Sir, [Member Name Removed], I cannot stress enough how aggravating your review is. Initially, we got a call from [Member Name Removed] regarding the trimming of a Laurel Hedge that approximately measures 50 feet long × 10 feet high × 5 feet wide. When I got there to meet with him, he came out and said "My wife doesn't think the hedge needs trimming, so we're not going to trim it." Then, when I was on my way out of his property, he said "How much would you trim this Wisteria growing up against the siding of the house? " The Wisteria measured 13 feet height × 7 feet wide, very overgrown. I told [Member Name Removed] that trimming it cosmetically would do nothing to restrain the Wisteria from continuing to grow higher/wider. Then, he agreed with me on trimming it drastically after I explained to him that the plant would recover in not time. *$200 for trimming the Laurel Hedge *$50 for trimming the Wisteria cosmetically *$65 for trimming it drastically and hauling everything away After trimming his Wisteria drastically, filling a truck load with the debris and reducing the job from $65 to $30 dollars since he kept complaining about the price and saying that his wife made up her mind about not trimming the bush at all after the bush was already trimmed, IT IS TOTALLY SUPER AGGRAVATING TO SEE HIS REVIEW.Service Provider Response
First and foremost, Mr [Member Name Removed] is wrong on several fronts: For starters, the bark dust chosen for the grounds of the property was applied after I took my time of getting couple of samples for him to assure me of what he wanted. Furthermore, it was completed exactly the day Mr [Member Name Removed] was told it would be. The landscaped beds of his property are slopes and, when he expressed his concern to me about losing bark dust too fast and not wanting to spend money re-bark dusting the landscape, I explained that it would only be viable solution if we went thick on layer and avoided raking too often. So, weed control, mowing, edging , pruning with not much raking the service was performed. Secondly, and with respect to the plants Mr [Member Name Removed] wanted in the back slope (backyard) and other additional projects, which I had presented and proposed to him, I explicitly said to him that all of those items would be carried out during the course of the winter since grass would not grow and or other vegetation. For instance and, to put his claims in perspective, during the beginning of November 2015 we had a conversation regarding the cleaning of his water fountain/pond feature in the back yard in which I told him I would clean up for him in the middle of winter so that he wouldn't get dirty and wet, he agreed. By November 11 2015, he came out to tell me that he wanted the pond cleaned so that he would enjoy it and run it during Thanksgiving day that year. It was not winter yet. Furthermore, after cleaning the water feature and gradually moving towards the winter, Mr [Member Name Removed] wanted some plants in front yard transplanted and around 300 bulbs inserted in the ground, items that I proposed/presented to him at not extra cost to his monthly bill, which in most cases we bill separately for. From the cleaning of the water feature to following the sequence, Mr [Member Name Removed] kept on asking and pushing for these items to be done fast. It was almost as if he didn't want to continue to pay for the remaining winter months of service after getting these items done fast since no a thing grows/flourishes despite telling him that we're an all year round service and that all of the talked about items would occupy the whole winter along with needed pruning. When it came to the last item on the list (selecting, bargaining for Mr [Member Name Removed], purchasing and ultimately executing the planting), I took my time/fuel in driving 15 miles out of Salem to select the plants. At Rocky Mountain Nursery i was told back in the beginning of March that they did not have all the inventory together yet and to come back by official spring date to make sure they had what we needed for Mr [Member Name Removed]. So, this item couldn't have been done during the time frame Mr [Member Name Removed] wanted due to the lack of inventory in nurseries despite me advising him on how low nurseries drop their prices towards/during winter. On April Saturday 9, Mr [Member Name Removed] called me and left a harsh toned message complaining about the service and expressed that he was thinking about hiring a different outfit. We had missed a service visit a day prior to the call, which Mr [Member Name Removed] wouldn't have paid for since we charge per service visit. We had planned the installation of the plants for Monday 11 and taking care of the landscape maintenance (missed service visit). However, after listening to Mr Saunders' voice message and after putting up with his tone on multiple occasions, I opted for not having him as our client any longer. I wrote a letter on Sunday 10, 2016 to Mr [Member Name Removed] explaining why we desired not to have him as our client, which is pretty much summarized in this response, and advised him that the planting in the back slope of the property for which he was not going to pay a dime on the labor part was no longer to occur. I thank Mr [Member Name Removed] for his business and am very sorry I couldn't become accustomed to his ways of communicating/demands. Lastly, he won't receive a bill for April.N/A
