I was quoted a price that was half of what another company quoted. Steven came in with a plasterer and repaired water damage to my ceiling in less than 3 hours. They did a beautiful job and cleaned up afterward. Would highly recommend.

When my parents died, I had to sell their 1840s Victorian on the East side. Some plaster had fallen from a ceiling, along with five feet of decorative plaster molding where the ceiling met the wall. I needed to get that repaired before I could put the house on the market. I sent photos around, but every plasterer in town was afraid to take the job. Steve and his crew (Charlie and Paul) accepted the challenge and did a great job of repairing the hole and duplicating the molding. They worked around my schedule and got the job finished exactly when they said they would. Steve matched the paint to the ceiling and the repair blends in so well with the rest of the room, you'd never know anything had happened. They went beyond, fixing a few other cracks in the room, and did a great job of cleaning up when they were done.

Communication was great and the job was completed on time and no surprise extra costs.

Steve was great. He fixed our ceiling that was botched by a previous contractor after removing 3 skylights. My only complaint is he was VERY expensive. $5,000 to redo our living room ceiling. This involved cutting out a large area of wallboard, cutting out some of the old skylight framing, installing furring strips, reinstalling wallboard, plastering, and painting. The end result was perfect though. He does great work.

I hired Steven to repair/paint my family room due to water damage this past winter following a burst pipe. Steven had to hang wallboard, install installation, plaster both the walls/ceilings, paint the entire room walls/ceilings. Steven and his men were responsive, professional, personable, and takes pride in his work. The work was completed on time and it looks great. Steven also had to repair/replace/stain moldings as well. I would definitely use Steve again and would highly recommend him as well.

Personable, Steve and Joe did great work. Good prep of our area and cleanup each day. Very professional and thorough in explanation of work and follow through. Asked questions and gave suggestions as the project was progressing. Would highly recommend Steve to others and would definitely hire again. Well done. Very professional.

This is a mixed review. Steve and Joe arrived on time and covered the floor to protect it. JOE did an awesome job repairing my ceiling in several places. He did a very good job matching the existing swirl pattern and answering all questions I had. Now, the reason I only gave Steve 3.5 stars is because of the lack of clean up. The description of work performed was *Swirl bad areas of the ceiling, cleanup*. If you say on the invoice you are going to clean up, and I pay for cleanup, then I should not have to go back and clean EVERYTHING after you leave! All walls and shelves around the repaired areas needed to be wiped down and plaster removed. The floors also needed to be vacuumed and mopped because of all the crap left behind when they picked up the floor covering. AND even the door, front porch, and side of the house where the hose is had plastered all over them! In conclusion, the plasterwork performed by Joe was great, but the cleanup, which I believe was Steves responsibility, was unacceptable. Because Steve was technically the *helper* on this job, it was his job to handle all the cleanup. He did not. UPDATE - After seeing this review Steve contacted me, apologized, and offered to refund some of my money for the lack of cleanup. I did not accept his offer because I believe the work was worth what I paid, but I appreciate the effort he made to make things right. Thanks, Steve!

He showed up on time and started right away on the project. He was very considerate of me and let me know step by step what was being done if I had questions.

Steven was very pleasant and professional. We were impressed with the way he protected our floors and left it very clean. The job that he did on our walls and ceiling was done quickly and impeccably. We will definitely call him again for future work that we already know we need done. Top notch.

I would recommend Mr. DeFreitas. He was prompt in contacting me, fair in his quote, and he did high quality work. He patched a larger than expected hole in my ceiling due to water damage. He made a stressful situation easy to deal with. He was contentious and polite. He showed up on time and was diligent about getting it right. I appreciated he spent the time putting on the finishing touches and cleaning up after the job. He was thorough in walking me through the project. Explaining what he was doing and why.

Steve and his crew did an outstanding job of installing 17 sheets of wallboard and custom plastering a ceiling! He was quick with his estimate and timely starting the job. He was on the job when he said he would be (which I find quite extraordinary for most small contractors) and stayed on the job all day, every day (9-5) until the job was finished and complete to my satisfaction. He is first, and ONLY contractor I've hired in the last 30 years who did not need to leave the job 3 to 4 times each day to go to Lowe's or Home Depot to get supplies he "forgot" or needed for the job! He obviously planned ahead, new what he would need and came fully prepared for the job. The jobsite was cleaned up each day and the jobsite was protected from damage, again a far cry from most other contractors who leave their mess for you to clean and do not demonstrate much care for your property. Steve far exceeded my expectations and I would recommend him without reservation. (my only minor complaint, and this may be characteristic of all plasterers is that a final sanding was not done of the taping application, but as I said, this may be characteristic of the profession, so I did not let this impact my rating)

Steve did a great detailed job repairing a plaster ceiling that suffered some water damage. He was very professional & transparent about the work required in addition to being reasonably priced. Would definitely hire him again!

Steven is an excellent contractor and a true professional. He was always on time and the work was absolutely top-notch. He did everything he said he would and always kept us in the loop, letting us know what was happening and when. Steven even went out of his way to do a little extra caulking for no additional cost. He hires out other tradesmen who are also exceptional and know their trades well. Steven and his workers were always polite and highly respectful. I'll hire Steven in a heartbeat if I need any more work done. A true gem in a sea of ersatz contractors!

Steve did an excellent job with drywall plaster repair, and textured ceiling repair - after I had major water damage in my home. He takes pride in his work, and it showed.
