When Mel came to look at the job, I explained what I wanted to happen on the floors : carpet removed, hardwood sanded, stained, and sealed. We would look at any damage once the carpet was removed. 1) I purchased the color of stain in wanted, but Mel refused to use it. He didn’t want to stain because it’s a lot of work to put it on and wipe the excess off. He was determined to use his clear coat and refused to stain the floors. 2) After the first coat dried, we were able to get a good look at the floor. Definitely not a color I wanted. Worse yet, they damaged no less than 11 of the tiles surrounding my fireplace! Accidents happen, but Mel refused to take responsibility for the damages. He explained that there is a guide that they use, to prevent such things. Well, something went wrong because the damage is there. I have been cleaning the fireplace for 20 years; you can’t gaslight me about what was there beforehand. Mel has no integrity.
