The initial work performed was fine, but at the time of service I requested they order and install a new water heater. He said he would, however it?s been several weeks and I haven't heard from them. If they weren?t interested in doing the work, they should have said so instead of leading me to believe they?d be back out to install it. A very odd way to do business and very poor customer service.
Description of Work: Fixed a leak under the kitchen sink.

Response from NORTHWEST PLUMBING SERVICES
(Member name removed), I'm very sorry you have not received the messages our service plumber has left. He has even stopped by your house and left his business card at the door. Please call us at the office and we would be happy to schedule with you. 503-366-1323

We called NW Plumbing on 9/10/12 about a small leak coming from the flushometer toilet (commercial tankless style) in our upstairs master bathroom. (It was already in the house when we bought it.) They came out 2 days later and said they'd have to order a part. Came back 2 days later again to install the part. While the plumber was working, he kept saying what a terrible toilet it was, if the water pressure dropped and it started flushing on its own and over-flowed, the amount of water would take our house out. After he left, the leak was worse than before. He came back 3 days later, 9/17. We couldn't be home that day but were available by cell phone. He never called. After he left, once again it was still leaking. He came out a 4th time on 9/19. At that point we asked him what we were up to in costs. To our astonishment, he said $400 in parts and labor! We replied that he should've let us know that we were getting up that high and given us the option of replacing the toilet that "could take our house out". So he offered to buy back the parts and take some off the labor if we wanted to replace the toilet. That started a whole new string of problems with many trips here re-routing the pipe in the wall, etc. Finally, on 10/15, more than a month after we first called about the little leak, he came to install the new toilet. That's when he realized he had the right base, but the wrong tank. He admitted he hadn't checked it before he removed our toilet several days prior. He said he knew he ordered it correctly and didn't think any further. After hours of phone calls, he gave us a choice: take another toilet sight unseen, or be witout a toilet for 3 weeks while he re-ordered the one we wanted. (Because we went from a flushometer, our rough-in was a non standard 10" so we couldn't install just any toilet.) We had already been without a toilet for several days and certainly didn't want to go on for 3 weeks so we said we'd take the toilet he found. We really felt we had no other option. We wanted to be done with the project and have him out of our lives. Once installed, we were extremely unhappy. It was so tiny and modern, it looked ridiculous with our other traditional style Kohler fixtures. And the base was so small, it didn't cover the rough area on the floor caused by the old toilet. We called the owner of the company to express our frustration and disappointment. He did some calling and found the correct tank to go with the toilet we ordered and offered to replace it at no cost. So in the end, we got the toilet we ordered. We're happy with it. BUT, it cost us too much money - $300 in labor alone. Most of all, it cost us way too much stress. It was a total of 8 visits over 1-1/2 months, not counting several visits from the contractor we hired to repair the sheetrock that had to be cut open to re-route the pipe. It was a terrible interruption of our lives causing much stress. Not only did we have to accommodate a plumber walking through our bedroom and bathroom for a month and a half, but he would never give us any notice as to when he was coming. He'd call and say something like "I'll be there in 15 minutes. If you're not home I'll be on to another job and won't have time to get back to you today. Or "I might be there tomorrow at 8am unless I come into work in the morning and find there are other customers ready to go." It was a terrible experience. And all of it could have been avoided with a little communication, consideration, and planning ahead.
Description of Work: Fixed a leak, then replaced the toilet with a new one. Re-routed pipe in wall behind toilet.

He is really professional. He did a good job and he is reasonably priced. He actually came back and did some unrelated work for me for no charge. They have excellent customer service. I would use them again in the future if I needed to.
