We could not be happier. Mike and his employees went above and beyond to give us what we wanted. We had to reconfigure the job a couple of times because of issues that arose during construction. They always had suggestions and never balked at our ideas or requests for changes. They pay a lot of attention to detail - for example, we purchased a ironing board cabinet - where the ironing board folds up and behind a door when it's not in use - and the recessed it into the wall instead of just mounting it, which never occurred to me. They worked with us to solve a difficult situation with the dryer - well, it was difficult only because of my personal preferences - and they made it work. It's perfect. I can't recommend them highly enough and we'll be sure to call them again for the next project.
Description of Work: They built a bathroom and reconfigured and remodeled the laundry area in the basement. This involved tearing out walls around an existing "Pittsburgh toilet", some trenching to extend the drains, installing a shower and vanity, building out walls, moving the washer and dryer and laundry sink, which of course means electrical and plumbing work, and building new half height walls to surround the laundry area.

I contacted Mike at JessieCo at the recommendation of a friend. We were planning a large scale renovation of a house we were under agreement on. We had only one other quote at the time and we knew it was unwise to proceed without a second opinion. In addition, Mike had a much better reputation than the other contractor who had walked through. Mike was incredibly prompt and friendly on the walk through. He was the easiest to talk to of the contractors that we met (The total ended up being 4 in the end.) I found that he spoke to me as an equal instead of blowing off my ideas or using contractor lingo. We were in a very pinched time frame because the improvements we planned to do on the house were a part of the our loan approval from the bank, and we needed a clear estimate to close. I expressed this to Mike and he was amicable. When a week passed since his walk through with no word, I called to check in. When I met him in person at my home, I had expressed that we were on a condensed timeline and I had explained this before he came to the house as well, and he responded by saying he'd come out immediately. When I called, I thanked him for coming out, I told him it was very nice to meet him, asked if I had given him the information he needed and asked what date I could expect a quote, explaining that my loan officer was hoping wrap up the loan approval quickly. My experience was that he suddenly became very short with me, which was a harsh change from my initial meeting with him. He really let me know how he felt about clients rushing contractors and I began to feel I was on the receiving end of his frustration in general. I was quite confused since I'd called with a smile on my face, convinced he was the guy for the job after the walk through and my friend's positive reference. He told me that if I really needed an estimate 8 days after his walkthrough, he would have to give it with a large margin in his favor since he could not verify all the prices in this time frame. Oddly, a week previously, I had given him exact specifics for everything down to each light fixture and faucet so he needed only to calculate actual labor and building materials. Nonetheless, I said I certainly understood that if he did not have time, he'd have to bid high to cover potential losses and reassured him I did not mean to rush him in such a way. He alluded to me putting him in a bad position character wise by forcing him to bid high. Again, it was a strange experience in which I found myself apologizing for calling (to give him a 110K job). I also thanked him profusely for coming out to walk through the house. My loan officer actually wrote and apologized for any misunderstanding with the short timeline as well. He responded to my loan officer with a hastily handwritten estimate which did not include several of the items we discussed on the walk through or that were detailed in my follow up email, and did indeed end up being (by far) highest one we received. It had no line items and wasn't a clear bid so the bank could not accept it. I had the option to go back and ask for a typed estimate with line items that the bank could use, but I was actually afraid to do so after my previous request for the estimate. I went out of my way to apologize again if I'd made him uncomfortable (by politely asking, a single time, for a quote in 8-9 days instead of his usual 14) and he did not respond at all.
Description of Work: Visited my home and did a walk through, was supposed to offer estimate.

The experience was great. We have used this company in the past and as usual, the design and construction were great. Mike was very punctual and actually completed the job much quicker than we had originally discussed. We could not be happier. There are some design elements that are very nice and make it look less like a standard porch and more like something special. Would highly recommend them.
Description of Work: Designed and built a new front porch

Owner Mike Vento responded to me within a few hours of my request and provided me with a bid within a couple of days. Mr. Vento and his crew were very professional, polite and neat. I was always informed of the progress and what to expect through out the entire project. Mr. Vento has pride in doing a job right and not cutting corners and he absolutely suceeded with my project. I now have a beautiful 3 1/2 bay garage that I absolutely love! I plan on hiring Jessie and Co for a few more projects next year and I would highly recommend this contractor, they made everything a pleasant experience.
Description of Work: Jessie & Co built on an additional 1 1/2 bays onto my existing 2 car garage. They laid foundation removed old roof and replaced with new roof with 3D shingels, installed 3 new steel insulated garage doors and a steel entry man door. They also installed vinyl siding, sofit, seamless 1 piece gutters and downspouts.

I don't know anything about construction, so I was nervous about being taken advantage of as a consumer. I grew to trust and depend on his expertise. I feel I was treated fairly and even kindly. I recommend Jessico Inc. without reservation.
Description of Work: Mike Vento oversaw the entire project of completely renovating my condo. His company took out walls, added walls, took up floors, tile, tubs, sinks, the entire kitchen, made holes in walls and ceiling for lighting, etc. They did all demolition and most of the reconstruction. His service in all ways was extraordinary. I believe most contractors would have walked away from the job. The building is old and a coop. The walls are concrete, and all work had to be approved by the coop. But he estimated work and costs appropriately. The thing I appreciated most was how he managed the whole project, being in touch with the plumber, electrician, flooring, tile, and people who inspected the work. He kept things moving and on-schedule. He has an easy-going disposition and gets along with people but, because he knows what he's doing, people respect him and respond. He has a great memory for details so that he knew what everyone was doing, not just the people who were working for him, and he stayed on top of things, making sure it all went right. His workers are outstanding. He has a good relationship with them. They were there on time, worked hard, responded to requests, knew what they're doing, and were able to be flexible when the need arose.

Sunrise initially hired workers that knew NOTHING about remodeling (and Im pretty sure the owner of Sunrise knew little of remodeling himself). The ONLY thing Sunrise did right was send their foreman (Jessie) to redo pretty much everything- in a last ditch effort to save this job. I cant speak highly enough about Jesse. He absolutely knew everything about anything he was doing- from drywall, to plumbing, to electrics to carpentry- and he did ALL of it beautifully and meticulously. He was professional, funny and a sheer pleasure to have around. Hopefully he has broken away from the clown he was working for at Sunrise, and is on his own... ANYBODY who uses him will be thrilled with the outcome. My only regret was that we didn't get him from the start of our job, but hey- thats just one of the MANY mistakes Sunrise Construction made.
Description of Work: He cleaned up all of the disaster that his contractor/employer (Sunrise Construction) made in our bathroom remodel.

Mike was excellent to work with. His team demo'd the stairs to the attic to find room to put the new bathroom within the bedroom. They then added pull down stairs and moved the ceiling fan. His team cleaned up after themselves every day. If they were not going to be there because of other jobs, he always emailed me so I knew their schedule. He was very accommodating when it came to picking out the fixtures and gave me suggestions of products that he had good success with in the past. And, if he discovered other issues, like the leaky sink in the basement, or the leaky front door, he fixed it for me. I could tell he really cared about the job, and since I am a single twenty-something who just purchased my first house, he was the perfect contractor for me.
Description of Work: Contacted Mike to get an estimate for adding a second bathroom to the house I had just purchased. Of the 3 contractors contacted, he was the only one to take the time to look for a solution that would suit the house layout best. His estimate was also the lowest of the 3, but his allowances for flooring and shower/vanity/toilet were sufficient that I was able to get very nice fixtures.
