They didn't put it in right the first time because it was leaking fumes. I had to call them back and get them out here. Then they had to call the warranty company. When the heater was shipped, it must have bumped something. They fixed it. I would not use Lowe's again for this type of project.
Description of Work: They put a propane water tank in my home.

My sister said that Lowe's was fantastic when they did some work at her house, so we headed for the Trent store. We should have known that after waiting a half hour at the tile/carpet center without being acknowledged, that we should have gone elsewhere. After complaining at the service desk, a manager came back to take our order. A subcontractor came out within a few days to measure and report back to Lowe's who then gave us the estimate. We agreed and signed the contract and paid in full (another mistake!) The contractor was several hours late the first three days. Our son was home on military leave on the fourth day and said that they came late again and reeked of marijuana. A week later, they had broken our toilet, broken our sink and had still not finished the work. They decided, without talking to me, to break down all the plaster and replace it with drywall. They also told me that they would throw in a ceiling exhaust fan for free. One day they declared they were finished. When I came home from work, I found that the tub was ruined, the toilet (the new one we bought to replace the one they broke) was on the back porch and the sink was on the kitchen floor. The entire house was coated with very thick dust. The tile in the bathroom was raggedly cut with huge gaps and also many overlaps. I called the manager of the store to come and look at the work the next morning. The first words out of his mouth when I stepped aside to let him in the bathroom, were an epithet. He took pictures and swore that Lowe's would make it right. Six weeks later, we had all new tile, laid better than the prior job, but less than well done, a new and much smaller tub, and a toilet and sink that we had to call and ask to have it reinstalled. We had to call Lowe's to have the contractor remove the trash that was left in the middle of our front yard and the broken old bathtub that was left in the middle of our driveway for nearly a week. One year later, the ceiling fan is still not hooked up, there is still a large hole in the unfinished wallboard, and the bathtub drain does not hold water, nor were the towel racks installed that the original subcontractor agreed to do. It should be noted that we only have the one bathroom. As luck would have it my parents live next door and we were able to use their bathroom, but eight weeks of that was completely unacceptable. After numerous complaints, Lowe's sent a $150.00 give card "for our trouble" which we gave to my parents because of their inconvenience in letting us use their bathroom.
Description of Work: We wanted to retile our 10 x 15 bathroom. The tile was original to the house, built in 1955. We wanted to replace the sheet vinyl on the floor, also. Our tub, toilet and sink were in fine working order and the plaster walls were in excellent shape.

The salesman at Lowes, John, was the manager of the plumbing department and was courteous and helpful. Installation was completed by a contractor who was punctual, friendly, efficient and competent. I had planned to ask him to repair a leak in the pipes of one bathroom, but before I could show him the leak, he found it on his own, gave me an estimate (very reasonable) and had the work done in short order. An experienced friend had looked at the leak for me the previous day and told me what needed to be done and how much it should cost, and the plumber's information was identical to my friend's. When there was a problem with one of the sink tops, the plumber came back and replaced it at no charge. Lowe's also refunded the money for a vanity that proved to be too large for the intended bathroom, even though I bought a replacement at another nearby home improvement store instead of driving the 12 miles to Tarentum. This was a very good experience.
Description of Work: Installation of three bathroom vanities with sinks and a new toilet in three separate bathrooms. One bathroom had a leaking pipe that needed to be repaired.
