Description of Work: Kravetsky Remodeling performed kitchen and both remodeling services for us through the Indiana Lowe's. We did the majority of the demo and finish work while Kravetsky did the framing, wiring and plumbing work we needed for the project. They were responsive, professional and performed very good work however they were juggling a number of other projects and so it was difficult at times to schedule next steps. Otherwise we have no complaints.

As far as I know the footer was poured correctly but the quality of the rest of the work makes me wonder. After the footer was poured the contractor asked me if he could just pour a cement pad instead of lay block and I told him he was the contractor use his best judgement. I work almost a hundred miles away so I wasn't there to oversee the work so when I got home the pad was poured. Later that weekend I noticed the pad was below grade which I couldn't believe a contractor would do. I contacted him and we agreed he would lay enough block to get it above grade and i even told him I would pay for the extra work. The block was laid poorly and the studded walls weren't even plumb either way. The final straw for me was discovering after he poured the footer he threw dirt over it and poured the pad over loose dirt with no gravel etc. So he took the time to pour a footer and then poured a pad that didn't even have concrete to concrete contact with the footer. No gravel in the center area .... not even rebar anywhere. When I complained he told me the work he did was acceptable. I fixed it the best I could without starting over. In my opinion you need your'e head examined if you are thinking of hiring him.
Description of Work: Contractor was hired to prop up my back room, dig and pour a footer, and then pour a cement pad and stud up the walls. I was going to do the finish work myself.

They were a subcontractor for Lowes. They use their own workers with varied skills. The first day they arrived the workers were pulled from another job to start ours. The workers were not in a very good mood and upset by it. It was very awkward for me. We did our own demolition of the kitchen and had even had the subfloor removed. They were impressed on how ready we were. We first were to discuss with the designer from Lowes and the the person in charge of Kravetsky what was going on with this kitchen remodel. He (Kravetsky) called the night before to say he would be there at 8 am. I said sure and thought Lowes was notified. They weren't. I had contacted the designer myself to let him know. There were a lot of miscommunication between all parties. I ended up being the liason or the coordinator of the whole project. the workers never seemed to know what was going on or what was expected. so every morning I would go over details. They didn't even have the final blueprint available to them (the workers) Luckily I had one. The first day they didn't even have a batteries for their plumb line tool. The 2nd day I pulled the worker in charge aside and had a talk with him about what the problem was and what I felt I needed to know and what he needed to know. Once I found out it wasn't about me, but other issues, we got along fine. I needed to be involved every step of the way to make sure things got done the way I wanted and done correctly, such as plastic barriers to the other rooms, light placement, switches, flooring (workders didn't know they were to install it) etc etc. I found out workers were doing jobs they had never attempted before. such as laying a lamiate floor.... and I had to have them back to fix an issue. There are still problems that are too late to fix, concerning the underlayment. When the sink was removed we had just lines bare, but shut off. After subfloor was laid, and cabinets installed, a plumbing issue arose and we had a leak that ran down the pipes and into the celing of the (finished) basement. So we had to have them come on a day off to get it repaired. (This happened 2 times) Their fix to the celing was to paint over it. The ceiling tiles have been discontinued and they weren't going to put in new ones. I had a few left of the old ones stored away and we used those to replace the damaged ones... they glued them in. It was not what I wanted, but by this time I was tired of arguing with the owner of Kravetsky. The owner wouldn't come to discuss issues, he would send a worker and of course they couldn't do much. All this time I was also complaining to Lowes, but they said it was up to us to deal with Kravetsky. I felt bad for the workers and I thought I was putting their jobs on the line by complaining. I think the owner uses this to silence the homeowner, me. In my opinion they should use the worker with the skill they have for the job they are suited for... Kevin used a worker good at one job to do other jobs he was not suited for and not good at. I have had to go back and fix some of the problems caused by this.. more of the finishing area. I did finally put in a complaint to the headquarters of Lowes, but that took me many people and channels to access before I got any results. This whole project was very stressful for me. I work full time as does my husband and I wanted someone to do a good job without me standing over them constantly. Every day I came home from work and took notes and had them redo something and had a list of things needing done. I was in tears many nights and was very overwhelmed with the whole process. It took almost 2 1/2 months to finish. I will never use this contracting company again. I had a remodeling project done in another house we lived in with 3x as much work done and with a room added on a house and never had problems like this. I knew what to expect with remodeling like the dirt & dust, but wasn't ready to be the project manager. We need to have a bathroom remodel and I am afraid now to have it done, as I don't know who to use. The only good thing I have to say is they were very trustworthy to have in my house. The main issue with this company is the lack of communication between the workers and the owner and the homeowner. He needs to use his workers wisely and figure out how to put his talented workers in the postions they are qualified for. In my opinion, I suspect he has too many projects going on at the same time. I waited to make this review because of how upset I have been about it and didn't want to be too nasty about the review. For the first year I hated my new kitchen as it was a constant stressful reminder. I don't wish this on anyone.

Horrible experience. Tile floor job had to be redone at least 3 times, tiles kept popping up and falling off the walls. Drywall job quality was very poor. Toilet leaked. Shower surround is out of square. Took way too long to complete job and by the end we just wanted them out!

Kevin is very friendly and was fair with his bid on this project. The crew that worked on our project , Darrin, Jeff, and Steve, were very professional and extremely competent. I will definitely use Kevin's services again for our next project.
