The visit from the estimator was fine. He offered me an option a previous estimator didn't offer me: saving my tile. Their price was reasonable. They cleaned up after themselves. Afterwards, I gotten a visit from a city code inspector and realized that the workers didn't get a permit for any of the work. I feel like they should have known they needed it. As a result, the permit inspector put a sticker on my house and work had to stop until they got a permit. It was infuriating. I also found out that the person doing the work wasn't a certified plumber. He had experience, but they had to bring another person in to make sure the plumbing work was up to work. That made the project take even longer. The estimator didn't tell me about contingencies, or extra costs that might add up in the end. And I did have some extra costs. I would have appreciated him telling me up front about additional costs if other things come up. The cost looked better than the previous person I got from an estimate, but it wasn't a whole lot better.
