I thought getting a contractor through Home Depot would cost more but they would provide contractors with a high level of professionalism. I contacted the Home Depot and paid the $99 fee for MC Enterprise to provide me with an estimate for performing the work for remodeling my home (add a bathroom, remodel 2 bathrooms, reconfigure the kitchen, enlarge 2 bedrooms, and upgrade the electrical service). I make my payment to Home Depot December 8, 2021, 7 days ago, and have yet to receive a call from MC Enterprise. I contacted Home Depot several times and was told they contacted MC Enterprise and left message several times. I got MC Enterprise contact information and contacted them myself, December 13, and still no return call. I can understand being busy, but I expect a level of professionalism that would at least result in a phone call.

One crew forgot to tighten a valve in the one bathroom which resulted in a leak through the ceiling and drywall in our foyer. They also cut ceramic tile in our master bedroom rather than taking it outside. We also discovered after the fact that they never vented the bath fan. The owner never contacted us when there were problems, he left it up to the crew to communicate and solve problems. I guess with the amount we spent, it would have been nice to talk to the owner when there were problems. One crew was good with the install, the other was terrible. Just about everything they did needed to be corrected by the other crew. The owner was aware that the crew wasn't up to par but continued to send them on the job.

The first crew totally messed up my ceiling - horrible drywall taping.  I  knew it was jacked up so I called and sent pics.  The next day a new crew came in and agreed it was crappy and needed redone.  They redid it and it looks fabulous!  I hired these guys through the large, home store w/ an orange square sign!  The project coordinator was helpful.  The orange sign company subs out the work out to MC.  Both companies were responsive and helpful.  They did a nice job installing my cabinets and adjusting the trim to meet the uneven ceiling (in another part of the kitchen!)- it looks great.  Advice if you decide to go with the large orange sign home company - the granite/marble people they use out of Phili are HORRIBLE.  Pay a few bucks more and go elsewhere.  They put unnecessary (and ugly crappy) seams in your counters.  Other advice includes that if you want to save the money, you will have to watch them, organize and be on top of the guys.  I am getting a quote for my bathroom but only want the certain guys here!  Oh and the counter people put a little scrape in one of my cabinets and the home company ordered a new cabinet door and MC replaced it easy peasy!
