Let me start by saying O’Donnell Construction has put a new kitchen and master bathroom in my home and they did a fairly nice job. They are on time and clean the work area every day before they leave. They are more expensive than others; although you usually get pretty good results and they stay close to the timeline they give you from the onset of the job. When they did my kitchen, my wife wanted a particular floor that was not easy to find; Charles O’Donnell went out of his way to get it for us. After the kitchen and the bathroom were done, we decided to add a porch to the front of our home. That’s where we have had some problems. O’Donnell Construction subcontracted the cement work to Flagstaff Concrete (see their review). Six months after the completion of the project, we noticed a large crack in the concrete that spans approximately 100 inches from the base of the house directly to a support column. (Remember, I hired O’Donnell Construction and they subcontracted the concrete portion of the job. I am not in the construction business; therefore I do not know if the crack is due to the concrete or a load bearing issue). My wife called O’Donnell Construction and briefly spoke to Charles O'Donnell who assured her he would evaluate the porch. We never heard back from them. My wife tried calling a second time; her call was not returned. Several weeks later I sent certified letters to O’Donnell Construction and Flagstaff Concrete; neither company responded (O’Donnell Construction never claimed their letter). I sent a first class letter to O’Donnell Construction. Mr. Charles O’Donnell called me three days later; he was very belligerent, upset, and used profanity during our conversation. Mr. O’Donnell assured me he had inspected the patio and concluded it was “not right” and it will be replaced. Here we are several weeks later and I have not heard from O’Donnell Construction or Flagstaff Concrete. My wife contacted Charles O'Donnell by phone approximately 4 weeks ago requesting their status with our complaint. Mr. O'Donnell told my wife they have been too busy to take care of our issue. Charles O'Donnell never contacted my wife again. My assessment of O’Donnell Construction would be if you have extra money to spend and you are lucky enough to get the project completed with no problems or issues, use them (good chance you will not hear back from O’Donnell Construction if you have a problem, especially after final payment is made). If you can find a less expensive, more reliable contractor, I would go that route. Having spent over $100,000 in home improvements using O'Donnell Construction, I would have expected any issues to have been taken care of. At the very least, a return phone call would have been nice. I WILL NEVER use O’Donnell Construction again; nor will I recommend them. I have no personal animus against O'Donnell Construction, it's business. You are here seeking information. You can use my experience to help yourself in your own decision to use them or not.
Description of Work: We originally had a kitchen and master bathroom done by O'Donnell Construction at a total cost of approximately $90,000. We decided to have them do a front porch on our home at a cost of $13,000.

They are very professional. The service is excellent. I think that their fees are a little bit high, but I really don't have a comparison. Very good and nice people.
Description of Work: They installed my furnace, water heater, and recently put in a toilet for me.

I obviously will not be rescheduling another meeting. If this company cannot be reliable enough to keep an appointment. I will most definitely question the character and integrity of the work it would perform. Especially being this is the second time it is receiving this same complaint.
Description of Work: Contacted this company for a estimate to refinish a basement. Made an appointment to meet with the contractor. But the gentlemen showed up on the wrong day. Called him to let him know the correct date of our appointment, and was told that it would not be convenient for him. In an effort to get together I had rearranged my schedule to get him a time and date that would work. After all this, not only did he not show, he also did not give me the courtesy of a phone call. ($30000)

John O'Donnell came out for an estimate a couple days after I called. He arrived at the agreed upon time. He asked a lot of questions and had some suggestions about the remodeling project. The estimate was detailed but contained some inaccurate information. The price was reasonable. We chose another contractor instead.
Description of Work: Received an estimate for removing a half bath, relocating it and adding a stall shower. Also included removing a wall between the family room and kitchen and replacing a sliding glass door in a new location.
Could not get a price. Therefore, work was not performed.
Description of Work: I was looking for an estimate for drywall, dropped ceiling, light fixtures, and carpeting in my basement. I left a message. My call was returned and they were going to come out for an estimate, but never showed up or called. I left a message, but it was not returned.
