I knew Howard through some community work we were doing together, so I asked him to submit a proposal for selling our house. We knew the market was hot, and wanted to get in there before more stock came on the market in our neighborhood. Howard came in as if he didn't know us, explained very clearly what he thought our house could command and why, and how to maximize that potential. After comparing his plan to a couple of other realtors, we felt like he had the best plan to get us the return we wanted, and he offered to match price with the other realtor who was close. He hooked us up with a stager, whom with we consulted, but ended up not using (too complex logistically). And he helped us work on what repairs and touch-ups to do to make it look as nice as possible without staging. He had us scheduled to list the Friday before Memorial Day, with a broker opening the day after Memorial Day, and an open house on the 29th. All through this process he was in touch regularly, and stopped by frequently, which was easy because he lived in the neighborhood. He explained what was going to happen when and why, and had us work with an admin at the main office to coordinate paperwork and the like. All in all, the process was smooth and as painless as possible. Even more importantly, he managed to find a buyer who was frustrated with bidding wars and was willing to pay well over market to secure his spot and wrap up the process early. He stayed in close contact all through the offer, escrow, and inspection processes and subsequent negotiations, and even came to closing. We are ecstatic at the outcome and thrilled with Howard's work on it.

I recently made a home purchase in which Living Room Realtors handled the sellers home. Teri Toombs was the selling agent. This was one of the worst business transactions I have ever been apart of and I am personally offended by the business practices of the selling agent. I worked with my realtor to get information about the property from Teri Toombs and it was like pulling teeth from a five year old. We never received a straight answer from the listing agent and the information we received was minimal and in some instances, downright false. Before signing, and on my final walkthrough, I realized that the contractual repair agreements that we had made had not been completed. The sellers of the house had been allowed to sign before the agreed upon repairs had been made and information was falsely directed to us saying that the repairs had been completed. Furthermore, a quote for repairs that Teri Toombs had stated as receiving from a contractor turned out to be completely false and thousands of dollars more than what she had originally told us. I detest dishonesty and I felt as if I, and my agent, were served open faced lies during my most recent purchase. I plan on making more real estate purchases in Portland but if I ever see the associated names again, I will steadfastly take my business elsewhere.

They're quite good. I really felt like we got a lot of very direct advice that was helpful in selling our house and a lot of really useful localized market knowledge. They really knew the Portland market and our neighborhood as well.

They're wonderful. They are a small business. They get the style of Portland, and they know how to find the buyers. They are wonderful in terms of negotiating. Janelle was my realtor, and I was sad that I couldn't spend more time with her. She was so fantastic. I recommend them to everybody. She got me a really lovely housewarming gift when I got to the house.
