Chris was outstanding on all accounts. He provided an estimate for the job quickly after I initially contacted him and his offer was very competitive. He scheduled the job in a timely fashion, started and completed the job exactly when he said he would. Most importantly, his work was outstanding. Our 90-100 year old chimney now looks brand new and the re-pointing is a perfect match to the original masonry work. We couldn't have asked for more. We would strongly recommend Chris and is masonry company to anyone!

Chris Basile is one of the most professional contractors I've had the pleasure of working with. He promptly returned my initial call and set up a time for an estimate within a few days. His estimate was fair and detailed, and he was open to a bit of negotiation. He told me up front that the actual work would be more than a month out, as he has been extremely busy (and rightly so). I accepted his bid, and he contacted me again a few days before the work was scheduled to start. He arrived first thing in the morning and got right down to it. He answered all of my amateur questions throughout the process and was very reassuring as to how the patio would turn out. He kept me apprised as to the progress, and explained why the project was likely going to take a bit longer than expected (turns out my old patio was in worse shape than I thought!) However, he did not take the opportunity to try to augment his estimate. I'm writing this about an hour after he left. Looking out at my new patio, I can't believe it is mostly my OLD patio. Chris put new life into it, and I would recommend him in an instant.

Chris was great. He responded quickly with a quote, and he came the day he said he would. He repaired our front stone steps which were crumbling in places. He was neat, efficient and the steps look better than ever. I would definitely use him again for masonry work.

Chris was very responsive. He kept me informed of his availability and gave me dates as the time grew closer. He appeared on time and worked hard in the heat to get the job done. My only dissapointment was that the stucco on the chimney does not match the style of the rest of the house. It is smooth. But he shaped the chimney to the original shape and that is pleasing. He was very professional and i will use his services again.

Chris was very busy because of our particularly snowy winter, but was able to give me an approximate date for the service. He was good about getting back to me regarding that approximation and we were, after a short back and forth, able to confirm a specific date. Chris arrived approximately 8am, and immediately went about doing the required work, which was satisfactorily completed by approximately 1pm the same day. Chris was sure to ask us to contact him if we had any questions or concerns. He was very professional and was careful about cleaning up after the job was completed. Chris' rates seemed competitive. We had two other quotes that were in the ballpark for what they said needed to be done, but Chris' list of required work was not as extensive as the others. I feel that he saw what was immediately needed and did not try to "sell" us anything more than those basic needs...which is exactly what we were looking for. The only reason I did n ot give Chris and excellent for price is that I have a tendency to get sitcker shock....not being in the loop of what these things cost these days. But were were pleased enough with Chris' work and professionalism to contact him again regarding another house repair issue.

Chris did an amazing job on both the pillars and stucco work. For the pillars, Chris removed all mortar joints, pressured washed all areas to remove any dirt and mold and then pointed to seal all of the joints from any water penetration. Chris also did advanced pointing work to give the pillars a more modern look for no extra costs. The pillars are the best looking in the neighborhood. Chris also repaired the cracked stucco problems in the back of the house. There were many cracks that Chris repaired and filled for us and he also repaired a very large cracked above the kitchen window. To fix this Chris removed all stucco and even replaced the wood inside as it was rotted from rain and snow. Again, Chris did not ask for more money as he replaced all of the wood and he even matched the stucco color and painted it for us. Chris did such an amazing job as he went above and beyond what we had asked. We will definitely be asking Chris to come again to do the rest of the re-pointing of the front stone wall as well as the stone foundation.

Chris returned my call promptly and explained that he is currently so busy that he wouldn't be available to do the work until the end of Summer. I explained that I wanted to get several estimates and he offered to come out and look at the job and prepare an estimate for me. I really appreciated that since he could have easily just said he was too busy and left it at that. He came out, looked at the job and promptly prepared an estimate and emailed to me. We are anxious to get the job done sooner rather than later so we will most likely use someone else. If we had the luxury of waiting, I would have definitely considered using Chris. He was professional and timely and I appreciated that very much. It was wonderful of him to take the time to help us with a comparison estimate even though he knew he probably wouldn't get the job due to his availability. He is busy and I believe that speaks for itself.

Chris met us at the stone supply store in Upper Darby to help us review and select the best color options. He was very helpful through the whole process and helped us install a new ledge for the fireplace.

