"{member name removed} - Thank you so much for your kind review, we have loved working with you and enjoy managing your beautiful property."
in my dealing with them. I moved here
from out of state a few months ago, and I rented one of their properties. They were nice enough at first, and after
reading all of their reviews I moved down here fairly confident that they would
be a good company to rent from.
It has been a struggle ever since. After I signed the lease, they told me they
were unavailable to do a walkthrough of the property, which they also informed
me wasn?t ready yet. This was after speaking to them multiple times to confirm
the date, as I knew that I would be exhausted after my twenty hour drive up
here. I had to wait in the parking lot
with all of my stuff and my pets in the car until they finished cleaning it. After
coming inside, I wasn?t sure what they actually did. There were dead bugs on all of the shelves
and everything was still dirty. Also, I
realized fairly quickly that the place was in very bad shape. The door frames were cracked, the carpets
smelled of mold, and there were little holes in all of the walls that looked to
be from mice. The next day one of the
managers, Frank, came by because the garbage disposal wasn?t working, and I
also told him that I had discovered ants crawling on the counters. It was only then that he tentatively asked me
if I had seen any mice, and admitted they had been a problem in the past. He said they would have an exterminator come
down but no one ever came.
I have been trying to make the best of this situation for
the past few months, although the property is terrible. It is invested with mice, the heater does not
work (and it is freezing inside all of the time, because the doorframes and
windows don?t fit properly). There are
so many security issues, and the neighborhood it is in is not a very good
one. The peep hole, I discovered after a
few weeks, was only a silver magnet on the door that only resembled a peep
hole. There are multiple windows that
don?t lock at all.
Last month I was broken into because of this. Someone stole my television and Xbox and left
my window open so that my pet escaped without my knowing (thankfully I found
him, unhurt). I filed a police report,
and again I tried to make the best of things, but as I was in the house when it
happened, just in the other room, I admit that it really shook me up. Then one day I came home and found that
someone had attempted to do it again.
I called the property company and spoke with Becky. I explained the situation and that I was not
comfortable staying here with these security issues. Her solution was that they could install
motion activated lights. I explained
that as my lights had been on at the time?as I had actually been home?I didn?t
think that that would be very effective.
She also said I could pay out of my own pocket for extra security, which
I said I didn?t think was my responsibility.
There were no offers to fix the locks on the windows or install an actual
peep hole.
I decided that I needed to just leave, and talked to them
about letting me out of my lease. I know
someone who owns properties, and I used to work for a property company similar to
this, and both allowed the termination of the lease for safety concerns,
especially if there has already been a break in. However, Frank informed me that I could
leave, but not only would they not give me back my $1250 in deposits but they
also would be charging me an extra $1015 fee.
He was very unsympathetic, and when I explained the security issues, he
said that they have had this property for over ten years and never had a break
in before. So I guess somehow it was my
fault.
He also said that this is a slow time for their company and
they would have trouble renting the property out again. I know that is because anyone who actually
sees it before signing the lease would never agree to rent it in the condition
that it is in.
I feel like they took advantage of me because I was from out
of state, and am a young woman living alone.
They only disclosed certain things after having me sign the lease, such
as the mice infestation, something that would have caused me to look at a
different property had I known; and they are unwilling to do the work to make
the property livable and safe. Had I
read a review such as this one on this company, there is no way that I would
have trusted them to provide suitable living conditions. I strongly recommend that anyone looking to
live in the Salem area take this into advisement and avoid doing business with
this company. If I had, I would have
saved a lot of money and frustration.

I contacted Vince at Willamette Meadow Property asking for information on renting/leasing office/warehouse space. I have never leased office space before, so I had lots of questions as to the process. Vince was very patient with my questions and after we talked for a bit, he gave me some options he had available through his company. - After looking at the locations, I had more questions, these requiring him to contact the owners to be able to get the answers.
- Within just a day, two at the most, Vince had contacted the owners and gotten back to me with the answers-in fact, he not only answered my already asked questions, but anticipated the ones coming and had the answers to those as well!
- Vince was very helpful and seemed more interested in making sure I understood the process than and quot;making a saleand quot;.
- Anytime I have the need to rent/lease, either personally or in my business, Vince and Willamette Meadow Property with be my first call!
