detail though as long as the job got done. Anyhow, the job was done. It looks good. There remain a few details I'm not thrilled about but am mostly okay with it. (Well, the lack of better sanding still bugs me.) What I can't decide is whether or not I would hire JJJ again. If they hadn't done much of the work on a Saturday, I wouldn't have been around to manage it better and it would have ended badly. Even though the work was pretty good in the end, I need someone I can trust to be honest up front and to make sure the job gets done well in my absence. The boss, as I understand it, is not normally absent from the job site this much so perhaps things would have gone better had his family emergencies not distracted him. Still, he should know better than to blame the first fail on flashing and Sherwin-Williams. The blame should go to thick brushing versus thin rolling and not enough coats. JJJ may deserve a second chance versus some of the other lousy work I see around.

My neighbor was getting the exterior of their home painted by JJJ. They did an amazing job on the house so I called Jay for an estimate. He was on time and very polite and professional. He told me he would get back to me the next day with a price. He called me the next day with a price that I thought was fair. His employees were very polite and professional as well. I was actually quite impressed with how polite they were. They worked on my house as if it were their own. They did a great job prepping the house, power washing and scrapping. The left side of my house was in desperate need of paint. They had to paint over it 3 times. They didn't have to do it, but again they treated my house as if it were their own. The trim is a dark brown color, which would show any mistakes very easily. They did a perfect job with painting the trim...no mistakes! The paint job they did was amazing! The house looks new. I was so impressed with them that I referred JJJ to my mother (her deck) and brother (exterior home painting). I will definitely use this company in the future and utilize other services they offer.

We were very pleased with our overall experience. Jason and his crew arrived in a timely fashion and got right to work. They worked at an excellent rate of speed and were very neat. We were also pleased with Jason's ability to communicate, along with Bethany, from meeting us on a Saturday to give us a quote to arranging for the date and then confirming weeks later. His fair pricing and use of quality paint products also pleased us. We would definitely hire him again and recommend his services.

Jason is a really nice guy and took pride in his work. The first day of the job he was here with a painter whom he was training and I noticed he was very particular about how he wanted the job done and made sure that his team member did the job properly. I'm sort of anal about details and was glad to see that Jason was as well (in a god way, not a neurotic way); that's what you want in a painter; someone who sees the details. The porch came out beautifully and they did a great job cleaning up (a rarity). Also, because of the humidity they had to come back for a part of a second day and Jason managed to fit this in at the last minute, despite an already busy schedule. I didn't get other quotes, so I can't really speak to how competitive the price was, but, since it took almost two days by the end of the job, I feel like it was competitive. Plus, I'd rather have the job done well and right than pay a few bucks less and not be happy with the final product. Would definitely recommend them and use them again.

Very prompt in returning phone calls, scheduling date to do estimate. Very professional, felt if I had chosen them they would have done a good job. Did not choose them for job due to their estimate was about 20% higher than company I chose (I was happy with work company I chose delivered). I woudl consider contacting and using JJJ's services in the future.

He told me when he would come and what time he would be at the house and he was very prompt.We were very pleased with the outcome. The house is sparking white and it looks almost like new. He even took greaat care so that he didn't damage my rose bush near the house.I would recommend his services to anyone who is looking to have their house washed.

He was the most responsive. He was really good. He gave me the estimate within a week of him coming out. He mailed me a thank you note for letting him come by. He went around the house, pointed out things, and gave me suggestions of what could be done. I think the price is very good. I will probably use him for the job; he is currently on top of the list because of what he can do.

I arranged for a free estimate with this company and never received a quote. I was told I would receive one via email in a couple of days. It's been 2 weeks and I even called and followed-up. I was reassured that I would receive a quote in a couple of days, but it has yet to surface. Very disappointing response time.

They did an excellent job, very neat & courteous crew of guys. We would use them again no question. This was the second time we used them. The first time was when we lived in Cumberland & they painted some wooden doors we had replaced. They did such a good job that when we moved to Taunton, MA we asked Jason if he would come to Taunton to paint some rooms. He said no problem & came with a crew of 3 guys to do the job. Very professional & just a great overall experience.