Chris is great! He is on time, does a great job, and leaves the house in better shape than he found it. I do not hesitate to recommend him highly.

Chris did a great job! The hearth looks beautiful. He cleaaned the marble before he left an even followed up a couple days later to ask if i wanted him to come back and clean them again. Highly recommended!

I called Chris and left a message to contact me about the work I wanted done. He got back to me within a day and we setup a time and date for him to come over and see what had to be done.He arrived on time and inspected and told me what he would do. He emailed me the next day with a price. I accepted and he scheduled a date and time. He arrived on time and started to work. He removed the loose sills and re-mortered them. He had to cut the caulk joints between the window capping and the sills. After all the sills were reset He re-caulked the sill/capping joints and recalked all around the window sills. He also re-caulked around all the windows. He did an excellant job at a fair price.

After some work done by another contractor completely fell apart over the winter, Chris assessed what needed to be done to fix the situation, restore my front steps, and make the whole thing look good. I had thought the whole stoop might need to be rebuilt so I was very relieved when Chris explained that he could restore everything without going to those lengths. He came when he said he would, finished the job as promised in spite of uncooperative weather, and cleaned everything up at the end. I will definitely call him to look at some repointing that needs to be done on my stonework.

Chris came in with the best price for the job. He was very good communicating with me about when he would be able to start the job and how long it would take. Chris showed up right on time and came everyday until the job was completed. The walkway looks excellent and the chimney looks solid. Chris cleaned up all debris from both jobs at the completion. I plan on using Chris for a couple other masonry projects in the near future.

It went very well. Chris went above and beyond expetations- friendly, helpful, professional, knowedgable. He even helpped us take Christmas decorations down!

We had another estimate that was literally 3 times Chris' estimate. The description of the work was the same. Chris had to re-schedule our repair due to the snowstorm but came promptly before the next snowstorm to do the job. Left everything neat and did a fine job.

Chris did a wonderful job re-pointing my brick chimney and stone retaining walls. It took several days to complete the work, and he always left the work area clean at the end of the day. His communication was great. He let me know as far in advance as he could when he would be working and answered every question I had. Some of my neighbors interrupted him and started conversations, and he was always good-natured about it. When I made a surprise request to fix the mortar at the corner of the house and a hole we found, he assessed the situation and started on it before he left that same day, and gave me a fair price for the additional work. He even did most of the work cutting down an overgrown holly bush that was in the way, even though it was my responsibility to do that. Chris' estimate was the lowest of three bids I received, but the quality of the work was top rate. The final cost was the same as the estimate plus a small amount for the additional work. He did a great job matching the existing 60 year old mortar on both the brick and the stone. You can't even tell in most areas that any repair work was done. He maintained the character and aged look while ensuring the mortar will be sound for many more years. I would definitely use Chris' services again.

Chris was very professional and punctual. He did exactly what he promised when he promised. He went out of his way to search for specific colored mortar to be certain that the result was perfect. I highly recommend him.

Hardly knew he was working, before I knew it the job was done.

Chris was wonderful. He removed all the old stone pointing and finished the first half of our house in one day. He can back the next day and finished the rest in half a day. He did an beautiful, amazing job. It makes such a huge difference in how the whole exterior of our house looks. He was extremely profession and prompt in returning our initial phone call for an estimate, scheduling the work on our house, and finishing the job. We could not have asked for a better experience.

Chris was very good at getting back to me when I contacted him for an estimate. He came at exactly the time agreed upon. Chris was good at giving updates on when the work could/would begin. He and his helper always came early and got right to work and were attentive to clean up. They were polite to neighbors and careful about parking spaces and property lines. He paid special attention to matching the old-style pointing on the stone wall to match my neighbor's ajoining wall...nice touch! The basement has never looked so good. The glass block basement windows are really keeping out drafts and it all feels solid. Its great to finally have a big patio in the backyard and to finally fix that terribly beat up walkway along the side of the house that has bugged me for years. It all looks good and neighbors are asking me for Chris' name and number. My Son used Chris for one of his rental properties and was so impressed that he recommended Chris for the work on my home.

Chris was prompt, professional, and polite throughout the entire process. He answered all of our questions and was very tidy about the job. In addition to doing the job as described, Chris went out of his way to repair some extra cracks in the stucco and then painted those parts to make the entire chimney look nice. It was a pleasure working with Chris and we would certainly use him again in the future.
