Diane Handy Ma'am

Called Diane to get an estimate about replacing our mailbox, it was very reasonable. She had the time and did it right away. Then I ask her about the deck slider curtain rod and she also hung that. She was very professional and easy to talk too. The price and quality of her work exceeded my expectations. I would definitely hire her again.

She was great! Very prompt and knowledgeable and inexpensive.

Everything went well...I was hanging my curtains while Diane was working in another area. I threw the request to dismantle the storage unit at her at the last minute and she was happy to do so....even though it was an unplanned task. I would definitely use her again. The rate was extremely reasonable for all the tasks accomplished. I rated her a B on punctuality because she was not here at our designated time...however, she immediately called and explained a up in the scheduled time and arrived shortly thereafter. I appreciated the fact that she called to let me know.

Diane was awesome. She came out right away to take a look at the job. It was not a job that she could do since it was a very high roof job. However, we appreciate that she came out right away to take a look for us without charge. We will definitely call Diane again in the future.

Very well. She explained what needed to be done. Got the paint samples for us. Pick up the paint and finished the job in time for Thanksgiving which was very short notice. Would definitely use her again. Friendly and sociable.

This was the first time I have used Diane. Great communication before the job and during the job. Excellent quality. Diane hung 25 pictures; we just told her the wall that should be used for each grouping and Diane determined the arrangement. Very happy with her decisions. I asked Diane to look at the patio edging. Her thoughts and final recommendation were spot on...pulled out the plastic edging and replaced with cement blocks. 100% satisfied. Based on this job, I will definitely use Diane in the future.

Diane was great! I had many things that came in cartons and had no clue how to put them together. Diane did. She was meticulous and got the jobs done quickly. She was also fun to have around. I highly recommend.

I contacted the provider and she came to talk with me about what I needed done. She said she would get back to me with an estimate. I waited two weeks then emailed her to see what was going on. A week later she emailed me saying that she had "forgotten" me and hoped that I had found someone else to do the work. "Found someone else!!!???" I was waiting for her to give me an estimate. She made no apology, just a statement of fact -- she didn't even contact me by phone, just an email. I would NEVER contact this person again.

Contacted Diane to ask if she did window capping and flashing as we had several leaky windows that needed to be addressed. Although Diane said she did not do this kind of work she was kind enough to review my problem with me and give me another referral who might be able to help me. So refreshing! Thank you Diane. Rest assure I am already lining up a days worth of jobs that we need to have done and will be in contact in the future. Most appreciative of your professionalism.

The floors looked fabulous when she finished. She was totally competent and professional from start to finish. Although the floors only get refinished once we will hire her for all subsequent jobs.

Diane was great. She was on time, on budget, and thorough. I felt comfortable letting her into my house without someone else being there. She painted our family room, sun room and a little bit of the kitchen. She was respectful of our home and covered all the furniture while painting. I would definitely recommend Diane to friends and famly.

REALLY well! She is prompt, professional, and shows you what she sees, explaining the situation and offering options about how to approach the repairs. And she's a real pleasure to have in my home!

She was fast and accurate, and did a lot of great work for me. She did one time fix a kitchen faucet using pieces that she bought. Within a day the problem came back, and she apologized and said that a licensed plumber would need to look at the problem. I did have to pay for the parts, and she preferred to buy the products herself rather than let me buy them, which wasn’t great. I really like that she takes notes on what I ask her to do and really follows up and does what I ask. She works well. She was late one time, which was disappointing, but she did stay late that night to work and finish the job. If she was caught in traffic, I wish she would have called me to let me know rather than just show up an hour and a half late. I would certainly use her again, but I find that her price is high. If she needs to run to the store to pick up any hardware, she is on the clock during that time. She does work quickly and does exactly what I ask her to do.

