Home Depot immediately took care of all the missing or wrong stuff. I had to drive back up there to take back the wrong cabinet. They ordered the new cabinet and the other missing pieces and when they came in I had to drive back and pick them up again. The handles were wrong and I ended up having to go to management to get the handles corrected.

This was an incredibly frustrating home improvement project. I have a very small kitchen. The project took over three months and eight scheduled appointments from the installers. Imagine being home on eight occasions for a tiny kitchen. The installers were given wrong materials and incorrect amounts. I had to follow up at every step. Home Depot is not responsive and it's very difficult to reach the representatives in the store. In this instance, the installers did their best, but it was clear that there was no coordination. With nobody to steer the project, the result was a very long, time intensive experience.

Subcontractor installation was excellent. They were on time, neat, and thorough. Anderson 400 Doors are excellent. The price was 1/3rd of several other quotes for similar quality product. The only problem was the ordering. Every time we called the store we dealt with a different sales assistant, giving us conflicting information and price quotes! We got the door we wanted at the price we wanted, but it took a lot of double checking and perseverance. Between custom size order and in-store confusion, it took about four months from the time we stated talking to Home Depot until the final installation. The final construction (was prepaid when the door was ordered) cost was about $200 more (the total $700) than the pre-site visit quote. The extras included any additional materials and aluminum capping on the outside.