Diane came when she said she would. She was very friendly and professional. I showed her what I needed done. She looked at the problem then told me that there was an issue of lead based paint: although she could do it improperly (because it potentially required haz mat precautions) she could not and would not work that way. She spent time explaining to me what needed to be done and exactly why she could not take the job. I have seen other people come to give estimates and get annoyed when they found they could not do the job. This was not the case with Diane. The next time I need a handyperson Diane is the one I will call.

Diane called back promptly and was very professional when I spoke with her and although it turned out that I was able to resolve my issue myself, I would use her services in the future.

We take ownership for one reason why this project failed. As an experienced handy-person, she could have taken ownership of another reason why this project failed. We purchased a door too large for our shower. This was OUR MISTAKE. We didn't measure for the proper door. Here's where she comes in. After the door was delivered, she completed almost the entire pre-door installation job including the cut up of the original door boxes so we couldn't return the $300 shower doors to the store. The last step, placing the doors into the frame, had yet to be done. When she went to place the doors into the frame, she realized they were too big for our small shower. She should have taken measurements or noted at the beginning of the project that the doors were too big before destroying the boxes. She might have noted that too much framing was being left behind after the cuts. We had to discard the brand new $300 shower doors in the trash because we couldn't return them thanks to her. Politely, she asked when she could return to finish the job when we got new doors. We told her we would call her. We didn't. We selected another vendor for the installation of our new shower doors.

As I mentioned in my previous review, by the time I got around to thinking about cleaning and preserving the decks last year, it was getting too cold for the job. Diane took the initiative to call me this spring. She came to review what needs to be done, did research and advised me what to use on the ipe deck and bridge. She was very thorough with her job of cleaning and applying the ipe oil on the deck and bridge. She also did a great job of cleaning and painting the two garden benches (slats and all). The repainting of the fiber cement panel required some careful feathering so that I don't have to repaint more than absolutely necessary. Diane did a great job of that. We have already discussed what job she will come back and do later on. She is going to be a great resource for me.

diane was a pleasure from start to finish. she repaired and/or replaced wood as needed on shed doors and then primed and painted the entire shed. She was punctual, hardworking and a joy to work with. I would call her first for any new project that needs being done.

I had a number of projects that I could use help for. Contacted Diane late last year (2012) and she came over. She did the project that was permitted by weather at that point and we discussed a number of different projects down the road which would be better done when the weather was warmer. Diane promised to call me when the weather is warm enough to do such projects. She did called me in late April 2013 about cleaning and reconditioning the deck, which is one of the projects on the list. Our deck is made of ipe and have not been cleaned since it was put up a couple of years ago. Diane helped us research the way to clean and recondition the deck, the best products to use, etc. She even research the sources for these products for us. Now all we have to do is to order the products so they will be on-hand when she comes over in a week or two to start the project. We are looking forward to it and will try to report after its completion.

Diane was wonderful to work with. She was punctual, she was very pleasant and fun to work with. Her work was thorough and excellent and she stayed until everything was done perfectly!

Diane called me almost immediately after I contacted via e-mail thru Angie's List. We spoke at great length and I liked the fact that, not only was she extremely experinced in home repairs and remodeling, she was also local. She said that would call me back either the next day or the following day, to arrange a meeting time that was convenient for both of us...That was at least week or so ago and she never called me back....I had also contacted a few other local people in the meantime, and I heard back from them right away and have decided to hire one of them who was more responsive. Also, I think Diane needs to give potential customers a little more notice as far as scheduling a meeting. When I oringinally spopke to her, she wanted to meet within a few minutes ( which I couldn't do) and I did just now receive a call from her and she's in the area and wants to meet within the next few hours. Unfortunatley, I was unavailable to answer her call and, again, cannot meet her on short notice. I will call her back and let her know that I have hired someone else.

Diane did a great job and is a pleasure to work with!

Originally contracted with Diane to remove wallpaper, prep & paint the walls in our master bath. She did an excellent job. She also solved a problem with the backing for our light fixture, hung blinds and caulked. She was great to work with and offered helpful suggestions. We would definitely use her services again.

Her work is superb and she is very easy to work with.
